Surprised you haven't considered doing a Spring/Summer review on this especially now when the weather is great for high quality music fidelity to the outdoors. Pretty sure JBL will thank you for it.
I still have the original JBL boombox, and I can tell you from personal experience that this thing is just as good as when I got it a few years ago. The sound quality is amazing, the battery life is great, and it’s very easy to store if you’re taking a trip. I’ve always loved JBL products.
Bro.. its nice and all to keep the boombox 1, but i personally forgot about the boombox 1 and 2 after hearing the 3rd gen. This is a different monster.
@@cesiliaduarte1781 it depends on the storage and usage method. I'm having it for like 2 years, using it constantly, i'm a driver so most of the days I drive like 9-10 hours and using it all the time and it lasts for 3-4 days, and as soon as it got charged I plug it off. If you leave on the charger all the time even when its full, you're going to kill the battery, also if you store it with depleted battery is also a battery killer
@@johnnyhun1 my friend I've had my boombox for at least five years or more, I have used it a lot at full volume for hours at parties, beach, etc. I feel like I can't ask for more as far as battery goes lol.
Just wanted to give some love. You always look like you're having fun with your vids and I know I'm having a good time watching your videos. your reviews are very great and detailed. Keep up the work 💪🏾
Somehow this category of speaker wasn't on my radar until recently. I spent a week comparing the biggest portable speakers, almost went for the JBL Encore, but then once I realised that this was better, and also more portable, I switched over and bought this. It arrived about 15 minutes before I was due to go to a BBQ party, and it wowed everyone. Got there about 3pm and had to plug it in at 2am that night. Given a proper charge, I just got back from a 2-night trip where we had it on for various sessions over the days and nights, and didn't have to charge it up once. Everyone that hears it is seriously impressed. The tweeters/mid range speakers really do make a difference for keeping the sound separated and vocals clear without distorting. Over about 80% I think it does get a little bit strained with the audio quality. I don't know the right terms to describe it but to be honest, at that volume it will leave your ears ringing after a session, so it's only needed for big wide spaces. Absolute 10 out of 10 for me when ranked on sound, battery life, and reactions from friends. 100% a good investment of you are the one that brings the party.
This is truely an incredible sounding speaker. Had this for 3 months or so as well, not regretting even a bit of buying it, using it in a car, at home, charged it like 2-3 times since bought it. Jbl killed it once again.
Great review, I was looking at the JBL xtreme 3, but after watching your videos, I will buy the boombox 3. Thanks for the help and I appreciate your videos.
I’ve had mine for about 5 years now I use it at work construction and party’s. I get a lot of compliments love this speaker JbL boombox great sound clear bass still going strong 💪🏼🍻
bought mine last week. A M A Z I N G, you use the EQ settings in the app and the bass+subwoofer will literally shake your walls in the house with the eight song. MAN i love it
I had the JBL flip five, charge five, extreme three. And now I have the soundcore motion boom plus. I would have to say that the JBL charge five is one of the best sounding speakers you can buy from JBL. I am thinking about buying the BB 3
Yes, I've been telling everyone this. The Charge 5 was JBLs best speaker until the BB3 came out. Now there are two best speakers. The other ones are yearly good... but the Charge 5 and BB3 can't be beat.
@New Stuff TV It would be sick if JBL made a dedicated portable 8"-10" subwoofer that could pair with a PAIR of Charge 5's and an app that would cut a bit of the Charge's bass to allow them to turn up a bit more without zapping their battery's. Similar to what ROCKSTEADY is doing. I could see this working great for many pool/deck/bbq situations where you want a full stereo sound with imaging comparable to a nice commercial venue.

The JBL Boombox 3 has been a good speaker for me. I haven't got a chance to really use it for event's but I listen to it between 70% to 80% as I do with most of my speakers but as far as handling it does make my arms hurt from time to time😅( kinda makes me fell weak)but I don't regret buying it at all but for 500$ not so much anymore because of all of the discounts going on with JBL. The Boombox 2 350 and I got my partybox Encore from Sam's club for 250$ and damn it hits hard but the battery isn't good and sound quality isn't on par with the Boombox 3 because the amount of bass it has but if you have a Sam's Club membership you should try it out because it still is lighter than the boombox and takes up less space. Nice video bro Merry Christmas

I just placed my order for the Boom Box 3. I love JBl products. I have the Party Box 110 and one their mini speakers and none of their products has disappointed me yet.
@@raider52cg well The 110 is more of a large speaker that you would use for parties and stuff like that. The Boom Box 3 can definitely fill a room will good quality sound, but the 110 is a monster.

@@raider52cg Really? The bass on my 110 is quite punchy and deep. I haven’t use the boom box 3 outside yet. I have only owned it for a few weeks but it will definitely get some outside usage this spring and summer season when we got to the beach especially. But inside, the base is deep and very punchy, the sound is very nice with no distortions so far.
Absolutely love it, originally had the Boombox 1 - held off on the 2 after seeing comparisons, but woo wee Boombox 3 is a serious upgrade. Sounds fantastic for movies too - theatrical surround sounding in a single boombox.
@AgusB69420 JBL seems to have crap batteries throughout their range... I have a jbl flip 4 that was bought close to release date (mid 2017) and it can barely last 1h on full charge now... it stopped being usable for like a couple of years ago so makes me think JBL does planned obsolescence... Sony is alot better in that compartment & their batteries have low drain.. Lasts much longer than jbl = better usability.
You're going to love it. I had mine now almost 2 weeks and it rocks. Walmart had it for $377 and I had to go or call 4 Walmart's to finally get my hands on it.
Would you say its really a big step above the Boombox 2 when you have the EQ of the BB2 at 0 0 +1? I have the 2 and stock it tends to sound rather muffled below 90% volume, so I bump up the treble one notch, so +1, and then it’s fine imo. So since the BB3 is brighter and separates the sound better, it doesn’t need any EQ, so in that case would you still say there’s a big difference between the BB2 with boosted treble and the BB3?
That's the main difference to me. I've always found the BB2 to be muffled. I can play the BB3 at 20-30% and still hear all of the treble and mids without touching the EQ.
Ok, I played are with the BB2 against the Flat EQ of the BB3. It sounds brighter when you raise the treble, but still doesn't give the brightness or separation of the BB3 in my opinion.
I have 2 Charge 5's and a Charge 3 so I thought the Boombox 3 would be an awesome addition. I can say after just a couple days, I'm extremely disappointed in the poor connectivity via bluetooth. I have tried several different phones, tablets, Alexa's etc and there is nothing but cutting out constantly from the speaker. Software is up to date according to the JBL App. It seems I am packing it back up and sending back.
I have 1, boombox 2 . 2, charge 5's and 4 flip 5's. My wife is buying me a boombox 3 for Christmas and has just bought it for £279.99. They already sound great all linked together in partyboost mode but be even better with the addition of the boombox 3.
Do you observe worse sound quality when turning on the PartyBoost? I have a feeling that sound is amazing when the feature is turned off, but gets a noticeably worse when I turn it on (even when no other JBL speaker is connected yet).
I got the Thodio A-BOX for my son this Christmas, according to him, "best present ever". The sound is incredible, 320 watts, audiophile components, and a huge battery to take this great sound everywhere
One thing that annoys me about the smaller JBL's ive owned(charge/extreme) is the tube/cylinder design rolls if you set it on a non-level surface or bump into it. Looks like it could potentially be a more dramatic issue with this larger Boombox. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks for the review BTW!
I personally don't have one, but some people say it's fine when you are playing music, and it doesn't fall over however if you were to bump it it could fall over. Hope this helps
Yeah it can roll if you bump it but it's built like a tank and will not likely damage the speaker in any way. Also remember this isn't a small 3w 5w or 10w speaker. It's meant to be set on a table, shelf, bench, ground, etc so it doesn't get bumped into. The UE Hyperboom is square if that more your style
Big question! I have the boombox 2. I was thinking of picking of the 3 or..... 3 Soundcore motion boom plus I could get 3 of those for the price of 1 boombox 3. Thought porfavor.... thanks
Does it have a microphone though? My Boombox 3 cant be used for calling as it hasn't got any microphone but I heard the wifi version has got built in microphone that can optimize sound quality based on room structure but can that microphone be used for calls?
I have three of them; fell in love after the second purchase, felt a little crazy after the third because, well, the American economy sucks and it almost seems selfish to own this many so soon and guess what.... I'm thinking of totally buying a fourth one this coming Tuesday afternoon 😉
@@BeastenBeaner Remember at that price as most are mentioned they are "Renewed or reconditioned". But a good price. I bought mine thru Walmart for $377.00 non renewed.
I got mine the other weekend and went from taking it out the box at the party we had it on from 3pm until about 2am when it died, the sound was never full blast though as its noise-complaint loud when you get up that high. The party was rocking with about 20 of us running it at about 50% ish volume, getting quieter later in the evening.
Idk how but I secured a JBL boombox 2 before JBL raised there prices in summer 2021 for €329 which is basically the same in dollars, I can’t really justify buying this for 500 considering a 310 is €479
My boombox 3 only lasted 3 days then bricked itself. I wish it would not be junk. I wanted it to be great. I have to spend the time to send it back and hope I get on that works. I’ll probably go to another brand even though it did sound nice for a couple hours. The battery life is very short compared to the advertising. Also it only has a range of 25 feet maximum then it cuts out. That’s outside. Inside you phone basically has to be on it or that’s it. I’m using an iPhone 14 Pro Max
I have one of these, I bought it because I wanted a louder JBL speaker than my last as I do outdoor work with a crew, I'm actually very surprised how well it performs. This guy did a good real review on it because I had the same experience with mine as he did. Definitely worth the money but depending on where you live price is different. I got mine for $800 with tax and shipping in Canada. But in my eyes still a good product and worth the price!
I have extreme 2. I'm impressed with it but not satisfied. Because I'm a welder, lots of cutting steels and welding. I just have the feeling, Tribit stormbox blast would do the job.. What's your honest thoughts on tribit stormbox blast.. BB3 Or tribit for my work site.
I personally never used the BB3 but I have the OG Boombox best portable speaker ever owned I personally bought 2 JBL Xtreme and put them in stereo and tested next to MY Boombox and afterwards I returned both Xtremes Didn’t come close to The sound of the Boombox and I tested with and without ac power only thing I liked about the Xtreme was a shoulder strap other than that it sounded thin compared to BoomBox and he’s right that speaker is a party anywhere I’ve brought it shortly after that we’re cracking beers and taking shots check out Flossy Carter comparison videos
I've never heard the Blast, but I will say this... If you want the best quality of sound and a solid, durable build JBL BB3 all day. Since you work in that environment, I would hate to see your $500 speaker get damaged... So that's where I lean towards the Blast.
That choice it totally up to you, especially with the prices being vastly different between the three of them. As you can see, I'm VERY please with the Boombox 3
I have the soundcore motion boom plus, and I have to say it is a great sounding speaker. Rate balanced, sound and very detailed, mitts and highs. Bass is also good once you turn up the bass in the app using the EQ settings.
I just got my boom box 3. I can clearly hear the dedicated center bass speaker. I like it. However it's just one of the Bluetooth speakers I like. It passed the hype test.
I started with the flip 5..loved it...then went up to the charge 5 camo and got 2 of those and I pair all 3 for music and movie watching. Its amazing...bout to upgrade for 2 boombox 3 camos...has to save for those though ha ha. JBL are the shit worth every penny
@@NewStuffTV1 Its an amazing speaker it would be a great competitor, and you should try it out if you get the chance to. But thanks for the reply and I always enjoy your reviews.
There is an audio jack on the back. I've not usually had great experience with trying to sync bluetooth audio up to video speaking, but also not tried with the bb3.
I like my music at around 90% on my UE and the bass is more boomy at higher volumes, I haven't experienced any hearing loss from it because I listen to it for a very short period of time.
@@Pupp3tmaster-uq3yz wow. 90 percent? I have had my boom 3 for a few days and I am at 40 to 60 max sound. I had to turn that bass away down. Some songs the bass still booms no matter what.
@@calgary2800 The UE produces mid bass, so I don't have to mess with the EQ nor do I tough the EQ because like he said the speakers have a signature sound and when you mess with EQ you are ruining the experience that Sony, JBL, and Logitech are giving you.
@@Pupp3tmaster-uq3yz I have messed with the Boom's sound so much it probably can pass for a altec Lansing speaker now. I have a motion boom plus on order. It's nice to come home to nice stuff after a long day at work.
I don’t think it’s that impressive outside. It’ll get loud , but it slacks bass after 50-60% of volume . It’s like the bass just falls off , the more volume you give it . I was disappointed. It is good sounding boombox ! Sounds good has good bass , good bass pressure, but doesn’t get all that “loud” everything stays controlled I agree! But doesn’t get louder in bass, only the highs will get louder , but even the highs don’t sound has “dynamic at a higher volume” It does pretty good inside . Definitely notice the bass , and you can have it up like 40-60% volume in the house and it sounds good , and full. Depends how big the room is or sumin lol. But outside it’s not that impressive.
I'm able to buy a BoomBox 2for 175 or a Boombxo 3 for 220, will use it mainly for in the trunk of my car. Which one would you recommend for my user case?
@@edensl8759 It´s kinda weird. The bass i both to strong and to weak at the same time. Have tried to adjust EQ and other settings in both Android and Windows but it´s hard to make the bass kick in at the right time. Feels more like a speaker for the car ^^
@@Landelutt well the partybox on the go has one driver and i also think its too little for that big of a cabnet... i used the boombox 3 in the car and it shakes the windows of the car... insane bass
Indoors im guessing you use the boombox 3 at normal volumes, its too loud for indoors, i use mids and treble in max, because the clarity and detail are the best at that setting, but at high volumes i would lower them a bit
I want to know more about the battery.... I baught this after the oncore was the best sounding but didn't last long enough .... even more disappointed in the boombox 3 5 or 6 hours at max volume

The sound quality remains the same, but sometimes I hear a random popping sound.
I got the Thodio A-BOX for my son this Christmas, according to him, "best present ever". The sound is incredible, 320 watts, audiophile components, and a huge battery to take this great sound everywhere
I'm considering buying the BB3, I heard it's good for Big Parties 20-25 people, is that good for parties outside?
No. Just buy partybox 310 if parties is your thingy. ❤
The UE Hyperboom is square if that more your style
i would love if you made a public playlist of all the music you listen to around the house
Thanks😃🙃 is it still watepfroof ?i need it for cayaking
Yes, I have seen people literally dunk the entire thing in their pools, so yes highly waterproof
Big question! I have the boombox 2. I was thinking of picking of the 3 or..... 3 Soundcore motion boom plus I could get 3 of those for the price of 1 boombox 3. Thought porfavor.... thanks
Personally I would still choose the BB3. Plus, since you already have the BB2, you can PartyBoost them.
Does it have a microphone though? My Boombox 3 cant be used for calling as it hasn't got any microphone but I heard the wifi version has got built in microphone that can optimize sound quality based on room structure but can that microphone be used for calls?
I got 2 boombox 3 this december when the price droped to 300 CHF (~321$) in switzerland.
I have three of them; fell in love after the second purchase, felt a little crazy after the third because, well, the American economy sucks and it almost seems selfish to own this many so soon and guess what.... I'm thinking of totally buying a fourth one this coming Tuesday afternoon 😉
@@Sssummerfalll youre crazy man
Oh man, this is what a review must be.
I need help man, which would it be, Soundcore motion boom plus, or that BB3?
If you've got the money for the BB3, you won't regret it. It sounds noticeably better than the Soundcore.
How does it stack up with 2 Sonos Era 300s?
BB2 is now $299. Is the BB3 worth the difference?
The bb3 is 349.99 on Amazon.
@@BeastenBeaner Remember at that price as most are mentioned they are "Renewed or reconditioned". But a good price. I bought mine thru Walmart for $377.00 non renewed.
Is there something wrong in mine, it takes 4 hours to charge empty to full and batterylife is about 10-11hours at 50% volume, anyone has same problem?
Does anyone have any feedback for ACTAUL battery life as I know I won’t get 24 hours like JBL claims
I got JBL BB3. The battery will last up 6 to hrs using full volume. My JBL XTREME 3 is way more better when it comes to battery…
The bb2 last 6 hours on max volume
I got mine the other weekend and went from taking it out the box at the party we had it on from 3pm until about 2am when it died, the sound was never full blast though as its noise-complaint loud when you get up that high. The party was rocking with about 20 of us running it at about 50% ish volume, getting quieter later in the evening.
Do you still have your Hyperboom and if so how does this compare mate? Great vids btw 🤙🏽
Thanks. This pretty much destroys the Hyperboom by the way.
For the car is great!?
506$ on Amazon right now
I got it for €350
Paid 299,00 euro for my boombox
Have you tried the JBL encore essential for around £200? I have 2 and they really rock for the price!
No, I haven't tried any of the JBL party speakers.
@@NewStuffTV1 fair enough
Im looking for an outdoors speaker and am pretty sold on the motion boom plus as the tribit and jbl are just too big is this the right choice?
That choice it totally up to you, especially with the prices being vastly different between the three of them. As you can see, I'm VERY please with the Boombox 3
I have the soundcore motion boom plus, and I have to say it is a great sounding speaker. Rate balanced, sound and very detailed, mitts and highs. Bass is also good once you turn up the bass in the app using the EQ settings.
@@Dressor835 what’s your eq?
How would you rate to Twitter & mid range on the JBL boombox 3, truth be told 🤷🏾♂️
JBL BOOMBOX 3 WIFI is out. What are you doing? You didn't review it yet. :)
I just got my boom box 3. I can clearly hear the dedicated center bass speaker. I like it. However it's just one of the Bluetooth speakers I like. It passed the hype test.
I’m looking for a god gym speaker with bass. What do you recommend?
Can this one be put into low frequency mode ?
I started with the flip 5..loved it...then went up to the charge 5 camo and got 2 of those and I pair all 3 for music and movie watching. Its amazing...bout to upgrade for 2 boombox 3 camos...has to save for those though ha ha. JBL are the shit worth every penny
Do you think this speaker sounds better than the Harmon Kardon Aura Studio 3?
I've never heard that one.
@@NewStuffTV1 Its an amazing speaker it would be a great competitor, and you should try it out if you get the chance to. But thanks for the reply and I always enjoy your reviews.
How does this speaker do if I were projecting a movie in my backyard? Thank you
There is an audio jack on the back. I've not usually had great experience with trying to sync bluetooth audio up to video speaking, but also not tried with the bb3.
I love that you say don't listen too loud!! Save your hearing!!
@@calgary2800 what's a lancing speaker
Love boom box 3
Boombox be boomin
Feel for you man, tendonitis is horrible, been dealing with mine for several years, it's a battle but I wish you well dude.
Look into bpc-157, it is a miracle. You'll be healed up quick
Have u tried "cold therapy" with it? Google it.😊

Happy Holidays to you too!
I'm able to buy a BoomBox 2for 175 or a Boombxo 3 for 220, will use it mainly for in the trunk of my car. Which one would you recommend for my user case?
It will NOT sound good in the trunk of your car. However, for 220, get the BB3 hands down.
The trunk? 😂
I took my jbl back and bought the soundcore motion boom for 125 and an outfit and some groceries and still have money left over. Keep jbl and Bose .
I have the partybox JBL on the go with a microphone. Got i brand new for 135$ which must be a good price. I wonder how it compare to the boombox 3
for 135 that is a great deal
its not a bad speaker, for its purposes, but in terms of power and meat in bass the boombox 3 is a champ
@@landonklosterman4739 Pretty good sound for the money. But it´s kinda big ^^
@@edensl8759 It´s kinda weird. The bass i both to strong and to weak at the same time. Have tried to adjust EQ and other settings in both Android and Windows but it´s hard to make the bass kick in at the right time. Feels more like a speaker for the car ^^
@@Landelutt well the partybox on the go has one driver and i also think its too little for that big of a cabnet...
i used the boombox 3 in the car and it shakes the windows of the car... insane bass
Playing music on a flash drive?
Have jbl sponcer you on the jbl partybox 100 from personal experience it is a very good speaker
any eq setting recommendation?
I listen to it mostly on a flat EQ. Sometimes I'll just bring the treble (3rd slider) down one notch.
Indoors im guessing you use the boombox 3 at normal volumes, its too loud for indoors, i use mids and treble in max, because the clarity and detail are the best at that setting, but at high volumes i would lower them a bit
Very good product but I still hate it that usb can't play for such an expensive boombox.. without phone you cant play..
Money can’t buy happiness they said
“ very controlled sound system “👍🏾
Very convincing review. I just may finally do the $500 leap. One question, don't understand that $500 club comment 🤣🤣🤣
Yeeeeeaaaah riiiiiiiight! 🤣🤣🤣👊🏾
CAN U EXPLAIN BATTERY BACK UP ON 90 %VOLUME
I want to know more about the battery.... I baught this after the oncore was the best sounding but didn't last long enough .... even more disappointed in the boombox 3 5 or 6 hours at max volume
Agree, JBL makes good products. $500 is overpriced, but i will definitely pick up one when it goes on sale $300-$350
I promise you, you'll grow grey hair while waiting.
You should divorce your wife or find yourself a second job there is no excuse I have three and buying my fourth one in less than three days when you pair these no kidding you have a dream theater without all of the annoying treble when you rest these on something soft 💺

i bet this speaker would be funny to prank the dog with, put it in the bathroom and play a video of a dog barking and the dog will go looking for it because the speaker makes it sound like its there.
