Rip Sergio forever""" your dearly MUSIC Will lives on forever.....lani hall,s MUSIC ITS so VERY nice n KINDA SWEET Bossa brazilian GREETINGSSSS FROM SOUTH OF SPAIN ❤
Farewell and job superbly done, Sergio Mendez. Along with Herb Alpert and Burt Bacharach, your brilliance makes up what I like to refer to as the 60s 'musical TRIFECTA.' Oh how we need your smooth, sophisticated, bosa-nova interpretations of catchy melodies more NOW than ever -- particularly when acknowledging the cultural wasteland in which we presently find ourselves. And one more thing: I can only imagine, or rather HOPE, that Joni Mitchell was pleased when she heard her 'Chelsea Morning' performed.

love Sergio and Brazil 66 and all the variations. don't get why people single out Lani Hall . both girls were great. wonder if Abba ever listened to them..r.i.p. you were great.
According to Wikipedia, "The Look of Love" is a popular song composed by Burt Bacharach and Hal David and originally popularized by English pop singer Dusty Springfield. The song is notable for its sensuality and its relaxed bossa nova rhythm.[2][3] The song was featured in an extended slow-motion interlude to the 1967 spoof James Bond film Casino Royale. In 2008, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.[4] It also received a Best Song nomination at the 1968 Academy Awards. The song partially inspired the film Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997).[5]🎉
‘The Look of Love” was written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David specifically for the original, comedic adaptation of Casino Royale released in 1967. It was performed by Dusty Springfield in the film and became one of her most iconic recordings . This version of Casino Royale was a satirical take on the Bond series, and Bacharach’s lush, jazzy score played a key role in its distinctive tone. “The Look of Love” was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song and has since become a standard, widely recognized as a classic.
Very True! It is very surreal to watch Karen Philipp lip synch Lani's solo. Actually, this is version 4 of Brasil'66. (Lani and Bibi Vogel), (Lani and Janis Hansen), (Lani and Karen Philipp), and (Karen Philipp and Gracinha Leporace). Lani was leaving Brasil'66 to focus on her relationship with Herb Alpert. Gracinha Leporace took over for Lani. Just gonna state the obvious - Gracinha married Sergio Mendes and still sings with him today.
Mind if I ask what happened to the Easy To Be Hard and Norwegian Wood video? Are you ever gonna like reupload it? You know you could unlist it and put the link in another description!
For the life of me, I can’t figure out if this is pre-recorded lip-synching or not. It doesn’t really matter. I know that Sergio Mendes and Brazil 66 were very well rehearsed, and they could duplicate their record when they had to.
I GUESS AT THIS TIME LANI HAD BEEN SWEPT AWAY BY HERB ALFORD AND LEFT SERGIO?
3 месяца назад+1
They all stayed very close friends till he just passed. Lani came back to do stuff as 66 a lot. Karen Philipp was so great and tall and beautiful besides her singing. She was on MASH as Lt. Dish and a whole story as to why she was written out. Too hot. Both super-talents of their day and sound.

Aplausos do Brasil para Sérgio Mendes e os músicos e às Cantoras!
RIP. Thanks so much for the great music. The two female singers, their voices blended perfectly. Backdrop to my childhood. I was so lucky!!
haha,,the reason they blended well was because they were both lani hall...in fact neither of the two eye candy girls had nothing to do with it
Love them forever ❤😊.

love Sergio and Brazil 66 and all the variations. don't get why people single out Lani Hall . both girls were great. wonder if Abba ever listened to them..r.i.p. you were great.
She had a very distinctive timbre, that's why
Lani Hall gave them their vocal sound. It’s not as good without her.
WHERE IS LANI HALL?,.....My FIRST Love from .Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66
Lani made marriage her priority. It's not as if Sergio her leaves the group.
Maestro , creador de una fusion musical, que nos atrapo todos en los años 60

this is POST Lani Hall, but sounds pretty good still,
They could never replace Lani Hall. She was a once-in-a-lifetime vocalist.
@@swami1agreed!!!
No conocí esta versión con Gracinha Leporace; la tenía registrada con Lani Hall
A Joni Mitchell piece! 👍 Sergio pays homage...
I heard this version before the Joni version. I was quite surprised when I heard the Joni version.
@@bberg6671 and let's be honest, this stands up on its own merits quite nicely, the song was made for a latin rhythm!
It says, under "more", that Karen Phillip was lip-syncing Lani Hall's vocals.
Why wasn't Lani featured in this video in 1971?
Karen Philipp and Gracinha Leporace in 1971.
This is v2 of Brazil '66 ... that is not Lani Hall!

@@bberg6671 Thx, being the purist I am, I just lost interest in their "work product" after Lani and Janis left ...
But I still love Brazilian!
가수 누나들이 싹 바뀌었고 악단 구성원들도 바뀌었네요

Thanks. I was unaware it was being partially blocked - The Norwegian Wood part of it.

I think I found Waldo.
😂😂
I wondered what his wife looked like.
You can search Gracinha Leporace and find pictures of her through out the years.
Lani Hall's voice......but no Lani.
That dance routine was a really poor decision.
loser
Fantastic video.
So sad the sound is in MONO and not in *stereo*...
🥲
I kept the original audio.
