Hi phil brilliant..have to give that a whirl..blimey jack Jones 😳..Pamela Stephenson.. wow...right in the middle of filming not the 9oclock news...too...don't forget mate Halloween night...sky arts 9pm major hammer documentary...keep up the entertaining reviews 👏 😊hammergazz 👍
Hi again Phil.. I watched carrie last night..almost forgotten how great sissy was in that!👍and piper laurie rip...its obviously a slow burner ..but her revenge was sweet..go girl..nice one mate hammergazz
Good film. You never think Compo would be in a horror film but Bill Owen. Jack Jones is miscast as his music is to easy going. I feel someone like Mick Jagger, David Bowie or even Paul Nicholas. The ex wife was played by Jack Palance daughter Holly Palance who was in The Omen and she also auditioned for Lois Lane. I like Pamela Stephenson she got personality. Originally the part was considered fir Kim Basinger. It does lack one or two more violence as there is only two violent scenes. Again worth a watch.
Yeah I recognise her out of the Omen now, the first nanny that kills herself. Although this film is one of Walkers weakest, i still really enjoyed it. Just proves how good his horror films were. Just a pity Jack Jones was the lead.
Good as always Phil. This is another case of 'What could have been'. With David Bowie on board and a US setting it could have been a whole different ball game. Roger Daltrey could have been considered too perhaps?
Quality Phil. I really enjoyed this film too. That first kill was quick and brutal which i thought would have led to more slashing than there was. I agree Jack Jones was the weak link and his music but was still ok amongst a great and surprising cast. Shelia Keith (brill) Compo (scruffy bugger) and Bosley ha! What was that cross dressing scene about🤔.Plus Pamela Stephenson, what a woman she was/is. He could cast em Pete Walker. I reckon Bones will revisit this box-set often. I agree Bowie OR Ferry would've been great here. Look forward to your rankings and round-up of this set Phil and Bones. Great stuff👍
Cheers mate. Yeah Jack Jones was weak as the lead. Still a fun film though. Especially liked all the creepy stuff in the house on a night. The strange crying was done well.
Great review Phil, I totally agree the film would have been better with a stronger lead, Jack Jones is so bland and his song is so middle of the road. I always thought that Roger Daltrey would have been a great choice, after all he was no stranger to horror films as he was in The Legacy - from about the same time, 1978! Thank goodness for the lovely Pamela Stephenson and, the always fantastic, Sheila Keith. 6 or 7 out of 10 is a fair score.
I haven’t seen this one Phil but will try and hunt it down.looks to have a great supporting cast but I’ve never heard of the lead Jack Jones ,your right Bowie would have suited it better.
Hope you enjoy the review. Please could you like the video, and also subscribe. This really helps my channel and is most appreciated. Thanks everyone.
Its great you have now reviewed all the Pete Walker horror films Phil.
Yes. And the next video will be a ranking of all his films. Look out for that one.

@garygrimmett7945 Carrie is excellent, one of my favourite Stephen King adaptations. Especially the final act of the film.

Thanks for the review Phil, look forward to your ranking video.
Pete Walker cast some stunning women in his films, Pamela Stephenson was gorgeous! 👍📽
Yeah she’s stunning. Your right about Walker casting these beautiful women. Just as good as Bond girls, if not better.
Good as always Phil. This is another case of 'What could have been'. With David Bowie on board and a US setting it could have been a whole different ball game. Roger Daltrey could have been considered too perhaps?
Cheers mate. Yes Roger Daltrey would’ve been perfect. He has that pop star charisma that the lead character needed.

RIP Jack Jones. He passed away just a couple of days before the review.

@@zsatsfm yeah Roger Daltrey would’ve been perfect. He was good in The Legacy. Or someone like David Bowie. Would’ve been a much stronger film.
Our reviewer is very league of gentleman/inside no9/psychoville...in a good eay 😂😊🙏

Yeah wished they had casted a different lead. Bowie would’ve been great in it.
There is a good copy here on yt on the channel Flick Vault. I left a link but yt removed it. They're fussy like that.
Yes its a good channel for films that one. Think they have a few good films on that.
