With mcdaniels shooting struggles. I feel like he can play that lite aaron Gordon roll, cutting and a lob threat. He came from Toronto when it was all iso ball and figuring out ur own shot. On the kings i can see it being different with getting better shots with us
I think the part that we "lost" offensively was in large part due to shooting and guys learning how their conditioning needs to grow to become a 2-Way team. Some of the shooting was a mental drain and some especially early was legs and form being off from working harder on defense.
I dont expect anything from Carter this year. When he will be back kings will be fighting for better spot so there wont be time to develope him. All i want from him is to get fully healthy get some playing time in g-league and be ready for 25-26 campaign. I am much more interested how gonna look murray and ellis. I really wish murray will develope some 1vs1 play. Its good that we have derozan now, murray will be able to develope on his own speed with less presure. While i have huge hopes on ellis i believe he can become our danny green. I already cant wair 25/26 season. Fox, monk, ellis and carter it might be one of best (if not the best) guards line in league. P.s. i really liked your guest. I found this thoughts very interesting and for sure will check his site.
Also i am not a big fan of monk starting. We already have 2 guys who can create a shot also 2 weakspots on def (derozan and sabonis). Adding derozan and monk same time might really make off a bit overcrowded and def would hurt even more. Also who would be our spark from bench then? I think monk was finishing games mostly bc he was best sg on team, huerter was really sruggling and ellis was still in process. And i believe ellis worked hard during summer and is ready to be starter. Also imo monk often was finishing bc we lacked players that could create thier shots. Now we have derozan. All in all atm i see ellis as starting sg and monk as first to come from bench and playing bigger minutes like 28 (he will be our back up pg now)or so. No doubts he can and will be in finishing rotation when he will on fire or ellis will have a bad night. But again we dont know derozan will fit but i just dont to limit what ellis gives on def end. His impact on this area was huge and i believe he didint show his best yet.
Monk starting won’t give teams a different look when we are having a rough start. And usually a Shooting guard that starts are a great defender and by the time monk is coming in that great defender will be coming out. Which leads monk to cook with that green light. Talked about having to feed deroz and fox, when monk comes in he will be scoring and feeding without feeling like he has to defer to monk and derozan. Monk is the best at his role. Why change it
