One of my favorite things about this film is that 'Blame Canada' was nominated for best song at the Oscars and was performed by Robin Williams live. It's funny how even to this day, there are still people who miss the entire point of that song and think it's just SP unironically insulting Canadians when it's clearly a slap at soccer parents.
Its funny how Cartman is supposed to be the psychopath in later seasons, but in the early seasons, Kyle's just kicking babies through windows and noone says shit
Fun bit of trivia: the Motion Picture Association said that if they had 400 swear words or more in the movie, it would need to be rated NC-17 instead of R. So Matt and Trey put in EXACTLY 399.
It’s wild how Cartmans mom has this sweet calm voice yet does the most wild stuff. Like she said Okey Dokey like someone was gonna give her a hug or a homeless person asked for some money from her not the wild stuff she was really doing.
Fun facts: • In the Guinness World Records 2001, this film was said to have the most profanity used in an animated film. The book cited a total of 399 swear words, including 146 uses of the word "f***," along with 199 offensive gestures and 221 acts of violence. This movie was the highest-grossing R-rated animated film until Sausage Party (2016) outgrossed it seventeen years later. This film originally had an NC- 17 rating . • When the children are in rehab a poster in the back of Mr. Mackey's room reads, "Get High!!! On Pottery," which was a quote from a high school teacher of Matt Stone's. The original quote was, "Son, you need to know not to use pot as a natural high. Instead of getting high with pot, get high with pottery." • In the credits both Saddam Hussein (Matt Stone) and Satan (Trey Parker) are listed as playing themselves. • Trey Parker and Matt Stone did not need to get Brian Boitano's permission to use his name and likeness for the song "What Would Brian Boitano Do?" A few years later Boitano did need to get, and received, Parker and Stone's permission to use the phrase on T-shirts that he sold for charity. • James Hetfield of Metallica sings "Hell Isn't Good." • The song "Blame Canada" was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song, but it lost to Phil Collins' "You'll Be In My Heart" (from Tarzan (1999)). In return, Trey Parker and Matt Stone ridiculed Collins in the fourth season of South Park (2000). • Tweek was the only series regular not to appear in this film at all. Cartman calls "The Mole" (the French boy) British. On the TV show, he called Pip (the English boy) French. • This film marked the first time in the entire series that Kenny is seen without his hood on.
I remember I used to buy movies from the $5 bin at Walmart all the time, and I picked this one because it had cartoons on the cover, my mom didn't think anything of it either and man did this movie change me
I had a similar thing happen with Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny. My dad rented it for my brothers and I when we were kids because it had Jack Black in it xD

Something cool I like about this movie; when Kenny is doing his whole going to heaven then falling to hell thing, the music is actually performed by Metallica!
So Trey got nominated for an academy award for Blame Canada. Matt and Trey HATE Hollywood. So they each got dresses made based on two really famous Oscar dresses (J. Lo and Gwyneth Paltrow). You know how Kenny's mom/Carol said: "Sure, go and see that movie! Miss church and you can answer to satan!" And kenny said: "Ok!" That's why he went to hell😔
This was a long time coming brother. This movie is so iconic and I hope they redo it to end off the show. Really closes off the end of the early South Park era into the 2000s phenomenon it’s become.
When you hear Kenny talk after he takes his hood down that's actually Mike Judge doing the voice of Kenny for that one scene. ( the same guy that does Beavis and Butt also King of The Hill )
My parents are so awesome they took me to see this movie in the local theater when I was just 10 years old lol. It was so damn funny! And yes there were people walking out of the theater during the Terrence and Phillip song just like they were doing in the movie! 😂
Fun Fact: Wild Wild West despite being a bad movie did well at the Box Office because a lot of kids brought tickets to see it but snuck in to watch the South Park movie
yeah when this came out everybody was talking about Kenny reveal and being blonde, the uncle fucker music, fire farts and the almost 2 minute Kille's mom is a b song. that song had so many bitch it was groundbreaking at the time, just like the shit episode where they have a counter how many times they say it because they had a legal limit to be pg13 (i think)
As a Canadian, I could tell you most Canadians love blame Canada such a great song. Canadians and Americans make fun of each other all the time it’s just fun and games none of it is every person.
My favorite throwaway gag? The sequence where the military general shoots bill gates point blank, I’m a longtime Mac guy and back then I was one of those stereotypical ‘rabid Mac fanatics’ that considered bill gates and Microsoft my personal enemies, I was so happy seeing the animated SP bill gates eat a .45ACP round ;)
Random fact: Matt and Trey thought this would be the end of the franchise when they made it, so they decided to go big with a full Broadway musical with Terrence and Phillip being based on the complaints people had about South Park itself
21:52 I used to think the same until I rewatched "The Entity"; he survived the head tap and had bandages on his forehead. Then he became a full blown gansta in the black friday trilogy
@@TastySalamanders In that case his injures should have healed but he still had bandages on his forehead in S5 to patch it up; therefore he never died in the first place
The revised version of Kyle's Mom's A B is such a banger. Fun fact: the song Uncle F*(ker was ORIGINALLY called Motherf*(ker. But apparently the use of that other word would've made the rating NC17. Another fun fact, this film was SUPPOSED to be called A Hell Breaks Loose, but Viacom insisted that a movie couldn't have Hell in the title. So Matt And Trey, being Matt and Trey renamed it Bigger Longer And Uncut[as a d!(k joke.] Viacom APROVED the name until 2 weeks before release(getting the joke just then). But at that point it was too late. A 3rd fun fact: Brent Spiner(from Star Trek TNG, plays Conan), Eric Idle(of Monty Python, played the V-Chip Dr), and George Clooney 😂(at the time was known for being in ER playing Kenny's Dr) are celebrities who leant their voices to this film ( it was George's second Voice work with Matt and Trey as he previously voiced Sparky in big gay Al's big gay boat ride, I guess as a thank you since without George South Park probably wouldn't have reached the heights that it did in the early seasons). A fourth fun fact, Blame Canada was oscar nominated ( and performed at the ceremony by none other than Robin Williams himself), but lost to Phil Collins and his work on Disney's Tarzan. Which is why in a later season when Timmy joins a metal band they basically take an entire episode to $h!t on Phil Collins. The "Cartman's mom in a poo video" joke never fails to make me laugh( especially after the earlier joke when Leanne was the only one who was able to describe one of the words that the Boys were saying) Final fun fact, this movie is actually in the Canon of the show as the events between Saddam and Satan are referenced in the episode ladder to heaven. This is also the first time in the shows canon in which we find out that Kenny is actually blonde and that we hear him on muffled( voiced by Beavis and Butthead as well as King of the Hill Creator Mike Judge). Ok 2 more, when Matt and Trey wrote the opening number quiet little mountain town it is one of the only songs on the soundtrack that does not have any cursing. They did this to rip on typical Disney musicals as well as an in-joke for people not knowing what to expect from a South Park movie and then they did the rug pull with Uncle F♤(ker. In addition I believe this movie is in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most curse words uttered in an animated feature which tops out at just under the 400 that it would take in order to get this movies rating bumped up from 18A(R in the US) to NC17.
The DVD commentary for this movie is great, matt and trey were doing shit like taking the original copies of the trailer because they didn't like the way paramount did it. Pretty much the only reason matt and trey were able to be involved with the movie is because they do almost all the voices.
Fun fact Kenny unhooded in this movie was voiced by Mike judge who is the creator of beavis and butthead and Issac Hayes who voices chef made the theme song for beavis and butthead do America
I think it’s funny that given the point of this movie we’re here in 2024 and he has to mute every swear word in this video but he got away without censoring the boobs in heaven or Conan’s body splattering on a car.
The Blame Canada song was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 72nd Academy Awards and lost to Phil Collins' song "You'll Be in My Heart" from Tarzan, which was parodied on an episode of South Park released the following year, "Timmy 2000", as "You'll Be in Me".
You don’t understand. So many of us didn’t watch South Park on Comedy Central because we were kids. This was the movie that introduced us to South Park. I still remember the first time I ever watched this movie. My cousin and I were like 9 and 10 and we could not believe that the cartoon characters were being vulgar and cursing non stop. That scene with the kids in the movie theater completely mesmerized was me and my cousin and all our little friends. This movie was revolutionary because it was bold but also because it was actually good with a brilliant plot that we appreciated as we got older and started to understand the political satire. This movie was a pioneer into raunchy cartoon movies and in my opinion is still the best that can’t be touched.
This is where it all started for me one day in 2004 little 7 year old me was being baby sat by my brother and he played this and I been a fan of south park ever since

How did you not comment on the funniest line in that scene Chef: Haven't you heard of the Emancipation Proclamation? General: I don't listen to hip-hop.
Man i just love this movie so much, Matt and Trey were so petty there is exactly 399 swears, one more and they would have gotten an R rating haha. Plus the fact that "blame Canada" won an award, chef kiss 👌😂
As far as continuity, Bill Gates was resurrected with the ending. And Kenny has been shown multiple times on the show since then (with unmuffled dialogue). When he becomes Mysterion as well as filling in for Blanket on The Jeffersons episode. He also spoke (well, in his head, but we hear it) in Turd Burglars.
14:51 Yes, but... you MUST play The Fractured But Whole😎😎 trust me, play it, the is a really stupid but funny quest😅. I'm wondering if they will put that song on Snowday too😂
You should react to the pandemic special and all the sequels to it! You'd be surprised how emotional it gets, especially at the end of post COVID part 2!
Fun facts Comedy Central tried to get the movie 13+ because at the time r rated movies didn't make much money in theatres. They also tried to make Trey and Matt not make it a musical because they also don't make a lot of money but the creators alwats wanyed it to be a musical. The creators are big fans of musicals they even created their own besides the south park one. Then Christophe is based on Marius from Les Miserables and Gregory is based on Enjorales from Les Miserables. The guys have also been pretty open about despising Barbara Streisand which is why its considered a curse word that zaps Satan in the end lol
Waaaay back in season 1 of the show we got some little gems that would serve as inspiration for this movie. Beavis and Butthead were pretty revolutionary too, and before them it was The Simpsons. Matt and Trey definitely took the movie as an opportunity to flex their musical muscle and to take some pretty poignant shots at their critics, primarily the ones calling for their cancellation on South Park as being morally offensive. Matt and Trey took it quite personally that when it came to television, sex and violence got a lot of free reign, but when it came to swearing and crude humor suddenly everything needed a censor. Now people mostly stream shows and movies but I remember being a kid when this movie came out. Television censorship and protecting kids from mature programs was a BIG deal at the time. The V-Chip put in Cartman's head was a real thing. Of course, the movie turned it into a satire, but what it actually was isn't too far off the concept. They put them in newer model televisions at the time and they were supposed to be programable to detect mature content and be able to block the t.v. from accessing certain channels like a television babysitter. They must have proved either too expensive or too ineffective though as they never truly caught on. About that same time we got the TV rating system blocks that listed the maturity level the show was intended for and that seemed to make the v-chip rather moot out the gate.
you should definitely check out the south park concert now it was a big show live from colorado and you have seen enough now to check it out. might not be able to react to it and get it on youtube cause its like 90% music but its amazing you should definitely check it out if you get a chance. nobody has done what south park has done from 20+ seasons to a movie to musicals winning tony awards these dudes are some of the greatest entertainment talents of all time

Thanks to things like OnlyFans, this is sadly going to wind up being the fate of some kids.
How did you not comment on the funniest line in that scene
Chef:
Haven't you heard of the Emancipation Proclamation?
General:
I don't listen to hip-hop.
13:45 - Policing the world! Means only one thing. Team America: World Police needs to be watched!!
Man i just love this movie so much, Matt and Trey were so petty there is exactly 399 swears, one more and they would have gotten an R rating haha. Plus the fact that "blame Canada" won an award, chef kiss 👌😂
I just realised the double entendre in the title 😂
As far as continuity, Bill Gates was resurrected with the ending.
And Kenny has been shown multiple times on the show since then (with unmuffled dialogue). When he becomes Mysterion as well as filling in for Blanket on The Jeffersons episode. He also spoke (well, in his head, but we hear it) in Turd Burglars.
The real Saddam Hussein died in 2006. His last South Park appearance was in "It's Christmas In Canada" in season 7 (2003).
I actually went to see the movie in 99 with my uncle. That was an epic escapade with him.
14:51 Yes, but... you MUST play The Fractured But Whole😎😎 trust me, play it, the is a really stupid but funny quest😅. I'm wondering if they will put that song on Snowday too😂
What do you mean why the salt? SHIT HURTS
10:06 Yes Conan did react to this scene in an interview with Matt and Trey during around the time of release of the movie
What this has to do with the part going to hell?
@@ΚωνσταντίνοςΚατσίμπελης madaf what?
Best joke in the movie, and possibly the whole show, is the "hip-hop"-one.
Shame you missed it.
You should react to the pandemic special and all the sequels to it! You'd be surprised how emotional it gets, especially at the end of post COVID part 2!
I think he's been iffy on it due to COVID setting off the algorithm.
It's coming
@@BrytonBandsouth park sets off the algorithm anyway bro
@@DisfunktionalTV LETS GO POST COVID ONE AND TWO!!!!!
"eleventy" 😭
Is that Eric idle as the v chip doctor 😂😂
Cmon man admit the songs in this were friggin awesome. All original and hilarious.
it's been over 20 years and i still don't understand why saddam hussein is portrayed as canadian
Probably a callback to 'Not Without My Anus', where Saddam Hussein took over Canada.
@@BAKU2K2 Did Saddam look like that in the episode? I don't remember but think he meant why they gave him the floppy head in the first place.
@@christofferjenzen78 Yes, him and every other Iranian/Iraqi in that episode was too.
It's a celeb head. Otherwise it would be illustrated. Or I'm wrong and Christina Aguilera is Canadian
@@brownstarslots see i was thinking that at first but then why would they also give them the typical sp canadian accents?
1:33 6:33 13:10 16:20 22:15 28:38 all adds 6 fucking adds man youtube sucks without ad blocker. but anyway bro love the reaction
Thanks man. But how you think RUclipsrs get paid?
I was 11 when this came out. Saw it maybe a year later. To that point, hearing Uncle F-- for the first time was the hardest I had laughed in my life.
“What is 5 x 2?”
“Eleventy”
"Home of the free indeed" is a good pocket phrase to whip out anytime.
Love watching your videos lol. I'm literally in my south park blanket and laying on my south park pillow just watching this
Kyle's mom song is the best 😂😂
As someone who’s seen the movie twice, I can confirm that it is a bop!!!
you should definitely check out the south park concert now it was a big show live from colorado and you have seen enough now to check it out. might not be able to react to it and get it on youtube cause its like 90% music but its amazing you should definitely check it out if you get a chance. nobody has done what south park has done from 20+ seasons to a movie to musicals winning tony awards these dudes are some of the greatest entertainment talents of all time
Cartman having a DBZ power up, complete with the floating rocks, completes the movie
The clit having the voice of the good witch from OZ😂
19:45
Satan amazing singing voice is all thanks to Trey Parker who imo the most underappreciate singer of all time
“You go ahead and miss church and when you die and go to hell you can answer to Satan!” “Ok”
*Kenny dies*
“DUDE WHY IS HE GOING TO HELL??”
Smh lol
Dude, I waited for this one and I thank you for doing this. YOU ROCK!!!!!
Bro this movie still ranks top 5 to me. My parents had the dvd and I remember watching this all the time. This movie is probably the reason for my behavior in middle and high school😂😂
I can't believe this video is still up even with a uncensoring babra strisand
I love how you start this by saying you don't like musicals (me either) but then you're singing along to "Blame Canada" which was nominated for an Oscar. Matt and Trey are DIFFERENT bro!
Best musical ever made
The salt joke is because if you ever get salt in a cut or burn or whatever, it burns like an absolute son of a bitch!
More people should know your channel, so algorithm please.
Hoo boy, I wonder what Ming Lee would think of MAC, seeing how she's basically one of them but Canadian.
One of the best musicals ever. You should definently check out team america world police too.
Blame Canada was nominated for an Academy Award.
That bad baby is also in cuphead
