For anyone that doesn’t understand (bc he doesn’t sell it that well) this keyboard is LEGIT the peak of keyboards for a lot of enthusiasts. People would put in HOURS on HOURS in thrift stores and junkyards to find this thing. Intel is extremely fortunate to have one and I just hope he fully appreciates it.
Found mine at a yard sale years ago for $2. Didn't even know the significance of it when I got it, I was just drawn to it being old, heavy, and clicky.
gotta love patent names lmao, “Catastrophically Buckling Compression Column Switch And Actuator”. Also, the keycaps are dyesub pbt and not doubleshot btw.
@@aksolopl I remember the time I used my laptop to play games, it was basically unplayable because the laptop and the keyboard were so hot I couldn't touch them
The IBM model m was considered as the best keyboard of all time even tho it wasn't a mechanical keyboard. It feels like a mechanical keyboard. But better than blues
I have four of these, and every single one feels a little different because of the age and amount of use they have. One came from a garage attic from apparently 10+ years of storage and it still worked perfectly. another reason these are cool is that the keycaps are double layered, and you can take off the outside font layer and replace it if the font starts to wear out after a while. On another note you should try using it for osu, its very good for stamina lol
Awesome video! For anyone wondering, this keyboard is still being produced today by Unicomp. Not by IBM but it's the same switches and manufacturing process as it was in the 80s.
Story about this keyboard: First off, it is one of the best keyboards ever created My friend who is really tech savvy and helped me build my PC, was at his friends house, and this friend's dad works in IT. They found two Model Ms just under a box in the garage, and my friend FREAKED out, and started spamming pictures of it to me on Discord. The dad was like "ok you can have one of them for free" seeing how excited my friend was. He used it for about two years before the spacebar stopped working, and he was actually heartbroken that his Model M died. The click sounds are amazing. Btw Model Ms are like 200+ bucks online, as they are really old and popular. Edit: It had all the original stickers and was unused
you made a video aboit how to jitterclick, maybe do a video about how to practice jitter best or maybe how you did it, it will help loads of people since no one has ever done that type of video.
I think one point that you got wrong was the keycaps. IBM had their signature keycaps which are dye-sublimed, but still great and super sharp :D Great video!
"That gives the switches a unique feeling I've never felt before" a minute later "I wish more people could try it because I really do like the feeling"
@Intel Edits please read this, commented in last video but i dont know did you read it so i send this again, doublecliks do NOT give advantage in pvp since it isnt stable 20 cps, you click 10 double clicks a second but 2 clicks in like one ms and that doesnt help anything if you understand what i mean butterflying 20 cps is same than 10 cps because the double clicks are so close to each other
I soooo wish IBM made more Model Ms almost the same way because they are so well loved. IBM you have a massive market for Model Ms cmon make some new ones. People will literally pay hundreds for one.
Hey Intel! Love the videooo! Amazing that this IBM keyboard actually is the grandfather of all keyboards. Membrane or Mechanical. Amazing man. Thanks for the video!
Interesting how people still buy old keyboards over state of the art modern gaming keyboards. Surprising how it didn't break down while you were using it. Love the vids! Keep up the great work intel!
