I've been playing since the release of Red and Blue. Charmander will always be my starter.
This is my favorite starter trio. Alola is close. And charmander like many was my very first pokemon

12:37 it was seen in the sun and moon episode where ash returned to kanto, and while it was only about 1 or 2 seconds, it did APPEAR
Some of these facts should've been double checked
- Manga Red and Blue/Green only temporarily traded their starters and traded back pretty quickly.
- Ken Sugamori has actually stated that Venusaur is one of his favourite Pokémon, but its his least favourite to draw due to its complex design
- Charizard had fly as its up b in brawl, flare blitz replaced rock smash in smash 4
- Although Venusaur does resemble Dicynodonts and it could be partially based on them, Ken Sugamori has stated the evolutionary line is based on Frogs

13:50 when ds came out I got the gameboy advance sp along with the camera second-hand from someone I know, but I forgot who. Didn't know camera came out before pokemon, thought it was the other way around.
Actually Charizard wasn't in all the smash bros games you forgot about og Smash bros for the N64 which he wasn't in if i remember correctly
He was a pokeball summon in that game :)

Charizard = Needs Mega Evolution or Dynamax/Gigantamax to be viable in any competitive format.
Venusaur = Is already viable as it is especially in VGC doubles sun teams.
Blastoise = Is ok in competitive.
Despite Charizard's popularity thanks to the influence of the anime and merch, it is actually objectively the worst Kanto starter.

Venusaur will be one of the best in my opinion. If I ever use a Kanto Starter in a Pokémon Game, it’ll be Venusaur.
Charizard will always be the opposite for me because of Sword and Shield. No starter deserves to be the only one in Sword and Shield without DLC or Home, and even with DLC and Home, the Kalos, Sinnoh, Johto, and Unova Starters can’t be obtained.
