I take my hat off to you Paul Shepard the sunset while the trains moving was sensational and spectacular. And while it was running in the darkness of the night was great. Top job
@@paul1089 My Grandfather was a fireman in South Australia on the RX class loco. I love steam locos from all around the world. I am in WA at the moment, and I do not think they have a live steam loco for use.
Thanks Paul. Great stuff. Funny, @ 3:41, the curve of the track into the tunnel. Land drop off to the left must be prominent than it seems. and Edit:- Paul you have to be The Flash, in real life, to get these clips.
G'day. I worked on dh 38 at rosewood for a couple of years. I asked rosewood they didn't give me any answers. But I worked on the entire DH by myself sanding and primer painting it myself. Hope you have just as much fun bringing her back to life with a fresh new paint job.
Well that answers the question about STS. Now can a Steam Loco be hauled out of Steam, and if so what do you have to do to it to make it fit for traffic and what is the Maximum Speed of travel ... don't cheat and ask your brother. 😁
@@paul1089 well done. But not just the connecting rods the eccentric rods too. Before taking off rods you must centre the valve. And test. And whatever you do, make sure the crosshead is blocked in the forward position on everything except tank engines which are blocked in the back position.
Paul. Those sunset silhouette shots are unreal. Great work.
Thanks. I just couldn't let that scene go unrecorded.

Thankyou. That means a lot.
That is some really nice and clear footage of those loco's. Top job Paul.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed watching.

Glad you enjoyed watching Mark. It wasn't too difficult to keep ahead of it.
Well it nice for that engine being in Ipswich I hope he will enjoy Warwick
It'll finally get the chance to really stretch its legs.
@@paul1089 engine don’t have legs they have wheels ha ha ha
Love it
Does anyone have the colour codes for the dh?
We have a dh at Rosewood waiting for a paint job

Well QR towed 974 back dead to Ipswich with the connecting rods removed at 60km/hr or thereabouts.

@Adrian Nettlefold Interesting bit of railway trivia. Always good to know bits of information. Thanks Adrian.
@@adriannettlefold9084 You'll find there is an exception with another loco in the backward position
@@kylegleeson8638 not sure what you mean matey?
What about BB18 1/4 locos
Don't know what's going on with them. I dare say 1037 will be on the mainline before any of QR's.
@@paul1089 Will C17 974 run again?
@Sodor of Memes Once QR conducts the boiler inspection on it, then there's no reason that 974 shouldn't be put back into service.
@@paul1089 Then what's going to happen to C17 974
@Sodor of Memes Right now, I don't know. It's in the queue, is all I know.
