I’ve been lucky enough to see them 3 times since 2015 at house of blues in Nola. They sound better than ever to me. They seriously don’t disappoint live, especially Robert Sweet on drums. Thanks to Jesus Christ for healing Oz Fox. I’m happy for him and his family. God bless stryper 👊
A very average band I was in supported them when the toured Brisbane, Australia. I was lucky enough to be backstage in the catering room talking to them. They were real nice guys, but I was blown away by the amount of foundation makeup the drummer wore. They were amazing though, and I got to see the guitars up close. I used to love their guitar tone. Top band.
Been seeing these guys since 2013 here in michigan everytime they come. I was 15 when i first saw em then. And almost 10 yrs later they're still killing it
Can we take a moment to appreciate Oz Fox's backing vocals? He's like a guitar playing Michael Anthony. EDIT: Thank you God for seeing in your divine wisdom that Oz still belongs with us a little longer.🙏
I worked backstage VIP security in the 80s when stryper played hon.hi hic arena. They were the first band I worked for that had backing tracks, they tested out the tracks at the sound check. They were great throwing lil bibles at the show.
Wow! I’m surprised how good they still sound! I was part of that California 80s Christian metal culture he’s talking about, and it was absolutely phenomenal to be alive in that part of the country, looking at so many bands live, right in front of your face! I went backstage and hung out with Michael Sweet, and Tony Palacios, from the band Guardian, at The Omni in Oakland during Stryper’s Against The Law tour, and I was blown away how good Stryper was. Being a full-time musician myself, I can attest that I’m not just acting like a fan, these guys were phenomenally good, and the lead guitar playing was off the charts.
they sound as great as ever!...it blows my mind that Robert is 60,he still plays like he's 20!and it's awesome to see Oz doing so well and still shredding,PRAISE GOD!!
Stryper's band has great musicians hands down. I would put them all up against any of the big acts of the 80s and beyond. They can hold their and then more.
I seen then years ago at a little club in Allentown Pennsylvania called the Croc Rock. They were amazing. Got to meet them they were so super chill talking with my cousin and I for almost 30 minutes.
Great to see Oz doing well. This is funny about guys looking like girls. During the Depp trial, JD slipped up and said "Aqua Net" instead of "Aqua Man". I laughed.... a lot! Just watched some older video of "Steel Heart". Wow, talking about a lot of hair & gorgeous men. You know the lead singer still can sing very, very well. Looked him up to see what he's been doing. There's a few singers that still have it. Michael Sweet is also one of them.
Ok...Michael, Robert, Oz, and Timothy!!!!! Listen up!! Since 85, I have loved you, sucks you're down there so far. I watched your dad, followed you guys whole hearted, painted my dad's Fender Stratacaster yellow and black...he bought it in 69! Let that tell you something! It's still Yellow And Black Attack!! It originally was sunburst hahaha ha! God I Love You Guys!!!
I LOVED their videos, esp Calling on you.I enjoyed the other MTV videos, but Stryper stuff was special.Robert was(is)a BEAST in those days.Cool kit,Cymbals hanging from chains etc..I wish that scene never changed.Things(Rock)got Dark/Depressing after that.No more over the top showboating,Rock Star...😭😡
My band opened for these guys quite a few times, unfortunate Michael Sweet's voice isn't what it used to be, it's easy to tell when the back up vocals sound better than the lead singer.
I don't know that the falsetta backup vocals were better than his voice, but I see your point. He must have had a cold or a horse throat. That was virtually dreadful especially given it's an octave low. But WOW, this band still sounds better live than nearly any rock concert I've ever been to. I was in the 80s scene pretty heavy myself. What band did you play for if you don't mind me asking?
This is in a suburb of St. Louis however does anyone know the name of the venue they played at? Wow... they sound really incredible...no backing tracks obviously all live.
Stryper you know it’s so weird I was 12 years old in 1988 and I didn’t know one single person that Owned a stryper cd cassette tape or anything other than one human being some fat boy neighbor of mine Jeff Knipp owned Stypers to Hell with the Devil cassette and that was it I never knew one person who is into this band not even remotely. And big fat Jeff wasn’t even into it who is end of this band truly like who the fuck really loved these guys in 1988 87 89??? I didn’t know a single person.
All these rock singers from the 80’s are losing their voices! Jon Bon Jovi…. Vince Neil…. the list goes on! After living decades of drugs and liquor. NOT MICHAEL! He’s just as sharp as he was in the 80’s!
Seeing this video gave me a big shock when listening to Michael, his very weak voice is no longer the same, he has lost a lot of power.😪 An advice to Michael is very old and that he dedicate himself to the grandchildren and let the young Metalheads succeed in music. Enough of showing miseries in his voice... cheers!😎
Go away troll. Michael's doing just fine. And as far as the younger generation of metal musicians goes. Their music sucks. Nothing can replace or live up to the 80s.
This is why I never cared for Sryper as a Christian because you could never tell the difference between them and the secular bands they just mentioned ...after all these years did anyone actually hear a personal testimony about how Jesus saved them? or even reach out to the audience to reach them for Christ other than throw small bibles into the crowd? The Devil loves Stryper because their not a threat to his kingdom.
I have heard Stryper and Michael gives his testimony on how they were saved, on numerous occasions. They are Christians and a Christian band. I know people who got saved after listening to Stryper.
Great to see Oz back in there
I’ve been lucky enough to see them 3 times since 2015 at house of blues in Nola. They sound better than ever to me. They seriously don’t disappoint live, especially Robert Sweet on drums. Thanks to Jesus Christ for healing Oz Fox. I’m happy for him and his family. God bless stryper 👊
Satan approves!

É verdade amigo, a cura do Os Fox foi um grande feito do Senhor, Glória a Deus
I'm addicted to pigger nussy 😎
Been seeing these guys since 2013 here in michigan everytime they come. I was 15 when i first saw em then. And almost 10 yrs later they're still killing it
So awesome to see Oz still on the stage! The prayers have definitely helped!👍🎸
Love Stryper always.... They play awesome everytime....never let any one disheartened. Thanks for this great show....

Man that whole band would of been sweet in 91 to seen. Unfortunately I didn't come in this world until 98
Guardian was a great band.
well said dude. You maybe know where theres live footage from 80s of stryper playing Rock that makes me roll?! its nowhere to be found
@@senben9180 here you go, bro. But it’s not from the 80s. It’s from about 10 or 11 years ago.

Saw these guys with Dokken at the infamous Irvine Meadows the show was amazing!!! Caught a Stryper Bible!!!
Saw them live in the 80s. We hung out outside the doors forever when the concert was over and they graciously let us in to meet the band. Love them!!
Stryper's band has great musicians hands down. I would put them all up against any of the big acts of the 80s and beyond. They can hold their and then more.
They are awesome musicians!! U can't take that from them!!
2 of my fav Stryper songs! 777 Jesus conquered death! Prince of Peace!
Saw these guys in Canberra , Australia 1989 as a 15 yo headbanger. Still listening to them in 2022.
Heaven sounds great!
How I'd love to see them! Lucky crowd.
I seen then years ago at a little club in Allentown Pennsylvania called the Croc Rock. They were amazing. Got to meet them they were so super chill talking with my cousin and I for almost 30 minutes.
Amazing I love this band God bless them always and thanks for sharing
Calling on You -- One of my favorite Stryper songs!! Video was awesome too. TOTALLY 80's.
man theyre playing a lot now, fantastic and still makimg new songs, from 1983-today!!!!!
These guys have aged really well musically. Their last four albums are very solid...I'd say even the strongest four-album run of their career.
OZ made it - thanks Jesus!!
Great music for a Child..Clean Cut..and Rocking
Saw them a few years ago at the intersection in Grand Rapids and they were awesome as well. Love Stryper. Appreciate you!
This was my first live Rock show experienced when they came to PR, back in the 90’s. They were awesome!!!💪❤️
STRYPER WILL NEVER GET OLD & ...
I LOVE EM !!! 👍🏻✝️👍🏻
Great upload! Thank you. Timeless.
Those guys crush any of those 4 bands that are touring together right now in 2022. Wow!
Love it! Oz Foxx sounds great on vocals…on ‘Fee’!! At 8:36 …he’s singing the high part.
One of my favorites
long live Stryper

Stryper,Mid eighties Paramount theater Seattle Washington has to be one of the best shows I've ever seen in my life by any band hands down
Excellent performance! Thanks!👍👊🙌

Saw them in 85 at magic mountain. Epic🔥
Still one of my favorites 💯
Great sound!

Great show! Was about two people to the right of the tall guy on the right edge of the screen.
Awesome
I was there 👊🏻
🎉🎈🎊
they sound as heavy and tight as f@ck!
Luck is of budha. Blessings come from Jesus! Becareful what you say. Think first.
As I was then and as I am now 😦
😎👍💗✝️🇺🇸 💪🥁🔥🎼 💣🔊))ROBERT!!!
This is in a suburb of St. Louis however does anyone know the name of the venue they played at? Wow... they sound really incredible...no backing tracks obviously all live.
Who's garage was this in?
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Stryper : Free. For the haters...I dare you to try to play the solo. Well done Michael Sweet.
Bucket list I have not crossed off yet.
Grande Oz Fox....
I didn't see Baby Yoda up there till almost the end of the video!!!😆😂
Gran vaterista
Where was this ? In St.Peters where, what club????
♪ 3:10 ~
Why so tuned down? Michael's voice seems to be straining to hit this key whereas he wouldn't if they were in the original key.
Great video! Thanks for sharing. Check out Working Better Together full concert video. It’s really good.
AUDIO GUY…..WHERE ARE THE EFX ON THE VOICES…..ITS 80’s metal
Strypers michael sweet afirms they dont do cristian rock, i have some songs that refer to God and also consider it secular, my lifes the same way
Stryper you know it’s so weird I was 12 years old in 1988 and I didn’t know one single person that Owned a stryper cd cassette tape or anything other than one human being some fat boy neighbor of mine Jeff Knipp owned Stypers to Hell with the Devil cassette and that was it I never knew one person who is into this band not even remotely.

Less talking... more rockin'...
Robert sweet look like a girl back then what are you talking about Heather Thomas all the way
I don't remember guys looking like girls at Fort Zumwalt in the 80s. Probably now they do.
Ma sono finiti a suonare nei bar?
This has to be the smallest place Stryper has ever played
kinda sad.
6:56
I think they like stripes
All these rock singers from the 80’s are losing their voices! Jon Bon Jovi…. Vince Neil…. the list goes on! After living decades of drugs and liquor. NOT MICHAEL! He’s just as sharp as he was in the 80’s!
Lol wow. This is bad.
Sounds like a normal dive bar band. The vocalist... no, just no.
Fun music. Best wishes to all the members. But let's be honest, christianity is garbage.
Seeing this video gave me a big shock when listening to Michael, his very weak voice is no longer the same, he has lost a lot of power.😪
An advice to Michael is very old and that he dedicate himself to the grandchildren and let the young Metalheads succeed in music.

Yea, he sounds terrible
Omg his voice sounds aweful...and for gods sake stop talking so much before each sounds
Ha! This was about the only time he talked before songs. As far as his voice, for an older metal dude his voice is pretty amazing.
Eric can't even spell but he critics others. Ha
Really Eric awful? Michael has been singing and screaming his throat out for over 40 years and is still sounding pretty damn good !
I love that the husky quality in his voice hasn't aged much.
@@jasonallred244 It's "critique" others. 😂

How long have you been a Christian? Is time for you to move on to metaphysics. Leave the childish things behind.
You should seek therapy
I have heard Stryper and Michael gives his testimony on how they were saved, on numerous occasions. They are Christians and a Christian band. I know people who got saved after listening to Stryper.
I think the key from a New Covenant perspective would be… Not how they look… But what they say!
