Since you classify this as a "simple repair", I'd like to see something from your hard category! Well done sir!

Good job. The Varistor (MOV) was protecting the circuit from the overvoltage spikes from your grid, untill it had enough and failed short and burned. That is how they roll.

I work at a battery recyclers. I estimate that 90 to 95% of all lithium tool battery packs which we receive have perfectly good lithium cells. It is the BMS that always seems to develop a fault, and it happens clear across the board from Dyson batteries to Dewalt to Ryobi. The brand we seldom find is Metabo. Metabo probably uses better components in its BMS.

I like your video very much. But I have to point out heat conducting silicon paste should be applied on the rectifier module. While I am sure the HONGFA7098 thing is only silicon rubber which can fix but not conduct heat. Anyway for such a small power it should not be a big problem.

I was thinking the same thing regarding the silicone... I would have used thermal paste.

here I added two more mosfets to a blue 10 ah pwm solar controller connected to a 150 w solar panel to charge a bank of 04 60 ah automotive batteries, the controller used to heat up a lot, now it's a little cold.

Basically nothing is happened, nothing is changed, nothing is fixed. The rectifier and the varistor is the same, only the trace between them was weak. It was not even open, because the charger turned on, but was weak to charge the battery pack.

Hi Dahen. I got a makita hammer drill and it was seriously sparking from the brushes. I checked the electrical connections and there was no problem. I changed the brushes and brush holders still sparking. I ordered and mounted a new armature and it's still sparking. Do you got any idea ? What can be the problem ? (i checked the stator also it gives exact same value on both sides when i measured with multimeter on lowest resistance. )
