She also didnt hold the candle mount for long enough, I believe without that and the odd wobble here and there she could have beaten Simone! She’s definitely one to watch.

The Olympics next year is going to be super interesting. Except for floor, Biles could actually be surpassed for all other medals! Not saying I want her to be, but there is fierce competition rising up.

She had a very slight balance check after her connection in addition to the step back on her dismount. Simone had very little execution deductions. Everthing moved swiftly and with precision. Simone moved with confidence a confidence that comes with experience.
She certainly could, with more artistry and better choreography and less steps on the beam without choreography and with less concentration pauses. Alas China makes almost no effort when it comes to these *known* deductions.
the gold went to the person who earned it. but this young lady did wonderful!! NOT taking away from that. A little audacious of her coach to make an inquiry to change the score when it was clear who really earned that gold. When there is a CLEAR error, yes, submit an inquiry. That was clearly hubris on her coach's part. 😒

Loved her routine. Maybe a little slow. But my mother who just watches gymnastics if it’s on asked why the best didn’t win in reference to this routine. This is why the sport won’t entice a new audience. No hate on Simone just nice to hear a non gymnastics fan take on it.
