I really am impressed with this, I have always wanted to incorporate "up and down" power reserve dials like the ones you show here. Do you have plans to finish dials for wind gauges?
I originally planned to have a gauge on the main weight but since it winds automatically I didn't see an immediate need. I was going to abandon the idea all together but after I densified the body, I could no longer see the chime spools easily and therefore needed an alternative to see the remaining wind.
Just realized I didn't specifically answer your question (7 years later). So, I thought about making paper dials for the wind gauges but didn't get around to it. Fast-forward to now, I just started working on an update video of the clock and (spoiler) it no longer contains gauges for the wind reserves. I think it was a good idea and if I brought back the gauges, I would absolutely 3D print little dials.
Thank you for noticing my clock. Sorry for the late response. The part that consumed the most time was the brainstorming and experimenting with new mechanisms. Once I had a functional idea, the actual building took no time at all. Unfortunately I haven't touched the clock in about a year. My attention moved to building a K'Nex motorized high-volume coin sorter in which I completed. I just need to devote some time to make a video of it.
You haven’t uploaded a video in a while are you OK and are you still alive do you think you could make those instructions for the clock I’ve been trying to make it and I’ve gotten stuck on the auto rewind area respond whenever you can
Hey there. I have definitely fallen off the RUclips wagon. I'm hoping to make a final K'Nex clock video to show it in its current state. I really don't have plans to make anymore changes to the clock (at least not yet).
I'm terrible at getting video of things I create. I don't have any videos that detail the internal components of this clock. However, I plan to make an update video of the clock and show its details.
999jflower, your clock is so cool. I wish you would upload more often. I'd love to see your creative side. I also have a creative side when it comes to K'nex, LEGO, music, coding, etc.
Thank you! Since these K'Nex videos, I've expanded into 3D design (and printing) and coding. I have a handful of projects that I plan to make videos for in the near future.
@@Flower-3D hey, what a coincidence. I'm also in 3D Modeling/Design & Printing (partially) and Coding (mostly on a kids coding app, but I also do a little bit of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Batch (Windows Command Prompt using Notepad), and a bunch of Block Based Coding languages (including Scratch 3.0). I have tried Swift, but it's currently too confusing for me)

this must have been very TIME consuming to build.
but seriously this is a masterpiece and it puts even my best clocks to shame. congrats!

You should be very proud of that clock nice work!
Thank you very much.
Hi. Would there be any chance of you publishing a build guide? I would love to build this to have in my home. I'm good with K'nex but not this good.
Please please please please please please
you should do an instructables of this
you, uh, you got any instructions on this? lmao
No, I don't have a tutorial for the K'Nex clock at the moment.
cool

I can assist with instructions if you need me to. As I still have hundreds of pieces.
You know you could actually hear this chime in Austin right
Very nice. Show us the inside gears?

@@Flower-3D cool. Can't wait to see them. Also, I like your new channel name. Fits you well.
