Damn Claudio never ceases to amaze with his listening skills, how he picks up even on the most subtle and faintest movements. That vibrato on the top melody wasn't on every note, everyone else missed that. I wish I could just hang out all day long at his studio. I would learn so much just by being a fly on the wall!
On the other hand, David also picked up on the correct bass notes for the Verve and the viola part with the expression (notice what he does wit the left hand while he records). Everybody did a part there.
Bittersweet Symphony ended up in copyright court, as the string riff was sampled from an orchestral interpretation of Rolling Stone's The Last Time recorded in 1965 by the Andrew Oldham Orchestra. The label sued The Verve, and rights were assigned with Jagger-Richards. After a legal battle, The Verve finally regained the royalty rights to the song, which is almost unrecognizable as a version of the original composition.
Wow. Amazing. Seen many of your previous recreations… but this with the incredible guys that built the acoustic modelling was something else. Absolutely brilliant.
Mate! I'm so stoked to see SWAM on the set! I was just watching their intro/release movie earlier and then the stars aligned and i tuned in to find this! Great to see you team up with them! I'm so curious that we are suddenly able to play 3,4,5 all at once ---your on the Mac here, right? I'm wondering how the ios performs...
My dear friends, know that the only music software I had the opportunity to work with was Cakewalk in the '90s. At that time, I mastered it perfectly; its use was almost intuitive. I explored various standard instruments, track by track, without any difficulty. However, since I embarked on a professional career, I have lost all contact with such software. It has become challenging for me to focus on tutorials to understand the workings of new software, such as FL Studio (formerly known as Fruity Loops). I sincerely regret having set music aside :)) Thank you from Algeria ;)) Translate French to English :))
I believe you'll eventually get there soon. Just stick to FL Studio for now and follow tutorials from channels using FL Studio e.g JayCactus, Simon Servida etc. And Aiden Kenway especially because he does song remakes. After a while you can switch DAWs and see how your knowledge and experience translates.
If you sync up some sequencers and run the instruments simultaneously into a mixing board you don't need really a DAW to get a good mix (and you can still use software and hardware together to build your track.) Getting a decent groove box synth is a massive shortcut to quickly building well mixed tracks because it puts that concept into a single device with midi outputs and audio inputs (to expand for external synths or PCs). Then you just need a simple handy recorder and you're good to go with some post process eq and or compression or reverb to give it some 'glue'.
First time ive ever seen virtual strings with all those real time options to make it sound like how real players play. Looks like a dream vst software for strings.
its interesting to see that you naturally play slightly behind the beat! I am the same! awesome video as usual Doctor... I have been writing a string part & really been trying to get my head inside a 12 piece orchestra and how they "divvy" up the parts. this video has been really helpful, particularly @8:45.
oh!! hi-tension!! anyway, swam made a really amzing library of strings. i'm going to buy this right now. goo job Doctor! & staffs of Audio modeling. even it seems to be easy to control. as always Swam made really good libraries. they must be respected. sounds all good. Well done!
Epic! Always amazed how you listen and dismantle those elements, and then together with a room full of audio experts how know their stuff. Amazing! ❤ always hooked to your videos!
Que gran habilidad para transformar canciones en magia , es realmente asombrosa y agrega una nueva dimensión a la música. ¡Seguid creando magia sonora!” 🎵👏
Amazing what technology is capable of. But as I grew up and fell in love with synths as a 10 year old listening to Giorgio’s “Ivory Tower” from the Neverending soundtrack, I know it’s only important what you creatively do with the available tool. You guys combined both in this video, thank you. If more people would be creative like this and put their time in creating beauty, there would be more joy and less hate and violence in this world.
Claudio, Excellent, as always. This is when promotion is enjoyable. Great experience feeling part of that Love and Comradery, through your lens(es). I'm not a pro musician. But, know enough to have immense respect for professionals. I'm so impressed by the fantastic top notch level of work they produce. Amazing.
Thanks for sharing the whole proccess. It does sounds like a fun time. I woundr realy what most people use this tools for, since after the work is done you don't listen to it, since you can just listen to the orignal song... I thought most of people use it for creating original music.
Best Cello is a Limoncello... hur hur hur Seriously, this sounds amazing. And still i can see how insanly difficult it would be to replace a string orchestra with a virtual string orchestra.
Ever since SWAM entered the market, I’ve been wondering (or hoping) if one day they will bring out a hardware physical modeling kind of synth with a lot of expression controllers (several mod wheels, aftertouch, etc.). Like the Yamaha VP/VL series from the 90’s, but super realistic. And that you can create impressive stacks with all their instruments. I know, why not use a decent controller keyboard with the SWAM vst’s and Kontakt? Well, I guess I’m more of a standalone hardware synth kind of guy.

This is such a treat to watch such experts hack it out…amazing stuff!
yes normally yes but the verve i could have played better...on first take...i heard this song so many times...
That vst is on another level when it comes to making "human" sections. You showed just how good your ear is for disecting audio in this Claudio, epic.

That vibrato is almost a Mandela effect now, I always thought it was on that note.
I absolutely love how versatile string sounds can be. This was a fun watch mate!
what I take away from every single doctor mix video, is Claudio's enthusiasm is infectious! Sitting here smiling my face off!!

Wow. Amazing. Seen many of your previous recreations… but this with the incredible guys that built the acoustic modelling was something else. Absolutely brilliant.
The Italian accent is awesome!!! 🍾🍾🍾 P. S.: maybe you need just a little super high violin on the Coldplay song… 😉😉😉
Nice Video...i love strings.

I had no idea that Hide The Pain Harold's brother made virtual instruments, let alone ones as good as this.
Amazing job Claudio!!
Excellent video! and such a talented team of professionals and collaborators. That orchestra sounds 👨🍳👌 💥🧨
You have this many Italian producers in your studio and you're not going to make any Italo Disco?

С огромным удовольствием просмотрел этот эпизод! Спасибо, Доктор Микс! 👏👏👏👏🤝🤝🤝 У меня тоже есть MODX6
SWAM -Wow so technically sophisticated. Mind blown!!

Glad to see Simon Novsky here, One of the sickest String arranger Alive.
hey Claudio. I watch all your videos. just wondering if you ever tried Ujam Striiings, incredible
What a great instrument pack ❤🇩🇰
Thanks for sharing the whole proccess. It does sounds like a fun time.

So cool!
Quanta italianità. Ragazzi siete fortissimi
mr mix please teaches us more orchestration cinematic and jazz stuff. was pretty cool
In the Cold Play riff I swear I hear a detuned piano (which I first thought might even be a hammer dulcimer).
amazing!
Love you are using the MODX still , that's all I've got
Best Cello is a Limoncello...
hur hur hur
Seriously, this sounds amazing. And still i can see how insanly difficult it would be to replace a string orchestra with a virtual string orchestra.
THIS is how you do a sponsored section. And what a great product.
Imagine A.I deconstructing the string arrangements in seconds and then simply sending the MIDI to SWAM string sections...!

Cool guys! The vibrato is way different at the end though.
that was fun!
😂😂😂😂😂😂I love you doctor mix you are the besti want to learn about mixing and mastering ❤️❤️❤️❤️
DR Riff!
I’m a hi/ux designer and would love to work designing these.
Recreate the Nestle “Sweet Dreams” commercial from the late 80’s. It’s like 3-4 chords over a simple basic 808 beat. It’ll take you 3 minutes.
Bravissimo, it was once again a pleasure to watch and listen to you👌🎧✨🤍💫
