With the Track completely resurfaced it will be difficult to predict the potential podium finishers and with only 1 Practice Session, I feel like this weekends Grand Prix will be chaos

I'll predict it for you, Max, Perez and one Ferrari probably Sainz... See it wasn't that difficult.
Theyve devised this track to be utter chaos tbh, with the sprint weekend as well. I never knew the track was resurfaced though. That just throws another element into the mix.
@@RTX4080Gaming100% … I cant understand why do they keep putting Leclerc above Sainz, he’s been underperforming since the beginning. The only reason he’s above Sainz in the points is because of the appendix issue.

The funniest thing about Buemi's crash was that he tried to turn the steering wheel to avoid the barriers with the front wheels gone.

The best part is just one practice session after being away for so many years. Not a lot of wiggle room to get it right before the sprint race. Luckily parc fermé is broken up at last in a sprint weekend so they fiddle a bit before the main race. And if there is a dry sprint race and a wet main race things will get really bonkers. It's a race weekend to remember i bet.

Even if max wins, ill be satisfied for the whole year if this race lives up to the hype. Such a lovely track and i wish it gets its fame from a banger race. I would really like it to be a situation where redbull and ferrari are basically tied on pace and they essentially race a few seconds apart for the whole race.

Our race day prediction, Max; Checo; Charles; Carlos; Alonzo; Lando. The dark horse, in this race is LH as the Mercedes team has been dialing in the W15 performance and he has a point to prove!!! ha-ha
Fact!!! Give LH a racing winning car & he will 'light up the track'. despite being severely restricted by his team mate ' GR'.
I wonder if the cooler weather will do the Merc some good this weekend. I wouldn't be surprised if Lewis and Fernando have a good battle.

Mercedes is actually pretty good for low speed corners along with less downforce. Would be interesting to see if the w15 actually finished under p4. The car was reported to be extremely close to rb20 with before race simulations. I believe this is the race where aston and mercedes with their similar cars may outpace ferrari or mclaren

Interesting predictions. I'm curious how McLaren update there car going forward and what limitation they try to tackle. The car seems to be the outlier now on terms of track to track peaks and drops.

Good takes, McLaren will get slaughtered in Sector 3, I think that's where Alonso can make up alot of ground to finish P5. I think this track is a lot more predictable than people think with a ton of overtakes available for when Perez/Leclerc quali out of position.
You know what? I’m not going to play it safe and pick Max to win. I’m gonna say Leclerc wins his first GP in nearly 2 years this weekend in Shanghai.

Although i disagree that Alpine will be the worst team this weekend
I would put Mercedes in the mix with RBR and the Ferrari's ahead of Aston Martin. The slow corners and cooler weather I think makes this race tailor made for them.
I think Ferrari will be also advantaged by the simulator, since we have seen that this year Ferrari seems to be the car that get's the most out of it since the fp1, and considering there will be only fp1 this might help them.
Is it true that Pirrelli didn't visit the circuit even once to assess tire choices for the weekend?

Turn 1 is made for chaos & rain is possible Saturday. I'm going to say either a Ferrari or a Red Bull will run into trouble, Alonso willbe4th & Hamilton will slip into 5th

I agree with the best teams, worst teams and best drivers, but I would kick out Red Bull and Max. Machine verses clear air is a bore to watch.

We still don't like the boring, expensive 'Sprint race' side show format ....... but ....... with the new regulation changes, maybe all teams could get some valuable setup benefit to improve their race day 'on track' performance.
The Chinese GP will be a very good lit-miss test to see if the 'Sprint race' side show has any merit, in F1.

@F1Unchained if its wets and aston martins tyre problems with overheating may help them, then he could be on pole next to a stake f1 car 🤣🤣. With how their tyres have been overheating, on a new track surface, it could be very slippery, and excessive tyre wear could help them out!!
