My first decent watch was a Longines many many moons ago when I was a kid. Back then the brand name seemed quite exotic. The watch has remained unworn for many years due to its diminutive size but it still holds a special place in my collection. To his day I always take a second look at the Longines offerings. Decent quality pieces at non insane prices - perfect for everyday usage. One day I’ll get another Longines for nostalgia. Weirdly that Longines was worn daily for about 5 years so it’s seen more wrist time than anything else!
I have a 7.25" wrist. I can't decide between this and the 42mm Blue Longines Spirit? I already own the Blue Longines Spirit Chronograph (42mm). Please advise :-)
I saw one in the flesh for first time yesterday and it looks lovely. It's one I'd have to try on though because of the lugs. Any idea if the strap is water resistant? Leather on a diver always seems like an odd choice to me.
Another great review pal and it looks a real stunner. I am in the market for a vintage diver and wondered which you would recommend between this one and the C Ward diver with the blue and white dial, they are both very similar in what they are trying to achieve. I agree with you about the long lug to lug on the Longines, they do look a little long. Cheers
Longines, under-rated for sure. they have a few that I quite like. the Silver Arrow is one I have taken a shine to, a couple of others as well. This one is too big for me, but yeah, great brand. I believe they had a long time connection to Omega in the 1800's...yeah a while ago. So speaking of AR coating, have you had any problems with the AR on the front of your Omega crystals? I know Adrian was complaining about his Seamaster getting the AR scratched.
Really cool video! I've always liked the Longines Legend Diver and these colored versions they released are great. Unfortunately I think the 36mm versions sold out instantly or were a very limited release and the big ones I feel the lugs are too big for me. But yeah, it's a great watch. Nice video!
Good stuff Andrew . Longines make some really great looking watches . Really love the dial of the watch . The colour is eye-catching. Not sure about the strap though . The lugs do look quite straight so this probably doesn't help with the lug to lug length . For the money your definitely getting a lot of watch .Enjoyed the review mate 👍
@@watchandrew not a big fan of bands that have contrasting stitching mate . The dimple waffle type design on the band isn't that appealing for me either Andrew. But this is only a minor thing it certainly wouldnt deter me from buying this watch if I was in the market for it . And who knows I could change my mind if I saw it in hand . 👍
Beautiful watch. I have to get one! AFTER I buy the 40mm Blue Spirit with only 50mm lug to lug! lol. I'm sure you noticed, that even with your small wrist, it looked and felt great?
Great stuff Andrew. Lovely watch, that colour blue.... I like Longines, they don't pretend to be anything they're not. Been looking at the Big Eye, any chance of a review?
Not bad but think the rado captain cook blows this away for the same sort of money. Surprised you haven't reviewed one yet Andrew, because they are stunning especially in the green. And in bronze they really are stunning in blue !!!
Longines is using the 2892 modified into a l888 that's the main reason I'd go for them over the Rado. Also since I live in the west the brand is way more respected and recognized here than Rado.
@@antonhallergren588 , I think rado are a very underrated brand. Not everyone's cup of tea, but the captain cook , are very popular. In terms of levels rado match longines. In fact I would say they are superior . Longines were an incredible brand but they have gone a bit cheap. Bit like doxa. Rado have always remained a strong brand , and are massive in india/ Asia. They also were the best selling brand in Switzerland at one time. I've owned a ton of different brands and rado are one of the best for value for money , for a luxury brand. They are also a world leader in terms of materials used , ie steel , tungsten , titanium and ceramics. Rado are a great brand , and do beautiful dials that match seiko, in terms of quality and originality. Every rado ive owned has been top notch , I think they are possibly the best buys around the 2/3k category.
This watch, like many a Longines, is close to perfection but fatally flawed below the waterline. I bought a Longines Spirit 40mm late 2020. I loved the quality and the price. It ran very well and I enjoyed wearing it but I couldn't wear it all day long because of the leggy lugs. They are just too long and the same issue applies here. Plus it is far too big at 42mm. If they cut 2mm off the lug to lug and dropped the case size to 39-40mm they would have a total winner. I would be right there banging on the AD's door. Please Longines when you can do so much right why screw it up with some idiotic errors. Listen to people like me, who have bought your watches and would buy again and do what we ask.
Not for me, I really don’t like the blue, it looks cheap. Just the standard black dial is so much classier looking and if you get it on the mesh bracelet you’re getting a lot of watch for the money.
BRACE yourself. Here comes Andrew with another watch review. Nice but to big for a Heritage Range watch. I had the Longines Flagship Heritage a few years ago and regret letting it go.
Bought it! Love it! Always in the rotation! Bought the black strap from Longines and it looks great on that also 👌 👍

Hi Greg, apologies for the late reply. I think the CW diver is really great value..... did you make a decision?

The watch looks great on wrist and I never noticed size of lugs until you mentioned them .
But they are big! 🦻🦻
Maybe I shouldn’t of said anything 😆
The size of this stunning is perfect fit for your wrist, so what is your wrist size?

Thank you very much mate,,, really appreciate that. Still got your print in my living room - now that thing is amazing!!
@@watchandrew thanks! Glad to hear you're still enjoying it!

Very nice watch Stephen, it did feel and look great for sure
Longines make some really good watches. This diver is amazing.
Really is 👌
Very nice looking. Longines all seem to
Have stupid long lug to lug lengths. Puts me off a lot of them.
They are cool I do like these saw one in Manchester the other day an all black one, lovely look, long lugs those though 😞
All black would be cool looking,,, yeah, the lugs are a smidge long for sure.
Great stuff Andrew.
Lovely watch, that colour blue....
I like Longines, they don't pretend to be anything they're not.
Been looking at the Big Eye, any chance of a review?
Cheers Perry, thank you. Yeah I can ask the question re the big eye for sure!!
Personally I like long lugs. Vintage vibes
I have the red one on order with my local ad
That's a watch that looks better than on the wrist than in the watchbox. Would have preferred a display caseback.
Yeah it’s a good looking watch…

I have the Longines spirit which is an amazing watch, it's my favourite watch brand and the best value for money out there.
Love the aesthetics of the watch, but, just wish it was 39mm case.
Great video and nice to see Longines getting some love
Thanks Stephen appreciate the feedback and yeah,,, Longines are underrated in my eyes
Plant ocean review next it’s gotta be soon big man 😂😂
That’s definitely close pal,, I’ve had it a while now.

That’s what I thought too until I saw it in person the other day. It’s a wow but so are the red and black. Of course, beauty is in the eyes….

There is a few of mines that I've let go and wanted back!
Too bad lately their watches are getting more and more expensive
