    There was a book written in 1964 and released on the same day the three Civil Rights workers were kidnapped:Mississippi, the closed society by James Silver who taught in the Ole Miss.He described the society of Mississippi in perpetual spiritual secession from the Union.He mentioned that White people that were against the segregation were threatened.

The crime in EVERY instance: Being Black and Educated... having a desire to learn. I don't need a course on the good people of the south! Thankfully today by the grace of Heru and the power and strength of my ancestors...I am educated and teaching others. Each one, teach one. It's the ONLY way out. Ase'

      You're underestimating the hatred of the racist segregationist. In the minds of the average Mississippian, the Civil War never ended and they were going to defend Jim Crow division by any means necessary.

    Racially Mississippi is one of the most progressive states in the union today. Yes, there was bad racial attitude 50 years ago. So before you dump your criticism on them, look in your own back yards. Be assured that regardless of the area of this nation in which you live you will find worse race relations than Mississippi has today. I know. I have lived in many our your areas.

      Mississippi has always voted Republican since the Civil Rights era, with the exception of George Wallace and Jimmy Carter. That is not progressive.

    • @JohnDavis-yz9nq
      @JohnDavis-yz9nq 3 года назад +1

      @@LastCommodore yes they always vote Republican and it’s hard to understand why being the poorest state in the country. There is a lot of history in Mississippi and it will be just that history. They could attract a lot of tourists if they would get their blues music theme going again but they will never do it. All the dying little towns could prosper if they would get some juke joints going. If you think poor you stay poor.
