    The black is extraordinary, the contract between the hour markers and dial is just exceptional, and something the white misses out on. I used to prefer the white but now I prefer the black, good thing I didn’t rush into anything haha

    Bought the black, had it for 6 months and love it. The bezel action is very smooth and you figure out the sweet spot for rotating it since it doesn’t have a coin edge. I actually have grown to like the helium escape valve and feel it adds character. I love this watch and going to buy the white as well and wear it on the black rubber strap.

      I thought about this exact strategy so I would have bracelet and strap be interchangeable between the two dials - but it does seem a little gratuitous. But I love the 300m so much it’s maybe the only watch I wouldn’t mind having in two colors

      I almost feel like the black ceramic dial is too much. I know it's cool as heck, but in certain light it makes it look too much with light Reflection. I bet you the next version will tone down how shiny the dial is. It's not bad at all on the white tho

  • @Matt-bg5wg

    I wanted the white dial more than anything until I held both in my hands. The black dial was just so much better. It looks sleeker, the contrasts are more defined, not to mention the black goes with a lot more clothing options than the white, and just looks much more profesional. I’ve put it on the black rubber strap and it’s the perfect combination of smart/casual.

      You really can’t go wrong with either one. I think the black dial goes better with the stainless steel bracelet and the white dial goes better with the black rubber strap. Beautiful pieces. I‘ve sold my 90‘s Seamaster and I will definitely buy again a seamaster. Bracelet is just beautiful and comfortable and although some people don’t like the escape valve I think it became a characteristic of this watch over years. Maybe you should look on that valve not from aesthetics and also not from usage perspective. It is a part of the DNA.

    I also bought the white dial. It is my first luxury watch and i love it!
    The grey dial looks great and is the most blingy one at first sight but i think it could become too „flashy“ if it is your only watch.
    The blue was too playful and not versatile enough for me.
    The black is my 2nd favorite but it was too dark for me.
    The white has a great contrast, perfect versatility and you can see all the amazing details on it easily. Only drawback is that it is not as shiny as the other ones.

    • @n-igmawatchtalk8712
      @n-igmawatchtalk8712 3 года назад +3

      I think you might be misunderstanding what was said. Both black and white dials are polished ceramic, so they look glossy . Rob was talking about the engraving being matte grey on black dial and matte white on the white dial.

    • @baegyu6715
      @baegyu6715 7 месяцев назад

      @n-igmawatchtalk8712 you are not understanding this..check out the two in real. Black one looks all glossy overall from bezel to glass and from glass to dial, lights just dance and reflect against it.
      White one does not. White dial looks like plastic or matt. It does have unique charms to it but lacks that luxury feel to its look. Black vivid lines present in white dial looks like someone used ink fine liner around the edges

    I had a white dial Christopher Ward C60 Trident 600 diver, the previous generation (Mk II). Loved the watch, but legibility was compromised due to the polished stainless steel hands and indices. The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M fixes that with black hands and indices, making for excellent contrast. I also like how the white dial tones down the wave pattern and makes it more subtle than on the black or the blue.
    An affordable black-dial diver is a must in a collection. Tons of SKK007s still available out there. After that, I would consider the white dial Seamaster as my "special occasion" diver. It really is something.

    While I am not a fan of that honkin' Helium Release Valve on these watches, I really do like the overall look of these watches...
    The dials look great. Plus, they moved the Date Window down the the Six O'clock position. Which, IMHO, is far better than having it at the 3 Marker. It just makes the whole dial look cleaner, and more symmetrical...

    Omega ought to come up with forest green, burgundy, light blue, salmon, rusty orange, and some other unusual dial/bezel colors just for fun. I also think every single model made should be a four handed GMT. Many fellow pilots will go diving on some of our longer layovers. And many serious divers will cross many time zones in pursuit of their passion. A watch that suits both endeavors only makes sense to me.
    As for scratches - very easy to remove with a brillo pad. That’s how I keep my 22 year old SMP looking absolutely brand new.

  • @trenken
    @trenken 3 года назад

    The reason why the white dial version looks bigger is because of the reflective part on the inside of the bezel. Rather than it reflecting black, its not reflecting white on this newer version which makes the dial look bigger.

    Great comparison video,, I'm waiting for the lock down to end, to get the black dial version, (hopefully),,
    Can't wait to see how, (if) you go about "softening" the sharp edges, as that's something that was worrying me too,!!
    I've done it on my Invicta jubilee, but this is a different ball game, due to the price of the watch,, lol ,
    All the best, from England,,

    The white is nice. Wish I had waited and bought that instead of the gray dial. But both are nice and the laser engraved dials can be appreciated more on the white and gray versions.

    I definitely like the white dial better. No matter the angle, it is more legible, and legibility is what is most important to me. If you can’t read a watch at first glance, you might as well use your phone as your clock. The whole thing about a watch is how quick you can get the time read, otherwise why wear one. Great video as always Rob!!!

    Would not mind either in the long run...Nice score RR.

    The wave dial pops on the black. The white dial is missing that sparkling sensation the black dial has.

    When I tried them both in the shop, on wrist the white definitely appeared to wear smaller. My partner who was there at the time said exactly the same thing. Went with the black. Beautiful watches either way.

    Hi there, want to know your experience from Omega Seamaster. I feel my new 2022 omega seamaster bezel a bit like loose its like playing a tiny bit side to side (rotating is all good anti clockwise), plus when i gentle press the bezel for example at 3'o clock, the opposite bezel at 9'o clock its like lifting up a little bit... I ask omega boutique and read some from omega forum they say its normal that the bezel have a little bit of play (not stiff like breitling or rolex), but i am just wondering your experienced? Is it normal? Thx. Great Video btw..

    That white dialled Omega is gorgeous! Too bad that at 42mm it's just WAY too big for my 6 and 1/2 inch wrist. Looks perfect in you though! 😃😃😃👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

    • @starfluke
      @starfluke 3 года назад

      Although I could barely wear the 42mm on my 7.2” left wrist I already have the Hesalyte Moonwatch at 42 and have decided that’s the only 42mm I want in my collection. I’m holding out for this watch to come out in a 40mm case. The new laser engraved white ceramic wave dial with its larger waves than previous models is unmatched in the industry. Taken together with the mildly domed anti reflective sapphire crystal, the 2 tone lume, the skeletonized handset, the symmetry of the 6 o’clock date window and the dimensional hour markers in my view this dial is nowhere approached in the dive watch marketplace. When you add the ceramic bezel, the 15000 gauss magnetic resistant chronometer movement modestly but handsomely decorated and displayed there is no situation when this watch is out of place.

    I am trying to decide on which one of these to get. I am so torn because I usually always prefer black dial watches, but the white dial here just seems more 3d and pops better than the black.
    I am leaning toward the white on this one but do not want buyers remorse. Especially at this price which is somewhat of a grail for me. Any advice or opinion Rob?

    Its the black trim on the indices that make
    It pops out, 3D, so it's just a personal preference. For me its tge black one, its more classy, it goes with anything.

    Love that white dial - maybe put it on that black rubber strap for the contrast? Are Omega rubber straps quality?

    • @Matt-bg5wg
      @Matt-bg5wg 3 года назад

      They are. I just bought the black dial with the steel bracelet (for potential resale later) but bought the rubber strap extra and got Omega to switch them out. It’s a beautiful, elegant and comfortable design, feels really great on the wrist and very stable. I have a Rolex Sub so I found myself comparing the two steel bracelets too much (Rolex is better by a mile), so switching the Omega out for a rubber strap with the black dial creates the ultimate smart casual everyday wrist watch. I love it.

    Omega has white-dialled limited edition versions of the old 300M and the Planet Ocean. Each looks stunning but has blue trim rather than black, which I'd love to see as an option for this 300M.

    Without doubt one of a very few watches that can't be beaten for its price teir. This is only personal preferences, I wished they didn't use skeleton hands, they tapered the braclet which to me always looks more refined, and lastly as nice as the bracelet is, to me it feels like it's to over designed and it over bears or competes with the head of the watch as aposed to the watch head taking center stage.

    • @trenken

      They always sell for them. Thats why they can afford to keep making new versions of it. They have an all black stealth model coming out this summer. At 4-5k its high end but not TOO high end for most people like a rolex. Omega owns that 5k market with these watches and they sell tons of them.

    Darker colors just make things look smaller and lighter makes them larger, more expansive. Hence, wearing black clothes makes a person look slimmer,
