- Wow.. When I had the idea of making a vlog in german, I didn't think about the subtitles. And I had no idea how much time it would take to add them. We recorded this video almost two weeks ago and I finally managed to get it done! Sascha Goertz is joining me for this one. He's been an active disc golfer for a while and is one of the best Disc Golf Valley players in the world!

This is fun! I am going to rewind and rewatch this until I can add "That was the dumbest thing I could have done" to my german vocabulary. I can see it being useful on the disc golf course and in life.
Speaking as a fellow victim of a receding hairline, it's time to shave my friend. Probably make you look 10 years younger.

Yes! Finally! As a Canadian that speaks German too, I had been waiting for this for a long time. Thank you Simon for finally speaking some German on your channel, it was so much fun!
It makes me admire your mastery of english all the more. My grandmother could speak German and it was how she made a living in the early 20th century translating for German business men that came to Cleveland.
Really entertaining to watch/hear. I've always known you are German and Canadian, but it's crazy to hear you speak such effortless and natural German. You're English accent is soooo good, that unless I'd heard it from you yourself, I'd have never believed that German is your mother tongue. All in all, another great vlog. awesome , simon love this i grew up around relatives, who spoke deutsch here in the USA ,brings back memories from my childhood. this was truly a treat to hear and watch both you fellas, by the way I'm 68 now and have been playing DG for 3 years :) love your vlog

Let's go! Disc Golf Valley vlogs are the best. I loved hearing you have the conversation in German. The subtitles were great, but it still would have been fun to watch without them. Vlogmas knocks it out of the park again.

Ok big Sime..... Strangely soothing to watch ...considering my late grandmother was off the boat from Netherlands... Brings me back to my childhood in a strange way. German is not Dutch but similar. Thanks for taking the time to translate 👍✌️

Really cool hearing you speak German! Actually learning German myself right now so hearing a natural conversation combined with subtitles helped a ton. Especially since it's about Disc golf!

This course took me the longest time to get three stars. It's amazing how inconsistent it is with the crazy winds and the ridiculous ground play you get on this course.

I am currently learning. I would really enjoy more videos in german. My heritage is german and my girlfriend loves when I call her frauline even though that particular term isn't used to address a grown woman anymore. Wunderbar!!
Took German in highschool when everyone I knew took spanish. Fell in love with the language and culture. This was very cool and nostalgic for me. Auf wiedersehen
Man you always come up with some cool ideas! Love it. I'm about a quarter German, but know very little of the language. It's amazing to me how you can just switch back and forth.
Love it bro!! My ancestry dna trace came back German, stated the last name came from German immigrants into Poland that changed the name from Friedrich to Frydrych which then brought the name here to the States. I had the pleasure of of going to Germany the summer I graduated from High School and Munich was so amazing, so beautiful, and the people so friendly and accommodating towards us. An experience I'll never forget! Ich wünschte nur, ich würde die Sprache fließender sprechen.
This makes me want to learn German! I know those subtitles were probably a major pain but it was fun to watch/listen/read!

Yeah if you learn how to read you can read the words at the bottom of the screen and understand what’s going on.

Nice! I liked that you played ”together” and saw and discussed the game. Keep going with that if you do more valley videos no matter language 😊

Interessant. Ich hoffe du vergisst die alte Heimat nicht. Wir brauchen Discgolf auch hier. Fang nächsten Frühling an...leider echt schwierig an ein paar Sachen zu kommen. Man sucht sich etwas aus und schon kriegt man es nur aus den USA. Habe einen Warenkorb für 220,-€ befüllt und soll 170,-€ Versand zahlen....*what a bummer".

im tryin that hyzer line on hole 8! i go straight at it with my FUSE mid (Accurate/Wind Break) and pitch straigt at the front left corner where grass meets the bottom lip of the signs surrounding the hole and the disc ramps in. birdie from there! great vid, more of these for sure!

I love that this was in German! Makes me want to dive back into the language I haven't spoken in 18 years, but spent 11 years learning.
I studied it for 7 years. Understand it well, but speaking it is quite difficult. Needs some days in Germany and beers.

Good fun! I can recommend not doing subtitles in the editor but rather use the captions option in youtube studio - it's super fast once you get into it (it autopredicts where you might want subtitles too). Looking forward to seeing you play Sascha in real life at the course he invited you to here in Denmark. I will be ready to cover the battle once the pandemic is over :)

Simon, pay the $5.99 and get the extra bag slot. Then you can level up and get the Ballista Pros, that's how Sascha had the long drive on hole 4. Sascha is a man of many talents. I also play keyboards in two bands. I subscribed to Sascha's channel. His keyboard playing is very good. He's playing left hand bass, comping in the right hand, and singing. Not easy to do this, extreme talent here.

Oh dear lord I quickly remembered why I stopped studying German. Years ago I could give some simple instruction on like where the post office is or how much a drink costs, thank yous and so on but that's all in the past now.

A Simon Lizotte inspired disc golf game seems like something that should be in the works. With side trick shot challenges. Keeping up with the vlog quests. Ulibarri mode where you have to create a side hustle so you can tramp around from tourney to tourney. The possibilities are endless....
Hope we get to see another one of these I really enjoyed it.

You can throw through the trees on 2 with a 3 or 4 left to right wind btw. I've only played this course twice and I got an albatross on my second go.
