■ ITALY, FLORENCE: Tuscany's capital is world famous for its Bistecca Alla Fiorentina. A type of beef that isn't necessarily slayed locally but instead derived from a special breed of bull and prepared in a specific manner which dates back to the middle ages. Traditionally they are served extremely rare!
As a huge connoisseur of beef, this was naturally something I had to try and film for you guys. I therefore started sampling various restaurants across Florence over two weeks ago in search of the finest T-bone cut in he city.
In all honesty I've yet to run into a bad steak anywhere in this city. But there is one restaurant I keep coming back to that offers the best value in terms of price and quality: Trattoria Dall'Oste. Hence why I choose this restaurant to showcase Florence's greatest dish.
So did I defeat the mighty 1.6kg T-bone steak put in front of me? And were I able to walk afterwards?
Best waiter ever. These kinda people are what's keeping our business up.
It's rare to find people who like what they do in these kind of jobs, but when you find them, do enjoy as much as you can.

Dude, I went to Florence and had a Bistecca too, and that meat is everything...this simple calm video almost got me emotional, remembering the good life. Bistecca, rain, Italy, if you manage to get a partner in that equation to trust me it's to cry for. awesome video

I have been to all the major cities in Italy and Florence (Firenze) is my favorite, make sure you visit Fiesole in the hills overlooking Florence.
But its not scammers free. Just came back from Italy 2 weeks ago. Almost all touristy areas have scammers and be careful. Watch your steps. Can't tell you how many times you'll find yourself walking up a flight of stairs to go to a famous cathedral or the like and as soon as you reach the tip top of that stair case right in front of your feet (literally the top and final step) is a scammer with a carpet laying down on the ground with his stupid mugs and toys. Seen people not paying attention accidentally step on them and the scammers come in droves, demanding money for breaking their merchandise. Be careful, watch your steps.

@@derbigpr500 You have an unrefined palette. Japanese A5 is universally considered the best on Earth. Fat is flavor buddy, shit tastes better then the meat. Also it's generally made to be eaten in thin slices, and just a small amount as it's so rich.

Harald im Italian, nice to see these videos here in my country I really enjoy them. You could always ship a bottle of that house red wine home to dad and tell him you found a red you finally like and to try it. Sometimes a son has to be the braver man in these situations. It took my father years to feel comfortable getting a hug due to generational differences.

Loving this series of videos and definitely a place I want to visit. This restaurant looks amazing, just looked up the rest of the menu which I am guessing thousands of others have too. The waiter loves his job and cares about the produce. Anyone else fancy steak now, I started salivating as he sprinkled the salt on :) I like the fact that Harald is not a "foodie" type and just tells it straight when commenting on food.

Most waiters outside the US don't care much about tips. They really truly care about their service.
Most italian waiters i know will not accept tips. They feel offended or so it seems. No tipping in italy at restaurants and beauty parlours. Beauty parlours, spa etc.. never! They won’t even understand.

Let’s face it there’s scams everywhere but most people are friendly and good and it’s so great you show and focus more on the positives

i live in florence.. when i want to eat bisteca fiorentina. i always go to this tratoria dall'oste. good selection of meat :P and pasta are all good!
they have 4 restaurants around florence but sometimes you need wait for the turn because they are always full :P they dont take reservation

@@Windir91 it depends of course. There are some that are very cheap and as good as an expensive one, although they are very rare. I'd suggest you to research before you go or take advice from a local!

@@Windir91 You should search for 'trattoria' or 'osteria' to have the best and most typical experience and not to spend too much. Food vacation in Italy should be fantastic. Every town has its typical dishes. Advice: avoid cities, not bc restaurants there are not good, but i think you don't get the real experience.
