@@Chepo1500 they are secondary cats. We don’t have emissions testing here. But from what I gathered it would still pass in most states with just the primary cats in place and these removed.
Do both secondary cat have sensor or just 1 because the guy that took of my secondary cat did the cut out and took the sensor off so I wonder if both catalytic have sensor or just 1 ?
Bad Zion_tC I did the secondary cat delete on my 2019 SS. You won’t get a check engine light as they are behind the second 02 sensor. They’re only there to catch any bad emissions the car lets out on cold starts that the primary cats don’t catch before they heat up.
@@louisterrazas2752 actually not necessarily true! Watch other videos. As long as they do a damn good job welding you will not throw a CEL. Any exhaust leaks and you WILL throw a CEL. Getting mine done tomorrow.
Nothing will "Void" your warranty. Thats a bad term. They can deny a warranty claim. That being said, they would deny a warranty claim on this section of exhaust pipe since it is no longer a factory piece.
@@KnightsGarage I understand what youre saying but...I literally just bought a 2019 camaro ss with the warrenty….id love to delete the second cats but my concern is is something big blows lets say the engine or such.....could they look at that and say no to an engine replacement? I know if my AC went then it be no issue but...im talking under the hood wise. thanks brotha
brundage123419 true but they could do that for anything you do. If you are really concerned with the warranty then you need to leave it completely stock. Because there is a possibility that anything you do could effect the warranty depending on the dealership and /or the tech line guy from Chevy they send the claim to. I remember when I worked as a Nissan tech in early 2000’s a lot of people were putting k&n filters in their 350 Z’s and Nissan was having trouble with their mass air flow sensors. They were quick to start blaming aftermarket high flow air filters for this. Then sent out a bulletin to dealerships to deny warranty claims on mass air flow sensors and engine failures if an aftermarket high flow air filter was in use.
Your video is appreciated, I am just not impressed with the way any new Mustang or Camaro sound, sound like trumpets backfiring. Why can't the OEMs get that awesome sound of the 90s GT Mustangs back, jmho.
@@dgvette1 This guy did a really good job but that’s gonna depend on the shop you go to. Some exhaust shots will just throw some junk on there and not care because it’s under the vehicle. I’m sure a kid that was paying cut and made to clamp on it’s going to have a better fit and finish the most exhaust shops.
"Get that shit outta here" at the bag. Your cars and videos are awesome. Keep up the good work!
Air Ace Thanks man!
@@KnightsGarage are they catalytics? Because I seen ppl saying they are resonators but I doubt it. U won’t pass emission without those ?

@@KnightsGarage sounds good bro 😎
Any errors on dash?
Did the idle get a bit louder or just heavy acceleration sound?
they did it to pass Cali and federal emissions standards. its a big lt5 under there.
If I removed my secondary cats do I need to get it tuned ?
No

BIG QUESTION i’ve had mine for 2 days and codes came up 420 and 430 shop said they couldn’t find any leaks …. NEW SHOP??? or what
What size pipe he used to replace it with ? Was it 2.75” ? Im trying to do this myself and save 300$
Been a while but 2.75 sounds right.
Can you still hear the wine if you do muffler delete?
yes
Seems to be worth it.
"More throatier!"
What size pipe did the shop use to replace the secondary cats?
I’m pretty sure I talk about this in the video somewhere I think it was 2.75 or 3 inch you may have to go back and watch again to confirm.
Is it nuisance louder? It sounds clean though.
Nahhh. Just a tad louder really.
I have a 2018 zl1 I didn’t know cutting off the cuts will give ur burbles
Are you in Valdosta?
Nope.
Did you get any check engine ligh on
Bad Zion_tC not at all
@@KnightsGarage so if I get my secondary cat deleted I won't get any cel

Do you have the "drone" sound inside now?
No I didn’t have any drone inside the car after this
Doing Dyno?
Kryptonite90 not in my plans. I had a Dyno day where I tested a ported TB and got interesting results. If you want to go check it out.

Did you engine light come on
No. There is no way for the car to know the secondary cats are gone. It only monitors the first set of catalytic converter‘s they are the main ones.
Isn’t that mid mufflers
Nope. It’s a second cat.

agreed
Do they sell a kit for this?
They didn’t when I made this video. Any kit would probably not be as cheap as just going to your local Muffler Shop and having them removed.

Is it manual or auto
All newer chargers are Auto. They don’t make a manual
removing 2nd cats give more power ???
IDK for sure But I would assume maybe two or three hp Would be gained by removing a little restriction
