When I first booted mine up the initial start up sounds had me feeling way more giddy than I ever expected lol. Maybe it was because this is my first Day 1 console but I felt like a kid on Christmas morning haha.

As someone who has installed multiple M.2 SSD’s before. you did it wrong. there is both a stand-off and a screw. when you undid the ‘screw’ it also undid the stand-off, which is not good because the drive is supposed to go between the stand-off and the screw. but you took out both and screwed both back in with the drive which means in now on a slight angle downward, which might affect the connector long term.
A heads up about the ssd install, the silver metal stand off is meant to be below the ssd, then you screw the black screw that keeps the ssd in. it should be horizontal when done correctly.
Wait hold on, the silver metal at around that he screws off at 12:03 is supposed to be below the SSD he installs? As in the SSD should be exposed with the metal covering below it? I am confused.

You NEVER want to screw the SSD directly onto the PCB. It has the potential to damage the M.2 port, the SSD connector and the PCB itself. You put the silver plate back over the SSD expansion port after you're done screwing the SSD into place.

I believe you installed your SSD incorrectly. That aluminum cylinder spacer (thick washer) should be placed between the motherboard and the SSD, it looks like you put the cylinder spacer between the SSD and the screw head. The cylinder spacer is there to be a stand-off to prevent the back of the SSD from contacting the motherboard. Sony should have used different hardware to make it more obvious for the consumer. You may want to make note of that in a future video, that may become a common mistake people make.

Me and a couple friends got a gamestop preorder like a month or so ago. My friend waited in a 3 hour online queue and got one 3 am this morning. Another one got called by someone that worked at Costco and got one lol. Another got the Sony special preorder. I have a lucky circle I suppose
I think after today when everything settles down it should be easier. Just have to be patient and have your in stock notifications on. Also some of these stores will allow in store purchases after today.

Hey man be careful with Rest Mode. Some people on the PS5 subreddit have been having problems, also ACG and YongYea. Research the Rebuild Database bug just to be safe.

Jeff Gerstmann from Giant Bomb has a similar thing. ACG also, but his console actually died because of it. So be careful. People on reddit are speculating that it has to do with transfering files from the PS4 to the PS5 using Lan cable. But nobody knows yet
All the reasons to wait and let the early adopters experience any technical issues with the launch units. I’ll wait until next year, and hopefully Sony will address them with any firmware fixes necessary .

Well, to be fair, I don't get the complaints. First off, it's all of the people that hold RUclipsrs onto a pedestal that make sure those RUclipsrs get stuff gifted to them. Also, with the scalpers, simply don't buy from them. If nobody buys, then things like that will soon die out, because it isn't worthwhile if they are stuck with consoles they don't actually want and have to resell at a loss.

You don't need a new TV for it really. A monitor might be a better value but your TV will be fine too. Get disc if you collect games, want games cheaper, trade games or sell them or use Blu-Ray or DVD (which is dying). Get Digital if you don't want boxes of games, lose the boxes, worry about scratches. Be aware you are paying full price most of the time.

I have traded in or sold games, then regretted doing it afterwards and later rebought them back, so at least digital copies actually makes you keep your games. 4. I have bought tons of digital copies for cheap via sales. Also most indie games are digital only games, like Hollow Knight and Celeste.
I think you were supposed to put the stand off in first than the ssd and screw. Does the standoff and screw separate? Thats how it is on my motherboard but it could be different of the PS5. It just didn't look straight when you screwed it in. My PS5 won't come for another week and I don't know when my samsung pro 980 is going to be delivered.
But it was really easy for me. I just had to wake and go to the Walmart site and order the Ps5 disk version. The site even stayed up for like 6 minutes. Idk maybe I was lucky

Well, to be fair, I don't get the complaints. First off, it's all of the people that hold RUclipsrs onto a pedestal that make sure those RUclipsrs get stuff gifted to them.
Also, with the scalpers, simply don't buy from them. If nobody buys, then things like that will soon die out, because it isn't worthwhile if they are stuck with consoles they don't actually want and have to resell at a loss.

I saw a guy streaming nba 2k22 and his thumbnail was like 6 ps5s and it had text on it and it said fuck your feelings. 2 people on my friends list have them but none of them are playing that actual ps5 exclusive.
For someone that’s been all digital game and movie library since Steam and before PS4 launch, the PS5 DE is colossally good value for me.
Happy to give developers and Sony more of a cut in exchange for not having to manage, store and swap discs.
Got my PS5 on Christmas Eve and been loving it. Got lucky and managed to swipe one from a small amazon drop 2 days prior.

Have to say, that PS5 is insanely amazing console, with the speed of it and graphics it's just underrated.

You don't need a new TV for it really. A monitor might be a better value but your TV will be fine too. Get disc if you collect games, want games cheaper, trade games or sell them or use Blu-Ray or DVD (which is dying). Get Digital if you don't want boxes of games, lose the boxes, worry about scratches. Be aware you are paying full price most of the time.

2. I don't really collect games.
3. I have traded in or sold games, then regretted doing it afterwards and later rebought them back, so at least digital copies actually makes you keep your games.
4. I have bought tons of digital copies for cheap via sales. Also most indie games are digital only games, like Hollow Knight and Celeste.
I think you were supposed to put the stand off in first than the ssd and screw. Does the standoff and screw separate? Thats how it is on my motherboard but it could be different of the PS5. It just didn't look straight when you screwed it in. My PS5 won't come for another week and I don't know when my samsung pro 980 is going to be delivered.
