    SolidWorks will allow you to set custom key bindings for tools that you use often. I have a few set up, which saves a lot of time when modelling. My favourites are Q for "Convert Entities" and E for "Intersection Curve" when sketching.

      I love that, damn. I used NX on internship so I've been trying to mash the keybindings I used there lol.

    Having a real mouse with a scroll bar is a great solidworks tip. When I first started with solidworks I tried to use my laptop trackpad - rookie mistake! Using a mouse makes manipulating the views and zoom smooth and easy.

    it took me far too long to realize that you can hold middle click and drag to select when you're in a sketch to get to some common tools like smart dimension
