Welcome to the rabbit hole of Home Free ! Home Free has a bunch of good Christmas covers...look at their version og "O Holy Nihjt", but they cover a lot of good stuff but do lean a little bit towards Country, but don't be scared off, most of the stuff they cover is country/pop ....they recently did a cover of Dire Straits "Brothers in Arms" which will knock your socks off

Wonderful reaction...so now that you heard this, check out their "Do you hear what I hear" and "Children go where I send thee" ft Kenny Rodgers. Do you Hear what I hear was arranged by their vocal percussionist Adam Rupp who is also a co-founder of HF with his brother Chris Rupp who is now solo, but you will see him in older videos....but Do you Hear What I Hear is a intricate masterpiece of harmony and bass/percussion.

Welcome to the rabbit hole! I fell in last year and still haven't hit bottom. HF is country at the core but sing all genres and sing them beautifully. So talented. Some say they have no lead singer. I say they have four, five if their beatboxer Adam would agree to sing lead, lol.
A few Christmas suggestions for you to choose from, if you would like: O Holy Night, Do You Hear What I Hear, Beautiful Star of Bethlehem with the Oak Ridge Boys, Children Go Where I Send Thee with Kenny Rogers, How Great Thou Art (though not exactly Christmas, it's a must hear). Or, to see their comedic side and a glimpse of their personalities, Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer. There are many more. You can't go wrong with any of them, that's a fact. Thanks for the reaction!

Welcome! We Home Fries love it when a new reactor discovers Home Free! Home Free has the tightest harmony of any A Cappella group I've ever heard. The vocal range of each member is amazing, they share the lead in songs, before each performance they vote on who is best suited to lead with any given song, they lift up other artists and the joy, warmth and enthusiasm they bring to everything they do is contagious. The cover songs they do pay homage to the originals while putting their own stamp on them. They also have their own originals that are great. Might I suggest "How Great Thou Art", "Man Of Constant Sorrow", "American Pie" featuring the original singer/writer Don McLean, he chose Home Free to do the 50th anniversary of his iconic song with him, "Children Go Where I Send Thee" with Kenny Rogers, he too sought out HF to do this song with him and last but not least "Helplessly Hoping" a Cosby Stills and Nash classic topped off with "Brothers In Arms" a Dire Straits classic. Thank you and again welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole. Merry Christmas and wishing you, your family and friends love, joy and peace.

Seriously, there is a playlist for Home Free that is a grand, progressive intro, a connoisseur sampler of their talents. Their arrangements sometimes enter Master class territory. Nobody talks about, not their "harmonies", etc. but their absolute vibrato and tremolo (NOT the same thing) control; their vocal timbre sculpting creating overtone stacks that ... well ... Austin's (the high tenor) timbral mastery allows him to hide from individual notice in the upper overtones ... then adjust it slightly to appear again. Tim's cantabile basso profundo creates the overtone series into which the others enter, making the overtone column twist and gyrate through the song like a towering dancer composed of vibrations shaped and moved by their vocal commands.
Start with the also seasonal "Auld Lang Syne", then progress on to "Helplessly Hoping" then their "Butts Medley".
I really want to see your reactions to these ... and to a demonstration of true mastery , "Drum Solo".

A big Happy Birthday! (Almost). Home Free is an incredible a cappella band. They are known for their harmonies. Loved the simple, serene setting. Loved the beatboxing, and Chance’s low notes. The man who started is Tim Foust and he’s the bass but has a 5 octave range and can sing super low and up to the tenor range. When Tim sings high Chance, the baritone/bass takes over bass. Chance was on the left. Austin is the high tenor and is amazing. Rob (glasses) is a tenor. Adam is the beatboxer. So many good songs. They sing a lot of covers but also write and sing their own songs. What I love about them is that they don’t mind being goofy too but silly or serious their music never suffers. Try Angels We Have Heard on High, Do You Hear What I Hear (amazing beatboxing in it), Helplessly Hoping, In the Blood. Great reaction. I just found them last year and have been amazed. They sound just as good live too.

Welcome to Home Free. I'll give you the standard warning: While their cover of Mayday is excellent you will not be as impressed as you should be unless you watch enough of their other videos that you recognize each face and know what the voice will sound like before watching Mayday. I would suggest Auld Lang Syne, Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Some Girls Do, and Die a Happy Man to get a good listen to all of their voices in leads (even the beat boxer in How Great).
If you just want some great fun watch The Butts Remix and Champagne Taste.

  • @tomhansen4576

Depending on whether you want to react to more Christmas songs first, I suggest O Holy Night, Do You Hear What I Hear and Snow Globe, a Home Free original co-written by the bass, Tim Foust. The first two recommendation include the CoFounder of the group Chris Rupp. He wears a cowboy hat in one of them. The other co-founder is his brother Adam Rupp who is a world class beat boxer, but he is more of a vocal percussionist and basically a human drum kit. If you want to react to their more traditional music, I suggest you begin with Man of Constant Sorrow, How Great Thou Art, When A Man Loves A Woman, and Bless The Broken Road for starters. Home Free has a huge fan base known as the Home Fries. Once you start reacting to HF, your channel viewership will climb exponentially. Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

One of the best early Christmas song they do with a different baritone is Do You Hear What I Hear. Filmed in Minnesota at an Ice Castle, arranged by the beat boxer, Adam Rupp. Listen for the Tenor to Bass drop in the middle by Tim Foust who sang the first lead in Mary Did You Know. They have another song they did with Kenny Rogers, Children Go Where I Send Thee. SNOWGLOBE was written by Tim and is a beautiful love song for Christmas. For a little fun try, Full of Cheer.

Love Acapella.... Love Home Free. You are so right to describe them and their sound as a Picasso in music form. Pick anything they cover ...sit back and enjoy! Plan to spend some time....

The look on your faith was priceless! I watched you and was in amazement that you seemed to be unaware of them! HOME FREE has been singing together for around 20 years. They have an extensive catalogue. Tim Foust, the bass, has a 5 octave range. Adam Rupp holds 2 World Championships in beat boxing! The other 3 are Austin Brown, Adam Chance, and Robb Lundquist! Together they are spectacular with every song they sing. If you like this song, then you should delve down the rabbit hole and explore. I could give you several Christmas Songs they have recorded but maybe later. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED YOUR REACTION. And, hey, my birthday is CHRISTMAS also. Thank you for your reaction!

Oh - also, you may remember Geoff Castellucci - the bass who 'made your testicles hurt' on Sixteen Tons. He released an incredible version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen recently, and it's completely amazing. You will love it. Geoff arranges, edit, films and does all the vocals in his videos - he is insanely talented!

And he's the bass for Voiceplay (acapella). That's another rabbit hole.

They are all amazing. They could each do their own career their voices are so good. Together they are unbelievable. I suggest Silent Night, O Holy Night, Do you Hear What I Hear? Helplessly Hoping.
