- Restoring leather Gucci Ace sneakers with Reshoevn8r! Today Vick will be showing you how to restore Gucci Ace sneakers. If you didn’t know, then now you know: RESHOEVN8R works just as well on designer sneakers as it does on your everyday Air Jordans and Yeezys.
This Gucci Ace restoration is going to require the works. Vick had to clean the entire shoe, unyellow it, fix scratches in the leather, repaint it, and fix the foil on the heel. Let’s find out how he got the job done!
The first step in this restoration of the leather Gucci Ace sneakers is a complete deep clean with the RESHOEVN8R Essential Kit. Vick used the three Brushes and Sneaker Cleaning Solution to give the Gucci shoe some fresh life. Then he used Sole Revive and the powerful UV rays of the Vick-2000 indoor setup to unyellow the soles and stitching.
Things are off to a hot start, the Gucci Ace is already noticeably better. But the deep clean uncovered some problems, mainly the big scratches in the leather. Vick used sandpaper to smooth down these areas, and filled the bigger gaps with leather filler, before sanding them flush with the material. This process is a lot more time consuming than shown here, but painting over scratches only conceals the problem, it doesn’t fix it.
Now that the damage to the leather is repaired it’s time for a fresh coat of paint. With the paint laid down, the only thing left is to fix the foil on the heel. The green foil used to be shiny and new, but now it looks dull and cracked. Vick used a soldering iron to add new foil to that area in a similar manner to his past restoration of the Legends of Summer Air Jordan 3.
With that out of the way, the restoration process is complete. Take a look at how good this pair of Gucci Ace sneakers looks now! This wasn’t Vick’s hardest restoration, but it is one of the most satisfying.

I have these and need to restore the metallic foiling in the back. Can one do so without the additional (heating?) tool you were using to apply to metallic foil?

FYI Gucci does this new thing now after 5 years of wear and if it’s badly beat up you bring your Gucci aces to the store and they will ship it off to Italy and they will try to repair it and if not they will send you a new pair
how do you remove the curve in the sole? you out a shoe tree inside but how does the restored shape of the shoe stay when its removed? thanks

Its not a machine it just looks like a fancier ice box. I don't know what he used exactly because he has that little tent like thing over it reminds me of a mini fridge though 😂. Typically ppl just use a box , line it with foil, and close it all except the spot for the uv light. A lot of ppl use 40v developer ( for hair) put on soles, cover with wrap, out in small space with uv light to whiten shoes, or just put them in the sun ( takes longer) . Then you just remove wrap and rinse the soles well. Then the soles are bleached back white. The heat can melt the glue go the soles so you need to be careful. The bottle he used must have been a devekoper just labeled for shows ,and us probably more expensive than just buying developer lol. Hope that helps. If you look up ice box for shoes you will find lots of info.

My foils are dirty and worn out to shit I've had this pair for 8 years and the rest of the shoe looks good for daily use over 8 years. Where do i get the foils what do i search for? They're so messed up and I havent found out how to properly fix them.
How much would you charge for this process? I have a pair of Gucci's I would love to refurbish. They weren't as bad as the pair in the video but they do need some TLC.. Actually I have two pairs that could use some TLC

Why don't you use a finisher anymore? Was it bad or didn't you get along with Krylon?
A lot of the paints come premixed with a finisher. Also, Vick doesn't like to mess with the finishes he has.

And airbrush and paint, lots of tape, sometimes acetone and cotton balls to remove old paint!

Hey, I came here to see the restore of the Gucci’s, all due respect I don’t think those are real. The antennas off. I know that sounds small, but the stitching is off. The little small antennas are supposed to be smooth angle straight, not crooked.
