This is amazing 😭 how can one get such joy from seeing a pair of shoes repaired?! Will the new sole wear down easily or is it durable rubber?

At the first. This shoes reminds me of any old secondhand shoes. And its so crazy and really dont nessery to buy so expensive shoes and boots at the first
Is there a way to get rid of the noticeable line where the replacement material meets the original material on the sole? Or is that an unavoidable part of a reparation? These look amazing either way 😍

Or the money to own a pair of Louboutins 🤣 I did enjoy that as well.. makes me more confused as 2 why people shell out this kinda money for a black shoe with red paint but ah well.. what do I know
And the tools!
you dont need talent, you need repetition
Yeah just found it it's 4:07
@@demitraferles7970 the tools are cheap! They used Kiwi polish! You can get that at the grocery store! And if you can’t afford a good soft brush, use soft material like flannel. Don’t use terry cloth or anything with ridges. I don’t know how microfiber would do. When my Dad used to get shoe shines they used fabric. If you do get a brush, it must be soft enough to not leave brush strokes. The polish can be applied with just about anything: cloth; a brush, a soft toothbrush; a sponge (no holes like a wedged makeup sponge or such.) The other items, water repellent and odor eliminator, you can buy in time. So to start you just need flannel rags and shoe polish, leather soap to clean, towel to dry. That’s it! A Magic Eraser will clean leather tennis shoes. I hope this helps! Oh! And keep everything in a box or basket under the sink. That way you’ll be ready to do a pair without looking around!
Imagine having to repeat all that to the second shoe😭😭😭
😱😱😱🤯🤯🤯

These shoes aren't worth the money they cost. Christian sells to his personel for 1/10 of the store price..."Luxury" items are not all made to last, some do but it still doesn't justify their price. These items are bought and worn because they show status, not for their longevity.
@@cuteviralvideos9760 I think the same
@@cuteviralvideos9760 I like this video but you are so right!
It makes me happy to see something repaired and not just thrown away.
This is exactly how you should wear expensive shoes... Until they are this broken!
I disagree. When you buy designer and luxury brands there's a certain upkeep and constant care you need to provide. Yes you should use and love it unless unusable, but if you're properly taking care of the item it will never get that way.
@@mariacordova696 that is not true, this specific brand is actually well known for their delicate soles that are iconic, but break incredibly quickly
@@crizmeow8394 I'm very well aware as I own many pairs myself. No pair of shoes I have have ever looked like this even though I wear them 3-4 times a week
@@mariacordova696 I mean, I understand taking care of the top of the shoes, but I don’t see what could be done with the damage the soles get only by walking around. Also it’s super cool you use heels to walk around! I can’t handle them, I live in sneakers
@@crizmeow8394 it's best to clean them every day and rewax the bottoms. Also try to not walk on rough surfaces. Even grounds will not wear out soles like these

Very soothing, I wish our culture valued buying things of quality and repairing them more often.
Luke, it's up to US to bring that about. People seem to think that the economy would die if people repair things. It's a warped way of living and probably the main reason the planet is in such a mess. We were not born to be rampant consumers of high end or low end goods.
@I've seen the Twinkie and the damage done it depends
More like I wish there was a living wage so most people could afford quality.
Not sure who you're referring to when you say "our culture", but I sure do wish "our culture" got paid a decent minium wage so they could have the luxury and privilege of being able to afford quality and repairs for said quality items. Worldwide, actually.
@@Gloomyraindrop I don't know who you think makes enough money to spend $1000 on something that will need a $100 fix every year or so until they're totally torn apart in 10 years, but it certainly isn't even the middle class. Raising minimum wage wouldn't help a single bit with this problem. Lowering the cost of a more sustainable solution would.
But also, most people are going to just buy new tennis shoes every 6 months because they are more comfortable and ergonomically friendly than any dress shoe could ever be. So I'm not sure it matters.
Someone is making sure that they're getting every penny out of those Louboutins! And rightfully so! Great repair job!!
Shit i couldn't blame them. Im not paying $100+ for a new pair of shoes every single year. Nah I'm getting them fixed up

How I wish I had access to someone like this! Every neighborhood used to have shoe and leather repair. A dying art. I hope more emphasis on sustainability brings us more artisans like you!
Thank you! 🙏🙏
True. Even here in Berkeley CA.
You can actually see that whoever wore these took nice care of them. She just wore them for a long time. But the heels are intact, which means she changed the heeltaps regularly, and the soles are worn out but sit well where they should be. Nothing is torn from its place. Of course, these are well-made shoes, but they are probably pretty delicate nonetheless.

It’s nice to know the owner got every last CENT out of them. I’m not a huge fan of designer but the heel on those doesn’t look ridiculous and they obviously wore them until the seems started to pop. Love it.
Overall beautiful but I don't understand why the seam on the bottom wouldn't be smoothed down somehow? Is this typical of sole repair? On a pair of Louboutins where the red sole is so iconic, I would think it would matter but maybe this is standard cobbler stuff.
Right? they end up looking like knock-offs with the seam
It’s also a completely different material what he used it like plastic and the original base of the shoe isn’t made out of the same
@@robetmenenunyg3667 it’s pretty common to use this material in Louboutin repairs. They use it as it’s more durable than the red bottom leather and will last during wears. The seam showing seems a tad annoying though, I agree. Also I’ve never liked that the color this material comes in has an orange hue to it. To me it’s very noticeable but I suppose as long as you’re not down there inspecting it’ll do the job well enough.
Or the black paint on the seam of the red. It looks so rough n cheap w the repairs
Yes the seam is annoying

Right? I didn’t understand why he made them of rubber when the original is leather! But the end result was still beautiful!
Nooo that’s not true. That red rubber sole is quite grippy. This red rubber material was made to cover Louboutin soles to make them non-slip. I have 2 pairs of Valentino shoes that I brought to the cobbler to have the soles covered in the same type of rubber so I don’t slip and fall

I feel like if the ‘seam’ on the sole was sanded down, it’d be less liable to pull up.
As in, the raised part of the red rubber that meets with the red sole. If that part had been sanded to a taper, it’d sit more flush to the sole, so it wouldn’t get snagged.
