I made that mistake w my walls. 5 gallon bucket of the right color but it showed darker on my walls. Glad to know it does this to fences too. I'll go lighter.
Thank you for this. Our current fence is so sad looking atm. We need to replace a couple sections and then I want to stain, wasn't sure how that would turn out. Will definitely try the bleach water. Wish me luck!
