Really good fucking advice right here. I started sports betting for the first time this year and made $5,500 in one week with a starting bankroll of $1,500. By week two it was ALL GONE, including my initial investment.
Chasing bets and betting so many games and changing all my bet sizes that he says not to do is EXACLY what I was doing. I couldn't take my loss like a man and tried to compensate which ended up being my demise.
I took a few weeks off, recalibrated, and built my bank roll to $3,500. I'm now trying to be more methodical and composed when approaching a bet and living with the result and formulating a new gameplan the next day as opposed to trying to win it back off emotion.
Great advice and if I hadn't seen this video I probably would've continued to make the same mistakes

Good Advice for everyone who bets on sports should know!! Key things , "you don't bet beyond your means"! Typically the average payout is 6.5 to $1.00, meaning if you win, you get $6.50 per $1.00 bet. I especially liked the advice about "HAVING A Bank"! I lived in Las Vegas for 14 yrs, I had good days and bad days. Best time to place bets is Football season.

I’ve been doing really well this basketball season and end of football year. I break all these rules. The best thing to remember is don’t have a system. Each game is different and based on human effort and error- there is no fail proof system. You have to have a knack for it. I like in game betting because you can get a feel for the game flow. Very few ‘experts’ make money at it. They over think it.

Wait a minute did you say for 1000$ bankroll unit size should be 250$? You got 4x shots here, am I missing something? Poker pro will tell you if you got 10000$ your unit size should be 100$ per bet if you don't know about compound management bankroll. According to your 1000$ bankroll example 1 unit = 10$ at least for me. Ain't nobody will become rich starting with 1000$... 4x shots for 1000$ is reckless management in my opinion. Because of sports betting variance and possibly the fact that you want to allow yourself betting more or less on specific games 100x shots is reasonable to absorb variance at mostly any games where significant luck factor can be involved, of course any games with skills involved implies that you know what you are doing = )

You should only bet 2% of your total bankroll per wager. Because of the law of numbers, everyone is bound to have losing streaks. Even professional gamblers like myself have extended losing streaks. So, to ensure you can survive a losing streak, keep your bets at 2% of your total bankroll. If you have $1,000 to invest in sports betting, you should be risking no more than $20 per bet. Want to risk more? Make more bets, don't ever risk more than 2% in any one wager. I have more advice about this at professionalgambler.org

I like this guy's logic but why no parlays? I've had my best year ever betting small units on parlays. I mean if you are going to bet a few games why not tie them together? Plus you can get in to situations where you can either middle the game or double up on one game. I figured i'd hear this from a high level sports better. No talk of hedging or middling games. Betting high units on 1 or 2 games seems a little counterintuitive. I'm not saying anybody is wrong or i am so smart after all i dont have a youtube channel but i'm curious as to why this is. No talk of value +ev, money line, i mean is he purposely not giving this stuff away?

Betting the same amount on every game seems like a bad idea to me.
I bide my time on the NFL with small bets until a week when I notice a
game that seems like a better bet than it should be.
And I try and concentrate on the teams in one division.
Trying to "know" the whole league over 16 games & playoffs
would take more time than I can spend on analyzing NFL games.

I don't bet over and under, Golf, Hockey, Tennis, Horse Racing, or Car Racing at all. Because these sports are almost impossible to make a profit on each year. If you like betting Golf and can afford it make sure you place your BET LIVE in the 4th ROUND because the best golfers have bad days alot. These guys like Dustin, Morikawa, Thomas, and Berger are not as consistent as Woods and Jack were when they played.

The absolute key that Mr Stevens mentioned is BEING SOBER. Drugs and/or alcohol and making a LOGICAL decision does not add up. you may get "lucky" every now and again while high or drunk, but if you want THE MONEY flowing in on a steady basis then you have to stay free of drugs and/or alcohol..Thanks for this important information Mr.Stevens
P.S. being sober is the key to success no matter what you do in life..

Anyone betting one game a week is not having fun betting. I bet about 6 to 24 games a week. Betting 3 dollars is like betting 1 dollar so I don't see a problem with what I'm doing. It really depends on the odds and what teams are playing against what teams. If the Ravens are playing the Chiefs or the Packers are playing the Seahawks I probably would not even bet the pro that week.

Which odds you would normally prefer in decimals?

    • @Mike73010
      @Mike73010 3 года назад

I won't bet a team just because the number is great, for example the Jets + 14.5 or the Jaguars +10.5. I would not bet these teams under any circumstances this year. The only time I bet the Jets is when they had Darrelle Revis, Cromartie, and Bart Scott. There is a saying that if you bet bad teams then bad things happen. It has nothing to do with luck and everything to do with the players just not being good on certain teams.

@@Mike73010 good thank you for reply I am just confused about one thing which odds should I choose for long run for example say I am confident in a game should I go like 1.5 odds or 2 odds every single games

I am not sure what your asking me Kumar. I bet teams not numbers. I like betting Green Bay, Colts, and Tampa Bay this year. I like betting teasers only in NFL. The regular spread is extremely hard in NFL football. Money Line bets are bets I really like even with 2 or 3 team money line parlays. I only money line a favorite though, because if I like the underdog in the game, then I just take the 3.5 or 4.5 or tease it to 7.5. I really do not like betting more than 3 teams on a parlay. I hardly ever bet 4 teams or more on a parlay. It is like playing the lottery, especially in the NFL with those refs and coaches messing up alot.

    1000 bankroll
250 a gsme. You only have 4 chances. Seems like you need more if you bet 250 a game.
