Kata Suad Pan Yaks (Kata Taw Waes Suwan) True Name: Aadtaanathiya Paritta - The Kata used for a Major Portion of the Suad Pan Yaks Thai Brahman/Buddhist/Occult ceremony to speak with the Asura Kings of the Jadtumaha Rachiga Realm, and request protection and auspicious blessings - Taw Waes Suwan (Guberan).
This chant is a little more complex for me but it is interesting .although that's scariest form of the bhudda that I've seen and what is the English translation?
+Jim Walsh Oh, if you are referring to the angry, dark-complexioned, fanged bloke at the right of the screen from 0:00 - 0:24, don't worry - he's not a scary form of the Buddha. His name in Thai is Thotsakan (from the Sanskrit, Dasakantha, a symbolic epithet meaning "one who has ten heads"). In Indian Hinduism, Thotsakan is most often referred to as Raavana. He belonged to the ancient rakshasa race and was the evil King of Lanka who abducted Princess Sita, the earthly avatar of the Hindu Goddess Lakshmi who was the wife of the Hindu Prince Rama (himself, an avatar of Vishnu.) Thotsakan is a character in the Thai epic called Ramakien, which tells the story of how Rama, his brother Lakshman, and their loyal and strong friend Hanuman set out to rescue Rama's wife Sita from where she was being held captive in Lanka. Ramakien is the Thai version of the Indian epic Ramayana. Despite Thotsakan's evil actions, the Hindu epic Ramayana and the heavily Buddhist-influenced Thai version Ramakien both end with Raavana's realisation as he lay there dying that his actions were wrong, but that it was a Blessing to die without remaining deluded by the erroneous thinking which had led him to cause so much pain and suffering. Thotsakan/Raavana continues to be depicted in both Hindu and Buddhist art because of his karmic role being inextricably tied to that of the other more virtuous characters. And his dying realisation and acceptance of the Truth of the dhamma is thus celebrated. The Ramayana is amongst the world's longest poems ever written, so this is the best summary I could provide here=) I hope this information is helpful. All the way from Cyprus, and with Metta 🙏
+Jim Walsh I'm glad=) I only just discovered this beautiful chant today and would also like to be able to learn it, along with its English meaning. I will work on it and send it to you on here once I come up with something.
