St. Theresa of Avila, please pray for me that I may quiet my inner voice and my advance to my soul to ever unite myself with Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit.
My late wife and I went to Avila a couple of times. It appeared to have some significance for us. This is beyond catholicism and far above "religion". God bless you for posting this.
Catholicism is about believing in the seen and unseen; this involves tuning our lives with the spiritual realm. For example, you wouldn’t want to tell others that they need treatment without acknowledging their use of ‘tools’ as they live a life of recovery.
It is Jesus Himself, not any denomination, who ties everything together. That is the true sense of the word 'religion '. He came to establish a relationship, to restore, the rest follows but means nothing without the relationship.
Theresa's meditation is where She found the Holy Spirit within. In the silence Our awareness experiences Our Spirit that's the unchanging She mentioned. This realisation is Our Self-realization that boosts Our connection to the Divine, and Our discernment & wisdom, as seen in Her prayer. Be still for 5 minutes twice a day and after a few days the mind will become calm and quiet down and not be able to steal Your attention which should be loosely held above the head. After a few months of consecutive practice One will experience, lets just say, something profound. ♾💚 🧘♀️🧘♂️

Focus on your breath dear one, calm down stay in the moment. Past and future might create desire/ suffering/anxtiey. Often things of the past are suffered more in imagination throughout time. Let not the arrow of yesterday keep hitting you till eternity. Dont insult consciousness by forcing it to take identity or try to trap it in a box.
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with Me" (Revelation 3:20)
This was a treasure, and I am so grateful that you do not allow commercials to interrupt the meditation. It was God's Grace that allowed me to get so close to him.
This came to me this morning on a ray of light. It drove away my shadows and put demons to their flight. The spark of hope burst into flames and glowed peacefully in sight !! Thank you Lord for protecting me through my darkest night. Amen 🙏 ♥ ☀

Fear as Teresa says is the culprit. Be vigilant. See it in all its seductive guises. It is pernicious. Anything you think you are or take yourself to be is not you. Reject all and you will come to realize what you are not. What you are can never be known.

I take refuge in the Perfectly Enlightened One of Immeasurable Light and Life. This is the translation of the Pure Land Buddhist mantra Namo Amitabha Buddha, Namu Amida Butsu in Japanese. But we can just as easily see the Christian Godhead, the Holy Trinity, as the Perfectly Enlightened One of Immeasurable Light and Life. The teachings of St. Teresa of Avila remind me much of those of Jodo Shinshu (Japanese True Pure Land Buddhism). May the teachings of Christian mystics be the place where Western believers who find peace and wisdom in the teachings of Buddhism reconnect with their Christian heritage and recognize the True Word was there all along, as well.
