  • Welcome to Knit to Fit!
My name is Lena and I am purLZknitting!
I am a designer on a mission to create knitwear with a better fit.
I have changed the name of my knitcast (it's not really a podcast; videocast didn't sound right) from Better Fitting Knits to Knit to Fit. The previous name was not bad but I used Knit to Fit for my Ravelry group and to keep it all consistent I decided to have it all under one name.
This is a series of weekly videos about all the knitting topics, mostly :).
In this knitcast I review my knitting needle cases, talk about my WIP, new design to be released, future designs, and other things.

Hi there! I found your videos recently. And I'm enjoying watching these.
This year I got back to knitting after a long break(three decades). I was a child when I was taught knitting. I spent a lot of time online searching for best needles. I am a collector now.
First I bought sets of straight needles. I bought double pointed needles as well since the magic loop technique is new to me. Also, I didn't know about flying needles. Recently, I found out what the flex needles are for. And it looks so much easier to use. Not sure if I should start my returns. But at least I did buy the wooden sets, symfonie, that I enjoy to have in my collection. Even though choosing a right needle is personal I AGREE with your reviews on ChiaGoo, Hyia, and Addi.
After your reviews, I added a few titles to my amazon list. And I love Thread and Maple. But it's so expensive. So, I will first collect the pages only one at a time. And then when I have a quite a few then I will buy the overall case for all!.

I really like you sharing all those cases. Because I was shopping for a long time for the perfect case for me, I am familiar with most that you share. I had purchased my case before I saw your video though. I chose Grace Deluxe Case, because I wanted something I could put ALL my Chiagoo sets. I have the complete 4" and all 3 minis, plus all cables in multiple of each length. I didn't get the case yet as I ordered just a couple days ago. I was afraid it would not suit my needs. But your video made me see I chose the perfect one for me. Yes, it is a bit big, but I do not travel with my needle, for me it is just a All case storage. Thank you for sharing all that with us.

I went to a second hand store for a Halloween costume and guess what was shining on a shelf for 4.00.? That 60.00 principles of knitting book!!!! I haven't had much time to enjoy it yet. But i think it will be a great resource. I already have the vogue knitting that i go to. Although honestly the little "cast on cast off" and "increase decrease" spiral bound books get the most use because they are specific and so handy when I'm in the middle of a project.
I totally agree about the new lantern moon needles. They have too steep of a hump and my yarn is getting stuck there. Although i hold my yarn in my right hand so I knit a bit on the tighter side... i have nice and even stitches from knit to purl, not strangled by any means. So it's not me, it's the needles. I'm loving the ebony, the tips are nice and the chords are great. The end caps are a bit heavy and large and catch and tangle my yarn. I'm giving them a good trial though to see if I like them more than my favorite lykke. Everything is interchangeable with my lykke so it was a reasonably safe purchase. I'm so jealous you got the new chiagoo forte!!!! Sadly I missed out on them. I'm looking forward to your review of those because I'm positive it will be detailed and well thought out in your excellent way. Knitting along on the sassy.😁 I made a silly mistake on the lace very early on. which because of my yarn choice I didn't see for way too long(I knit back on a wrong side row that should have been purled 🤯) I should have put in a lifeline like you suggested.🤣 now I am looking at those purl bumps knowing I need to rip back and start the short row section all over. Except I intended this to be a wearable sample to see just how much yarn I needed so I'm on the fence about ripping back... I am using a natural fingering merino held together with a lace weight mohair to make a dk weight (because I had more than enough left over from another project) I'm loving the fabric and texture of it! And I'm really looking forward to getting to the back so i can try it on. 🙂
Lovely hat! 😍 I'd love to see a few pics of you wearing it to see how you style it. Short hair always makes hat wearing look like I'm bald when very little hair peeks out. 🤣 hope you had a nice holiday weekend! Cheers!

You got sooo lucky with that book! June has all the answers to everything!!! Its my go to book for everything! I will post a review on forte when I get it. I hope my order will not be cancelled or something. I still cant believe I got it! It looks like my perfect set of needles and a case!
I can’t wait to see your Sassy! What a good combo of yarn! Make sure to make the same mistake everywhere so you dont have to rip back.
I will take pictures of my forever hat and post more. With sporty look, or elegant look, or more badassy look.
Thank you! You are always making my day!

OMG... I thought I had a lot of needles, but you have enough needles for 20+ WIPS and still more. I have found that I love buying needles as well and would also pick up extra needles for commonly used sizes... just in case. You have a stunning collection and I was hoping you could show your yarn or book collection. Hope you have a great day and thanks for sharing your collection with us.

Books and yarn stash sharing can be arranged😂.
      Thank you for your comment!!!!
In my early stages as a designer, probably 2014 or earlier, I had 20-30 necklines on the needles. Just to figure out how to make it fir the right way. When I got tired of switching needles around , I started getting new individual tips for my 2 full sets of Chiaogoos.
I go thru periods when I give love to my other needles and I had to have an obscene amount of needles for a few other brands I favor. Same reason, just to have side by side compare of hundreds or thousands of necklines I knitted just to figure out a way to shape the worked in the round necklines.
Well, that is my excuse for having so many needles 😂. But I am probably a hoarder!!!!!

      Hello!
I checked and I believe its no longer made. Unfortunately. The closest in look and feel but with different organization would be Grace's Cases on Etsy.
      Sorry!
I had to show it but sometimes it happens that they get discontinued.

I so want the Maxwell utility roll, I want the Chiaogoo sock set (my son bought me the hiya hiya sock for Christmas) I want to know the flexible dpn’s you use (I’ve built up the sizes in crasytrios but yours look like flyers?). I think I need to cool my jets on all the equipment and learn to knit better with what I have 😉. Love watching you chat about knitting ❤

Over 51 minute long video! Aaaagh - I might 'watch it before buying a knitting needle case' if it wasn't such a long video, just sayin. I figure 10 to 15 minutes is long enough to give me needle storage tips.
