    A few pointers I'd like to add.
    Bringing the butt up higher will result in less travelling. Remember when you bring your butt higher, bend your legs a bit and push the feet further towards the ceiling, this will bring your centre of balance in line with your spin spot on your back, however remember to keep your knees wide apart until the pull in.
    Curving your shoulders forward will allow you to spin on a very small part of your back, resulting in less friction (more speed, more spins)

    Hey Vincani! I just wanted to say I like your teaching style! You're straight to the point, and you seem to leave your personal views out of the teaching, which I think is great. I'm a violin teacher myself, and I think your method of breaking it down- and remembering to say "practice slowly!!" at the end of the video!- is excellent =).     @Feffysue So what you gotta do is go back to the beggining and practice this slowly like slow motion 10 times. Then rest and do it another 10 times. Do this until your clean. Dont even spin just get that motion down. You must be kicking your legs wrong which is making you spin all crazy, Once you get a good spin all you have to do is relax and lean back. Hope this helps

    Hey, I just want to say thanks for posting this video. I am now able to execute the basic windmill motions in a relatively fluid motion. Now it is just a matter of conditioning, speeding up, and working on my flexibility :D!

    @caman2011 a lot of people have trouble because they arn't kicking in a circle around their body so try that. Also make sure you can get to your back smoothly.

    I had this problem before. I'm not a b-boy, but I tried this move with this tutorial. What I did was to push my hand on the ground more aggresively, as well as kicking my leg harder. And as much as possible, stay spinning on your shoulders. I hope this helps. :)

    I actually learned how to windmill before I learned how to do quality backspins, so I found I was always off balance when doing backspins. Your explanation about symmetry made so much sense and pretty much instantly fixed my problem!

    @AlejandroBlackMusic Oh umm once you do your initial kick there not much besides tucking your legs. What you could do is kick back into windmills or another power move and kick again

    This part I'm stuck on 1:40 - 2:11. When I try to Kick my right leg around when i'm on my back, my left can't push it to backspin. (I may have to post a video to help it explain it a little better)

    I dont get enough speed for the 360° Circle like he gets at 2:30.
    Do I need to train my leg muscles or am I doing something wrong?
    I also dont get it how I pull the speed with my arm
    My breakdance trainer says I am stretching my legs very far, which is very nice.

      If you are referring to pain in the wrist, then you want to stretch out your wrists. Their are many types of wrist stretches that you may find all over the internet.

    One more, and it's most important.
    Before attempting to actually do a backspin, it really helps to just hold the backspin shape, far too many noobs attempt to spin when they don't have sufficient core strength/balance, and just end up wobbling about and their butts drop to the floor. Hold it a few times a day, multiple attempts, this will also strengthen the neck muscle to keep your head from dropping back.
    If you want to see the best examples of a backspin, check out Maurizio in the 90's

    Whats up yall I just wanted to say make sure you guys master this Freeze before moving on to windmills. This will help you understand how to kick and collapse. When I post windmill part 2 this will really help you by having this basic down.

    I was gonna start bboying and I was thinking I should start off with moves like these, windmill etc. and then on the side I will do bodyweight exercises to prepare for moves like flares, instead of just jumping into flares. Is that a smart plan?

      Before you start doing power moves, it's best to begin with the basics(freezes, fundamental footwork, top rocks, etc.). Regardless of how strong you are, proper form comes from mileage.

    Im not sure if im doing something wrong but when i try the rolling to your back (fall to shoulders part time 1:10) i feel this weird pain in my ribs but when i try it faster (slightly faster nothing impressive) i dont feel anything. sooo am i doing something wrong?

    @mychey91 Umm which hand do you feel is stronger? eventually you should piolit and cricket on both hands so get that down before you attempt windmills. Which ever you feel is stronger use that arm and the opposite leg to kick

    What I mean by the crescent slowing down is when it starts approaching the end of its forward movement (going "in") and starts curving backwards (going "out").

    @523hunter its true, do the 1 steps instead of trying to do the spin. i got my back spin down by doing his fist steps. it really gives a feel where the floor should be on your shoulders

    hey i wanna breakdance but i dont have fat so it really hurts when i lay on my back? what can i do about that?

      You might be too low. A lot of people end up spinning on their spin which is bad so try leaning farther back.

    I'm not even flexible enough to do that crescent kick or to assume that position on my back with my legs up like that. Can you advise some stretches I can do to maybe improve my flexibility in order to be able to do it? Thanks!

    Ok, so I'm making progress. One early don't I had to figure out was cheating on the tumbling exercise by using your elbows/shoulders; no cheating with the upper body, just kick through it!
    No. 2 was similar; don't add the hand pull too early, just work on getting more and more propulsion with your crescent kick. Also, I don't know if this is right, but I'm now doing 2 kicks; the crescent, then kicking through with the leg on the floor at about the point where the crescent starts slowing down.

      +Waddles Gaming | Try to touch your toes every day. Just do a ton of stretches on your legs for like 2-3 weeks and you'll be like spaghetti.
