    Great video. I have at 2009 Sportage. The arrangement is a little different than the one in the video. The white piece with the two pegs that you see at 22:21 does not exist in this model year, even though it may be packaged with the replacement actuator. If it is part of the replacement package, it must be removed. Before removing, check that the position of the white piece is roughly as shown in the video at 22:21. As the video says, this is the defroster postion. Also, before beginning, do a few things: 1) start the car and set the dash panel knob to the defroster setting, 2) place the three screws and a stubby philips screwdriver where they will be accessible when you are contorted under the steering wheel, 3) checck that the white piece is roughly in the orientation shown in the video at 22:21 (mine was, yours will probably arrive that way, too), 4) remove the white piece with the two pegs from the actuator body, 5) place the actuator where it will be accessible. Then, just as shown in the video, install the white cam (don't place the actuator onto the cam, yet). This take 300% patience, because it will probably take 3 unsuccessful trials. There are 4 pegs. Three fit into tracks on the back side of the cam. The 4th fits beween the bottom two levers. And the center of the cam must fit over the center post. And the cam should be in the counterclockwise extreme, as shown in the video (defroster position). Once you get everything right with the cam, hold onto that cam while fitting the actuator body onto the shaft of the cam (remember, the actuator should be conveniently nearby) and over the screw holes. Then install one of the screws tightly. That should hold things, so that you can breath deeply and install the other two screws.

      @@jfGarage4k The large, round-ish white plastic plate at time 18:50 is not connected the same in my 2009 Hyundai Tucson and had fallen off! It seemed by chance, my system was stuck on defrost so this example just happened to be *perfect* for me to see how to align everything. And as a bonus, the advice to move(remove) the air duct was a huge help with space to work. I feel I should also mention that seeing you take apart the motor and gear box helped me figure out how to get mine working because I also had to do that. Thank you, thank you!

    Just one question. Mine is not moving at all when I turn the knobs, do you know the name of the back piece? So I can replace it maybe?

      The black piece from this video that i replaced is called a Mode door actuator driver side. Take the old part out and plug the wiring/connector see if the gear moves.

    I have a 2008 Tuscon with the exact same parts/problem. I ordered the actuator and it comes with the white piece attachment. Any info on how to hook up the white piece with the arms/pins that fit in the little grooves and channels of the white piece? It seems to be a one handed job, which makes it difficult.

      @jfGarage4k  2 года назад

      I was going to buy that part that white piece but i end up getting the actuator motor.
      To Install the white piece aka plastic cam, you need to calibrate the plastic piece first. Mirror image the old piece to your new part so that they go in the right way. If they are not same image use the dial Knob to control the actuator to rotate the plastic piece to make them Mirror image. Now your ready to remove the old piece and install the new part.

      @@jfGarage4k Thanks for your reply! So I made it a bit more complicated because a few weeks ago I ordered just the actuator motor and while the part number matched, it had been updated and didn't fit the white plastic cam connection. I removed the white cam to get a closer look, and I manually opened a vent so the mode would at least blow air out the front vents. My new part will arrive tomorrow with the matching plastic white cam already attached. Now I just need to figure out the complicated part of how to line up the arms/pins that go into those little grooves and channels of the cam with no reference on position. I guess it'll be trial and error. I'm a little concerned that I won't be able to get it properly installed just going under the driver side floor access. Any further tips/advice is greatly appreciated!

      I been to this situation before and this procedure work awesome, If you need to move the arm/pin on the new actuator plug the wire connector in and dial in the control knob to move the arm/pin to the right angle u need to Install it on the plastic cam. Good luck

    I too have a 2006 model Tucson, right hand drive vehicle, it is also having the same problem, but the AC mode actuators is located on the drive side area, after seeing this video, I just unplugged the actuator, so that it doesn't make the noise but the other modes will not be available, I don't know where to buy a new actuator, I live in India, here not much Tucsons are there
