I just did a similar repair(plastic gear had broken teeeth). This video was extremely helpful. Although, that black vent pipe was so much harder to get out than it looked in your video.
Hi, I have a 2008 Sportage LX. We can not get that black vent pipe out, its like there is screw in there or something. We don't want to break anything. Or may take try to loosen the dash panel over it to see what is holding it. How did you get it out? Thanks
@@Kraz3d4073 it's been awhile I don't remember any specific trick I think I had to get aggressive with it and wiggle it every which way I could figure until it finally came out

On the outside roads, gasoline is consumed a lot, but on the roads it consumes gasoline a little. I know this because I bought my car in 2009 from Kia. Gasoline was widely consumed in external routes
Hi Dahen, at 00:29, did you previously loose that plastic vent? When i try to do the same on my Kia Sportage 2008 it doesnt come off! Actually it barely moves that easy as in your video. So i was wondering you did something before. I dont want to pull it too hard and break something. Using a cellphone camera i think i saw some kind of plastic nails holding that plastic piece but its hard to tell. Any suggestions here? I need to check the actuator since is not working at all. Thanks!
I just got it out. There are 3 notches near the end of the vent that hold it in place. I don't see an easy way to disengage those notches other than pulling like hell. Don't be afraid to break it. Just keep yanking on it until it comes out

Experienced mode knocking in Kia Sportage 2009 from Burns Chevrolet in Spartanburg. They promised to repair it and locked glove box when I brpught it back by. They kept it 2 weeks. Said it was unrepairable. They just took out the actuator to stop knocking. I have not made 1st payment. Should I?

Commonly called a blend door actuator, or HVAC actuator. Caution the terms used are non specific and it can be confusing. There may 3+ HVAC actuators on a vehicle. Common are Vent Mode (controls are flow to floor, center, defrosts), that is what he replaced. There will a recirculate actuator and heat blend door actuator that controls how much air is run across the heater core. KIA 2009-2010 Sportage Heater Control Mode Actuator Genuine 97154-1F200. We have a 2008 and can not figure out how to get the plastic vent hose out, Dahen just pulls it out, ours seems to be screwed in and we don't want to break something.
