In Japan Twitter, it is rude to reply to someone directly if they are not following each other. It is very common to retweet a tweet and add a tweet afterward because they want to share their thought or just even silly random commentary to their followers only. This is what people who engage in cancel culture don't get, everyone got their own boundaries and comfort zone, it is IMPOLITE to throw your opinion on a stranger and force them to provide their beliefs, even on the internet.
Ironically enough, they’re pushing Eurocentric/Western views and values upon the world. They complain about imperialism, yet they participate in a dumbed down version of it.
Westerners don't usually understand the concept of politeness.
@@TheRealGigachad1848 Because they think politeness takes away their freedom.
I'm not on Twitter, but I wouldn't have known about that unspoken rule even if it were in English on other platforms. I have a hard time with stuff like that in general, even in person.
Edit: the retweets, I mean.

I love that Twitter is such a cesspool of narcissism. People literally are so self-centered that they can't imagine other countries having languages and cultures outside of their own.

It's basically always people from the West they ironically preach about love and respect and equality among everyone but think of themselves as the only moral authority on the entire planet. If your culture is considered bigoted, it must be destroyed, and by extension, if you are part of that culture, you too must be destroyed. It's no wonder that a lot of other countries that just outright ban the rainbow mafia also never have to deal with any of this sh!t. Not saying that should be the solution, but damn does it look more appealing every single day.

People got to really understand. Some Japanese people live under a rock (no offense) and try not to listen to trash media we Americans consume. They just want to play video games and scroll social media peacefully. My friend is 52 and is like that. Cats are his obsession online.
He hates American side of social media because it's "depressing".
Is your friend Japanese? I don't blame him. It's so depressing to be constantly surrounded by the fake news on social media as someone who sees through the lies.

Dopamine rush. Twitter (and other social media) with their like/dislike ratio and such are built to get you hooked on the attention. However people quickly discover that saiying "today I had carrots for lunch. I like carrots" doesn't yield as many retweet/like/notifications as saying "GOD YES CARROTS. WE SHOULD BRUTALLY KILL ANYONE WHO DOES NOT LIKE THEM CARROTS". These platform are litteraly built to bring out the worst in human beings through dopamine addiction, which is why it's never a surprise to see these terminany online people always having such hateful manners. "He acted like a child just telling people over and over to learn Japanese"
No, he didn't. You don't reward bad behaviour by giving someone what they want. All these people harassing him are the ones acting like children going around throwing tantrums at _perceived_ bigotry because it's all they're ever looking for. He did nothing wrong and has shown his support for the LGBT+ community. Also, he didn't "allow" all kinds of transphobic people to view his tweets. He's on a social media platform where _everyone_ can see his tweets, regardless if they're transphobic or not. It's not his job to police what other people do, which is something that the harassers will never learn for themselves.
Learning Japanese is a great idea
It reminds me with what happened to Kamiya...

Dont call people BIGOT for not supporting and encouraging a lie. It should be the other way around we are supposed to oppressed the lie and support the truth.
He didn't deserve any harassment to begin with, but at least the people asking for explanations weren't harassing him, they were in fact being quite polite.
As for telling people to learn Japanese, that is the same thing as telling a Japanese to go learn english if they don't understand something and ask for an explanation. He did eventually give the explanation, so the question here is why not answer right away?
And regardless of that, it seems like the misunderstanding was more of a cultural barrier rather than a language barrier, as it was explained in other tweets that he retweeted later on. So again, why tf tell people to just go learn Japanese instead of deescalating things?
Telling someone to go study a whole new language isn't gonna help by any means (in the short term), specially when you consider how complex and different from western languages Japanese is.

So Ito basically said, "Just make gender neutral spaces for trans people, and gave a basic definition of what a woman is, answering Matt's wtf question that sadly people can't answer" but twitter took that common sense advice as an attack? I'm sorry WHAT!?
Because that's not what they want to hear. They want to hear that he thinks trans people should be able to go into any space of their gender of choice without issue and that there are no gender definitions and anyone should be able to immediately just be 100 percent the gender they want. And otherwise you're a transphobe. A well thought out solution to the "problem" is not what people want to hear they just want to be validated and told they can do whatever they want and everyone else has to 100 percent believe what they believe. It's no different that politics at the end of the day.
because in twitter, not kowtowing and prostrating yourself to their opinion is tantamount to murder.
I wish I was joking but people genuinely believe that even asking questions is somehow harmful to their ideology or views, which is extremely telling about the intelligence (or lack thereof) of the speaker.
Ive seen parts of matt walsh's "what is a women" documentary. The people who he interviews one of which includes a college professor completely crumble at basic clarifying questions.
It's exactly that. What Ito-san believes is exactly the same as jkr.

You know when you're called every derogative thing in the book so often on Twitter, you just get to the point where you just stop caring anymore. The only people that actually care come in the types of looking for clout or believing people on Twitter have legitimate power over you. Regardless of what it is, you are forced to respond sometimes because they treat it more like a sport rather than actually doing anything good.
I wouldn't blame Japanese Twitter for wanting to block westerners completely.
You're right, by making name calling and so called "criticism" such a trivial and meaningless, purely subjective and whimsical matter they're turning disagreements and genuine concerns and topics a completely fictional existance, when any kind of polemic boils down to someone not liking you. Online debate barely exists anymore, it's all clout and schoolyard child fighting.
The best thing to do is to just stick to your views and just assume everyone is simply trying to destroy you for no reason. And that, essentially, means that people are generally invited to become jaded and uncaring about anything that doesn't involve them and their own ideas and fixations.

You don't need to explain anything to anyone, you do you.
How can they know what they’re saying if they don’t understand the language?
What's weird with Twitter is that you can't have a moderate idea on a subject and build up a dialogue on it, you are either with them ("them" is a bit broad as a word here, not in a derogatory way, it's just easier for me to write in this way) or you're transphobe, no inbetweens, and it ends up like this, with a Japanese man (completely out of the loop of western sensibility) tweeting part of an argoument he agrees on (as he stated) but Western SJWs just immediatly go for the transphobe thing (and harrass/insult too cause why not, he posted a screenshot with someone saying "that's why you're old and alone")
"Them" being broad is pretty accurate; as even within their circles they don't even agree and will attack each other the moment they sense weakness among their ranks, let alone if one subgroup goes against another subgroup.

Well, the older you get, the harder it is to learn anything, really. So blaming yourself for being bad at linguistics isn't all that.. adequate. You can do that, but believe me, self loathing will do you no good.
In addition to that - Japanese, or, any language in the Asian part of the world, is incredibly intricate and complex (well, besides basic Korean, but when you get into the more complex part of Korean, it gets on pratically the same level), so, it goes without saying that it will take hundreds, if not thousands of hours to learn it. Start off slow, and pick up the pace where you can. Don't overwork yourself, don't try to step over stones, because, as a wise man once said - "Just like a house needs a set foundation, so do you. Being told to do research before you accuse people of things isn't insulting unless it's true that you're ignorant of the context. But just because you're ignorant doesn't mean someone else is obligated to educate or inform you of anything. It's your own personal responsibility to be educated and informed before making accusations. There's a difference between saying "I don't understand" and "you realize that's offensive."
They're attacking the guy who makes monsters based off deep seated trauma and phobias and whatever else?
Reading Japanese names is really simple and easy, I don't know why people keep saying them wrong. Hero just straight up called him Mashiro 1:02 no sweat. It's Ma-sa-hi-ro. Each one sounding like they are written. you don't have to guess anything, just how did Ma-sa become Ma-shi.
I think in this case it might not be about pronunciation rather than misreading.
I swear those terminally online people go in a blind rage just by seeing an image of Matt Walsh
Good, he's our king
Twitter is probably the one social media i use the most rarely.
If i ever become a popular person, twitter will certainly NOT be the place to post. Neither reddit
Man.. That's a major blunder for trans activists. You attacked someone who calls for accommodation for everyone and doesn't want people to focus on the dangers of one group to then only be attacked by someone who's supposed to be standing up for that one group.
It must be nice to be able to harass and attack people with zero consequences, because they're a "marginalized group". While at the same time being supported and defended by society, government and major corporations.
I don't understand why some people still defending those radical twitter freaks? I mean what they get for defending them?
Somehow now i kinda believing maybe in Illuminati existence behind them. LOL. I mean it's kinda miracle for such radical band of freaks still exist up until now. It kinda mind blowing, that people defending them
Yup a herd of mentally ill bully's

It just shows how much of a person they are if they don't understand the simple concept of different culture. The Internet isn't located in the US exclusively.
If the person crying about Matt Walsh also cant be bothered to properly translate what someone else wrote before crying about them, then the problem is that person not the one's they're crying about.
Ito is a great person and will willingly interact with fans on social media, he has with me. Hope he blocks all those clowns.
I don't understand the whole transohobia thing. Nobody has irrational fear of people getting plastic surgery to wear woman face. I do, however, fear these people do not know the medical consequences, they will suffer from transitioning
The best thing japanese users of Twitter could do: pull a Hideki Kamiya
Tens of thousands of blocked accounts...
Well we do have the right to block anyone we want right?
Imagine insisting a Japanese man speak in clear English and then being upset when he doesn’t/can’t
Twitter continues to prove the existence of the horseshoe theory
In regards to the locker-room thing, it's such a strange conflict. See, I am pretty lax about nudity, I don't care about watching other people when changing, so if there was a merry mix of men and women, I'd scarcely notice. But, I am well outside the norm, I think.
The men's locker room is for men, that being human males. The women's locker room is for women, human females. Regardless of how they identify. If you, as a transwoman, go into the women's locker room and face protest, your humanity is not denied. We recognise you as a human being with human rights. And we recognise that you entered the wrong dressing room. You're still human, and you can go and be human in the men's dressing room, because you are, in the end, a human male.
And it's okay to be a human male. It's every bit as good as being a human female. It's just not the same thing, and most people are uncomfortable with being naked together with strangers of the opposite sex. They have rights, too.
I like that in Japan game devs can have differing opinions unlike the US where they all seem to be an echo chamber
The whole idea of identity in Japan is quite expansive since very early on. Even in tribes before America was invaded by the Europeans, gender for them was much more complex and multi-faceted. The ideas of gender being just two things are only born from European ideology where even then, men are held up in high regards. It would be better if the "rules" we set up for gender were done away with so people can live as themselves instead of what the world expects them to be.
It's true, about how Google Translate doesn't have the best translation quality, like how タイマン(tai man) is translated as "Thai man", when in reality タイ comes from 対("tai") meaning "faced, opposed", so the literal translation is "vs. man". Also, asking a Japanese guy to speak English is so rude. In Japan it's considered a very difficult language because if you pay attention to his text, there are a few small typos like writing "an" before a consonant sound word, and saying "I'm not transphobia" when he meant to say "I'm not transphobic". English is difficult for Japanese speakers because grammar structure(English is subject + verb + object; Japanese has verb and object swap places), pronounciation(English speakers have more sounds than Japanese people), context(unlike the English language, Japanese is more dependent on context like pronouns such as "I" or "you" are omitted, but the sentences do make sense based on context, like 私は学生です("watashi wa gakusei desu", I am a student) can be shortened as 学生です(gakusei desu)).
"Explain to me in English" The most American thing next to gun obsession. I've heard this demanded even in my country where it isn't an official language, and of course, from an American. Russians might be the second worst offender assuming they'll get thru everything using Russian, but with less arrogance.
no russians are worse, got them in my country and these nibbas really want to ellect russian flies who wage wars on countries with russians in it.. meaning once its under controll they are forgotten, just like in Ukraine. Voting for their own death
Why is the right to self defense an "obsession".

Everytime when someone demands "speak English" I can't help but to imagine that individual as an entitled person who never finished school and never bothered with languages.
Then again, being from Finland, we have to study English and Swedish in school and have the options to study more.
If your ability to be alive requires every stranger on the planet to support you, you've got much worse problems than reading words on twitter lol
ok- that, was a bit uncalled for. this is bluds job most likely.
Dunno about y'all but I agree with Matt Walsh. I think transgenderism is absolutely ridiculous.
Ok tbh i dont understand why everyone hates matt. I watched his movie he made "what is a Woman" and it actually brings up some good points. Yes sometimes it can be taken offensively but what stood out to me is the interview with Scott who is a trans man. Basically saying how Hormone blockers aren't reversible and have bad side affects and how it can potentially really hurt someone. So yes things he said can be taken with a grain of salt I think it's also great for understanding other things
When someone from the country that created futanari has to explain what a woman is, you know you've gone too far.
A phobia is an irrational fear of something that shakes people to their core to the point where they can't even function. I have a phobia of falling from great heights, the ocean in general and being stuck unable to move in a confined space. My point is I don't think most people are deathly afraid of trans people. Phobia is now being used to label other's that maybe just don't understand the situation. isn't being labeled something that your not a hate crime? People can be so ignorant and hateful just for clout on the internet. It's really sad
These people don't know what an actual phobia feels like but they label any criticism as such. I can't stand static heights, and I button up real quick. Same for deeper than my height bodies of water but that came about from coming within seconds of drowning. Additionally large groups of people also cause me to experience the claustrophobic feeling I get from being in deep water. You'd also think making light of someone's mental hang-ups like phobias by claiming criticism as a phobia or any other random shit of the week as a phobia would be mocking mental health. Last I checked they don't like people making light of mental health, while they simultaneously do that themselves lol.
@@dondon5011 yep and words like racists pedo and gaslighting are thrown around so much that It waters down the true meaning of those words making it easier for the people who are actually those things hide in plain sight and no one bats an eye.

As someone who is studying jappanese I can say that:
I don't understand it. I said studying, not studied.
But that's kinda funny ""Can't you just speak in english" they say to a Japanese man" is my favorite quote
My favorite is the one where the person with the trans flag icon was basically told they sound like a Trump supporter! That is the funniest real-life irony I have ever witnessed!😂
Being called transphobic is meaningless on Twitter when saying literally anything remotely disagreeable gets you the label. It’s like the achievement you get in games right at the beginning when you pickup your first weapon or something that 99% of other players already have.
Twitter freaks: How could you retweet Matt Walsh! Are you transphobic?
Ito: I don't even know who that is.
We need a Silent Hill game but it's set inside the collective unconscious of twitter users mind.
Add to this a plethora of body horror, and this game shall be juicy. 👀✨️
This is why we shouldn't take cult members seriously.
I remember when sexual dimorphism was settled science, not a faith-based ideology.
Disgust. Not fear.
I have been called a transphobe for having romantic interest in someone who was trans. So, all this tracks.
The amount of karens on the internet is fascinating
Quite frighting
Have you ever actually hear what Matt Walsh has to say? I do not agree with everything he is preaching, but about 70% of what he is saying is just common sense. And he is not acting like an entitled kid screeching at everyone when someone is not agreeing with him. Same with Ben Shapiro - do not agree with some of his positions. But have more respect for him than for 90% of leftoids.
people really need to stop caring about what random people on the internet think,
there will ALWAYS be someone out there that disagrees with you on something you care about, if in 100 or so years being trans is 100% normal, you'll just have something else to get offended about.
stop caring about this shit if you care about your own sanity
If you want to see a person true nature you need to put them under pressure, she didn't say that she hates man out of mistake, that is what she actually thinks.
Twitter: **breathes**
Everyone: How many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man
If being transphobic is wrong than I don't want to be right.
To me, I always refer to Baka Test scene with the 3 bathrooms.
Male, Female and Hideyoshi.
If you have one for all the Hideyoshi's in the world, the problem will be solved easily.
You can do literally anything and be defined as a transphobe.
Let alone discuss any of the issues around trans people, which are very sensitive and deserve much greater nuance than the baised people give it.
I was labled a "narcissistic transphobic piece of shit" or something for saying that people should be able to live in a way that is comfortable to them, and to not let lables define them.
Afiak that was LGBT's motto until like 2015, but now they're just rainbow facist nazis.

They hated Matt Walsh because he told the truth.
love how they cant see the irony in demanding a non native speaker to speak english, like, just drop the "how dare you racist" card on them and watch the world burn as they try to comprehend.
He didn't act like a child, he stood is ground, what should always be done in the face of the Twitter denizens. He did nothing wrong and they just jumped on his tweet, that is what is childish.
Why does everyone have to know other people's stance on trans people and why is it even something you can get cancelled for in the first place? If someone doesn't see trans women/men as real women/men they are entitled to their opinion. As long as you don't go out of your way to hurt them, bully them or try to take away their human rights it is a completely valid opinion. Those people need to stop trying to tell others what to think because that is literally what natzi used to do....
As a woman, it baffles me, infuriates me and saddens me how people cannot give a proper definition of what a woman is. What are we? All of what we fought for throughout history is slowly being erased, we're nothing now, we don't even have a definition anymore
What your mothers fought for is being erased by your sisters
Isn't that what the whole point is? To NOT put a singular definition on an experience that is so wildly different for so many people across time and cultures. The same way we can't define what a man is, a woman is just someone who refers to themselves as women and truly believe it. That's the closest we can get without really excluding anyone. Cis or trans, gay or straight, black or white.
@@GwyndOwObut what is it though? How can you refer to yourself and believe that you are something you can't even define? Words have meaning, they have a definition, and a proper one at that. If they don't have any meaning of definition, why is it a word in the first place?
So I ask you again, what is a woman?
@@stupidron7108 being a woman is just that. Womanhood. Woman does not mean female adult. That's just biological. Women are such a wide category that you simply cannot give a definition to them, like men. We have muscular, masculine, feminine, fat, conservative, liberal women, whatever have you. And keep in mind the "definition of women", in every culture where it has been strictly stated, has been an unforgiving culture for cis men and women alike, and certainly for trans men and women as well. Also the whole, " how can you call yourself something you can't define" is such a silly argument. Thousands of years people knew that they were humans, but we couldn't define it. Now we know humans are a species, but that doesn't make us anymore human then those past. Like for example, I can't define for you what it means to be a person, but I can define, human. I can't define man or woman, I can define male, female, and intersex. Things with... You know... Concrete actual definitions
Simply put, the definition of a man is someone born with XY chromosomes, whereas a woman has XX chromosomes. No need to move the goalpost anywhere else
I agree with Ito and Matt, the Trans Community doesn't seem to know what a Woman is. They also want to create so many damned "Genders" and special ways to deal with them that I'm surprised the Trans Community can get anything straight.
Matt Walsh is asking "How can you identify as something you can't define?"
People really out here trying to make opinions on stuff written in a language they cant even read, smh
I'm gonna say it: the concept of gender being eliminated never sat right with me- and I'm genderfluid. For many people it doesn't matter, but for the great majority it is another part of their identities as important as their names or where they come from. Deleting gender so there's no transphobia or confusion is... dumb. It's ok to say man and woman; male and female. It's also ok to say either when you're speaking about certain experiences. It's not an obligation to make everything neutral, you can just refer to the majority of a group when speaking and that's alright!
I know this isn't the focus point of the video, but it's still a thing that's being discussed.
If only more people felt like yourself. I don't think any amount of reading or education will make me think of the phenomenon of trans people as somehow not unusual. I genuinely have nothing against them as individuals, even if I may never fully understand their reasoning. I will always be supportive of peoples' right to express themselves however they choose.
But for one, the concept of 'deadnaming' seems terribly sad to me, as though a person is trying to reject or deny part of what makes them who they are, instead of simply accepting it, integrating it as part of their identity, and moving on from it. And no amount of mental gymnastics will lead to me feeling that there is no distinction between transmen/women and biological males/females. No matter what gender reassignment surgeries or hormones are taken, what voice training they may do to sound more convincingly masculine/feminine, and even how attractive they might appear to the opposite sex. A trans woman, for example, will never be able to conceive and give birth, no matter how much they may wish otherwise.
I sympathise with their desire to be seen as indistinct from those born as a certain gender but I also feel it's impossible. Their bodies and brains are structurally different, their lived experiences are different. We only have to look to the performance and controversies around trans athletes to see evidence of this. It is difficult because to some, maybe even many, trans people, this would make me 'transphobic' even though I bear no ill will. I value peoples' subjective realities but not to the extent I feel comfortable denying the objective one. That's the line I draw.
@GeldUndKokaine Then you're closed minded and wilfully ign orant. Read it and stop being so pridefully ignorant.
Agreed. I am asexual. I do not expect the vast majority of people to know what that is, or live their lives like sex doesn't matter to them like it doesn't to me. It is important to the majority of people. I am the outlier. The same as we shouldn't change textbooks that say humans have 2 arms. The vast majority do have 2 arms. It's good to understand not everyone is the same. It's bad to force the entire world to change in every way to be like me. It wouldn't be fair for me to demand people who like sex to be in a relationship with me. Yet I see trans people demand people who aren't attracted to them date them. It's a small group of course, most trans people are chill. But it's insane how much Twitter and tick tock are obsessed over changing language (like spanish) and the entire world completely to make it fit trans people and be worse for everyone else. We should all try to make everyone's life better and not take others rights away to do it as much as possible.
Gender fluid? You mean the actual old term "gender nonconforming" which means you're a bi/lesbian/straight woman who acts manly or a bi/lesbian/straight man who acts effeminately?
