That's a great use of this space! 2 suggestions to make this scene more fun and aligned with the tone of the city: have someone stuck in this pile, and have one angled container on the top to show one that is falling (maybe on the left where you have more space)
Love the interior detail of the containers. Reminds me of the Thunderbird 2 vehicle which used to carry a sort of container with another vehicle inside. Great vid, as always..
This facade looks great, I actually like your use of facades around the city. I appreciate your use of Duplo pieces. I've several small children in my family that I buy Duplo for and I want them to see they can still be useful even when they move on to more complex builds with standard Lego pieces. I know you must already have the rest of the facades planned out, but I feel like there should be a pub included. The longshoremen/dock workers need a place for a quick pop-in before they head home. Thank you very much for sharing.
With all the hot tea ☕️ techniques you had to use in this video you should consider creating a Robin Hood tea company or something to compete with that duplo coffee
The build is amazing! The detail and color variety is superb. I might be saying something sacrilegious here, but I feel the fort takes away form the entire shipping vibe. I love the port you built, but I feel the fort might have run its course in the city. I know you won't change it as you love it. Back to the build, the containers stack is superb. Well done.
@@RobinHoodBricks Haha, when you finally get to phase two of the city, could be something to look into doing, though I suspect phase two is still quite a few months away at a minimum for how much empty space there still is!
This isn’t what I imagined when you’ve mentioned the container wall in the past. Its surpassed my expectations in a great way. It looks great in place, possibly slightly distracts from the fortress, yet then again some old fortress’s are found by ports… Maybe add some minifigures or workers in there, to add some more depth.
That's such a great idea and implementation! I'm going to work on my industrial zone facades soon, and erhm ... I might borrow this idea with the shipping containers. Brilliant!
I really like the variety of the cargos! It’s limitless on what you can add to it later on and it serves as a nice background to the pier. Well done as usual 😊👍
Very nice. I think the anchor coming down from the air ship near the containers is a happy accident that looks like they could potentially hook one. I think the colors were a good choice and have nice contrast with each other with the stickers adding nice bits of detail. The sky blue and the tank one next to it pop super well . One suggestion I can think of is having a longshoreman directing the nearby crane, perhaps from the top of the turquise container. That would further tie the container stack in with the surrounding builds. I think the opening doors on the turquise container could be taken advantage of by having one partially open with someone or something poking out, or even just the tiniest amount ajar, maybe with the grey handle thing turned a bit like it hadn't been turned into proper place to lock the door. Alternatively it could be paired with a boat or something beneath it for a small smuggling scene. Probably with something funny like donuts being taken. For a skewed container one might fit in the gap at the highest level. If it is turned vertically so its tipping it could create a neat thing for figures to be reacting to. Maybe with a hinge type piece hidden on the far side to hold it at an angle. Otherwise one built at an angle horizontally could work well if the stud ratios line up right to get a good snugness to the wall. For something with more height maybe clear bricks could be used to mount the very tip of another crane to look like its poking out of the white space on the wall. Not sure how stable it would be but it could be hooked to or be in the process of being hooked to the coffee crate. Or maybe its hooked to the crate but some string cable is just dangling over the side of the containers like it had snapped with just the bit of crane above. Either could make for good scene dressing for figures to interact with. If it wouldn't be such a pain to do and would loose a good container, the grey one looks like it could be removed to create a tunnel type passageway that may serve as a dubious access point to the fortress. ;p For a small docks type scene, a figure could have grey studs or something on their feet like they were given cement shoes. It would be a bit dark though without having it on a figure that looks like they could just breathe underwater or not be inconvenienced or a hero nearby to rescue them. Aquaman could work well in either spot and could then introduce some flying fish or other aquatic life involved with the rescue.
Looks great, but I have one suggestion. Swap the regular blue and purple containers. I think it would make the blue one look better because it would be farther away from the blue water, and it would make the back corner pop more
Just bought the big blue container hull on bricklink last week and am excited to build some containers for it! Also, just wanted to say how much I appreciate the effort you take to put the set numbers and pictures of the pieces you use in your build. I always have bricklink open on standby while watching your videos because I’m always adding stuff from you!
A potential idea would to have one of Dr Infernos cargo crate delivered to the wrong warf… maybe the workers open it and something could goes wrong. You could also add a harmless one to Dr Infernos warehouse, and was mixed up with his cargo.
Seeing the quality job the long shore men are doing I am surprised none of the containers are not upside down. Or a poorly stacked barrels and crates on top of the containers.
Great job on the containers. Not sure I'd have them behind the fort though, the fort is its own masterpiece and doesn't really go with the containers behind. For me I would give the fort the corner and start the containers further over to the left of it
Brilliant those graffiti stickers were used in my funfair stage wagon. I'm thinking more height simply because anything is unreasonably possible in brick Nottingham.
Love it! Doubling up on the packed and stacked meanings! Think the fort could do with a couple studs of breathing space... but at what cost! Can't wait to see more in the port!
With the coffee just being there easily able to get stolen you’d think that some baddie would take the opportunity it’s almost a lifetime supply with just one block (or possibly more if you add a brick layer on top of the piece) also the idea of having a container splashing into the water would be neat and could blend the plates too for a ripple effect of the water
Wow……what a wonderful idea. I think I’ll be adding a container area to my city as well. I’ve always hated the blank wall space behind my port area…….Thank you Robin🎉
I Love this idea and it really makes this corner shine. I would only suggest to move the two cranes, the Ports and the ships into the corner ( one turned by 45 degrees ) and move the fort towards the lighthouse. I think that would fit better(?)! This way you could also put a Graffiti-artist on the Containers ( and you would be able to See it??) :)
The 6X10 containers are actually realistic, maybe not that only theyre the only size, but irl containers are in 40ft 30ft and 20ft lengths and this would likely translate to a 15ft container, it still is close enough to be a 20ft container
I love the new container stacks! I am not loving how they are so all up in el dorado fortress though. What if you were to switch the fortress with dr inferno’s warehouse? The warehouse would look quite seamless next to them, plus the fortress and the other little pirates tower you built on the other side of the bridge could flank both sides of the bridge. This would make them feel more attached?
That looks great. something I was thinking as to a fun sceen would be to have the SSP having a cantainer on the 5th level that they use to spy on the badguy hideout on the other side of the castle. You could have it stick out a little to far and say SSP or maybe have an agent falling out the end door while he was spying. As always thanks for sharing this great build.
I think the container stack looks amazing, but having said that, it's placement seems odd to me. I love the use of the old fortress, but now it looks kind of lost in the corner with all the containers smooshed in behind it.

I imagined the cargo being closer to the cranes as the boats can still get into the harbour via the standing hole by the door.
In surprised by the final positioning. A fair bit of it, like the graffiti, with the fortress position. I wonder if there should be a story told here? Maybe you have some burglars abseiling down the side of the containers to get into one they have particular interest in?
Where is the cargo container of stowaways. Maybe a container of Aliens have found a way to infiltrate Brick Nottingham. Could have a couple of containers around the harbour and in transit with an alien logo.

Robin, the containers look awesome! It makes the area look a billion times better.
Yay, thank you for that!
This is an awesome build! We use it on model railways too (call it building flats or low relief buildings)

The anchor for the zeplin is not far off being caught on some cargo. Maybe that what's holding it in place.
It was to cause mayhem and maybe it will!
Cool idea doing this as a facade. The placement directly behind the fort seems weird, though.
It may be less weird when the rest of the wall is filled. We'll see!
I like the jumbled look of the cargo containers. It may not be very convenient in real life, but it's very eye catching in Lego
Yeah. Neat columns would be very boring in the city!
Great work! I keep imagining one of the doors cracked open on the turquoise container and rubber duckies pouring out into the harbor.

Looks great, think on the coffee one, add green 1 by attached under the top plate to hide duplo studs
Do they need to be hidden? Maybe they are lids!
For how big that MOC was, once you placed it in, it really showed how big your city is because it looks so tiny! Great idea for a build!!!
That is so true. I was surprised how small the Mall looks given how big it was on my desk and in LDD. Maybe I should've gone three storeys!
