    I really like that you show the progression from sharp to less sharp. Other videos I've seen show "sharp after sharpening and stropping" or really dull. I applaud your recognition of the need for this video. Thank you👏

    Great video David!! A really good visual check of sharpness. And I only thought my knives were sharp. Need to hit the strop tomorrow 😄.

    Very true I always shaved hair off my arm I also look down on edge if I see light reflecting of it I know it needs back on sharpener stone then a strop 👍🇬🇧🐾🦊

    Thanks for the content. Really enjoying your videos. As I’m new to whittling, is your timber anything special? Is it prepared in any way? Context: I’ve just been out at parks with my kids and using fallen branches etc and just using my leatherman.

      I use basswood that is specifically for carving. You can, of course use found wood, but the predictability of using precut sizes and wood that is intended for carving is much easier. I do have a video on wood as well if your interested.
