Thank you so much for the information! Shiba Inus are my favorite dog breed. I plan on getting one once I get a place of my own and once I’m successful enough. I think I’m ready to really have a pet and companion after so many years of not wanting to own a dog because of their short life. Yes it’s really sad, I really wish dogs can live a lot longer like humans, but all must come to an end sadly. I’ve lost all 5 of my German shepherds to old age long time ago as a child, and now being an adult I think I’m ready to once again be a proud dog parent, but this time I choose Shiba Inu. 🥰

You have such excellent tips!! My Ozzy at 14 years old is only 24 pounds...it's great as stubborn as he is I can lift him is his harness...lol 😀! Quick tip on the trash trucks...our recycling truck drivers throw milk bones to Ozzy! He loves trash day! If it's not recycling week I give him duck jerky (his favorite)!! When he was a puppy he loved baby carrots ❤! I've been around dogs all my life and this dog has not only out lived all previous dogs but for the last 11 years without my husband he's been my best friend and an awesome guard dog for me!!
I will probably(like 90% probably) be getting a shiba puppy soon, when you say 4-5 walks a day, about how long do they have to be? I don't have much time to do 5 one hour walks... but this will be my first dog and I am determined to make them happy and trained. ò-ó btw Jimmy is the cutest dog ever, and your videos teach me a lot!
Hi for puppy each walk shouldn't take too long. a 10 minutes walk for potty should be good but will will simply need to take puppy out more frequent initially. As your dog mature you can reduce the frequency but increase the time for each walks. For Jimmy now fully grown, we walk him twice a day and each walk is about 20-30 minutes depends on his mood. Wait it out lol. Unfortunately there is not much you can do when Shiba Inu decides to stop walkig. Other than wait it out you can also pick up a rock or a leaf to pretend they are super fun to lure him walk.
How much does Jimmy weigh? I have a 2 year old female that weights 37 lbs. I had her DNA tested and she's 100% Shibu Inu but she seems to be on the larger size.

Jimmy is around 33 pounds. Wow female 37 pounds is definitely a big girl. Their size do varies although all are Shibas.
