Tunisia motorcycle trip - Complete itinerary up to the Sahara

- This trip was neither planned nor organised, I made the decision to leave two weeks early, even though I had been thinking about it for a few months.
I've never traveled on a motorcycle, even if I've always driven, I've always left with a backpack and all adventure. At most I have rented cars, motorbikes, but always for short distances.
The idea came to me during the three months of travel in Brazil, where at every move I was always conditioned by: bus timetables, inconvenient departure points or by the rules of whoever gave you a lift.
One day, as I was crossing the Amazon River, I met two motorcycle adventurers, a boy and a girl, both traveling on their own, even though they were sharing the same ride at the time. Well, friendship with these guys lit a flame inside me, which I suddenly had to release to vent.
So that in December I started thinking about Morocco, the splendid dunes of the Sahara.
But this desert is immense, so I started seeing all the countries that were covered by it and after a series of searches, I arrived at Tunisia.
I must admit that I underestimated the beauty of Tunisia so much, in fact when I saw how many wonders it has, I was ashamed of myself for having given little value to this country.
Tunisia seemed to me a great way to start without overdoing it, with destinations that have nothing to envy to neighboring countries and it's also the closest. I also have some friends there for some good advice.
So I buy the ticket a week before, knowing that I don't have the right motorbike or the equipment or clothing to travel on two wheels.
But I've had some thoughts:
- Even if the bike isn't suitable, it doesn't matter, I know the limits of my bike, just don't go beyond its capabilities. And in any case, Alexander the Great arrived in India on horseback, the Mongols arrived in Europe on horseback, do you want to see that my motorcycle, which has 58 horsepower under the saddle, cannot reach the Sahara Desert?!
- As for the equipment, a friend of mine gave me two panniers, good time to use them. Although I would have liked some time to assemble two frames to support them. But I was in the Christmas festivities, so everything was postponed until after the epiphany, right on the day of my departure. However I had a small kit for small problems.
- Maybe the clothes were the thing I should have bought right away, in fact I regretted it from the first day as anyone who watches the video will see. But I thought (wrongly) that buying €500 worth of clothes just for one trip could have been avoided. After all, what does it really take to go on a motorcycle trip? The motorbike! 😃
If you always think about what you need to travel, you will never leave. Good vision.

Ti faccio i complimenti, la premessa che hai fatto sembrava scenografica ma si vede chiaramente che sei partito veramente allo sbaraglio, ma la cosa entusiasmante che non conosci un caxxo di lingua e non hai idea di dove sei passato lo dico perché conosco un po' la Tunisia. Ti stimo molto sei stato un grande però non vorrei che passasse il messaggio che si puo' veramente viaggiare cosi specie in solitaria ed avere la stessa tua fortuna.... Complimenti in ogni caso
