So the tour in Orlando was pretty cool. The tour took over an hour and you were allowed to feed several times. We met Katina, Nalani and Malia. The trainers were amazing. We were allowed to choose signals we wanted to give and play with the whales. I liked this tour more than the tour in Marineland.

Katina will be forever my queen
I saw the Orca Encounter in 2018 at SeaWorld Orlando for my birthday. I love seeing the whales and I hope to return to SeaWorld one day before I leave for Texas. And what is more is that I want to get up close with one of the whales. They are such magnificant creatures and one of God's most intelligent creations.

Just an INFP-T Person It’s not disgusting. There’s only 3 wild caught orcas at Seaworld. Corky (56), Katina (43), and Ulises (42). All doing good, and Katina and Ulises with calves of their own. Corky doesn’t have any relatives in captivity, although shes an amazing adoptive mom to calves. None were caught by Seaworld.

Jeez she says it’s “ normal” for her teeth 🦷 to have holes 🕳 “ drilled” into 🐳 them. They grind their teeth down on the pool sides due to stress and boredom.
It's a bit of both actually. They wear down their teeth on the concrete and it gets worn and has to be drilled and flushed. Not excusing it just explaining it.

She straight up lied. They drill holes in their teeth its, not natural wear and tear! Why not just tell the truth. And she didn't exactly explain the marks were from the other whales teeth either. Every time we've been to Seaworld they were brutally honest about things so I dont understand this.
whoever was honest with you at seaworld probably got fired. they routinely lie about easily googleable animal ecology information as policy. the trainer had convenient "its not that bad!" to the guests pointed questions about their teeth and body conditions. this is the norm for these parks

i'm looking for help..... to find a video with paul horn playing his flute while sitting on the edge of a pool. an orca is listening to his music and a sort of communication developed.... paul playing, the orca responding with typical noise, like an exchange of sounds, than paul very gently touching the orca with a seagull feather and the orca reacts like a cat would do, very much enjoying the gentle touch..... i love this video but can't find it now, checked many of pauls videos but no luck so far. can someone help?

That’s was 2 days before I went! I went to Dine with Shamu with Trua and Makio and I got to pet the Beluga Whales!
Poor beluga's, being touched even if they don't want to be petted, only because they starve you for food that is horrible.
They get plenty of food actually. The animals are well taken care of. They get to do what ever they want. They don't make them do shows if they don't want to.

I hate that whistle, it hurts their ears so they behave so the whistle won’t be blown anymore. That’s why it’s so high pitched :((

That makes no sense. They blow the whistle when they DO the trick correctly. Similar to using a clicker for training a bird. You do it when they’ve done something correctly to show they will now be rewarded. Its no more higher pitched then the whistles they make to communicate.

They do! But you have to check on their homepage if they do it during corona..

Sure, after you were kidnapped from your family in the wild(world's most BONDING animal), and put in a tiny space with complete strangers that you must preform with for food(because they will starve you) you don't even like. Wow. I'd be as happy as can be. >:(
Nalani, Makio, Trua, and Malia were born in SeaWorld. The only wild whale there is Katina who was captured in 1977 and have not captured a whale or dolphin for 43 years
They are not happy, you can see it in their behavior. And being born in captivity isn't a good thing btw
@Matthew Lawrence Actually, SeaWorld admitted that they captured Shamu's mother from the wild. Shamu was raised there and the mother was there longer. So.... they pretty much kidnapped her.

I’m assuming nobody here has seen Blackfish. They are cruel to these beautiful creatures, they have to behave and perform or they do not get fed. 😭
Blackfish is all propaganda and lies. SeaWorld does not starve its animals, most are actually overweight. They use positive reinforcement, not negative because negative reinforcement doesnt work anyways.

I earn no money from going to SeaWorld, nor am i selfish. Quite the opposite actually.
Im the one that pays to go to SeaWorld (just as i am considering buying you a new phone so you can fix your caps-lock and question mark buttons) and get nothing physical out of it. I dont think selfish is the right word either because by supporting SeaWorld i am supporting the organization that as of the last time i went there has rescued 36,562 marine animals, as well as one of the greatest and most accredited zoological facilities in the world.
As for being in there a situation, I wouldn’t really mind at all. Firstly, how could they mind if they have never seen anything outside of SeaWorld? Out of all the Orcas at SeaWorlds parks, only 3 were ever wild.
Katina at SeaWorld Orlando: 44 years old; captured at 3
Ulises at SeaWorld San Diego: 41 years old; captured at 2
And Corky, also at San Diego: 56 years old; captured at about 5.
May i point out none i listed were captured by SeaWorld? All were captured by another Marine Park which sold them to SeaWorld.
Saying they dont get food if they dont perform is just a lie. The food they get from shows are not their main feeding time. It also is not enough to sustain them anyways. The shows are not feeding times, but exercise sessions. Are they entertaining to watch? Yes. But thats not the point of them.
Lets get into how the Killer Whales are trained.
Basically, the trainer gives the hand signal, and the whale does the trick. The whale comes back to the trainer and is rewarded.
If the whale does not do the trick correctly, that does not mean food withdrawal. All the trainer does is ask it to do either the same trick again or a different one and rewards it for that.
Its all based on positive reinforcement, not negative.

The holes in the teeth are not normal and they live to be 60 to 100 in the wild not 20. Wow!! How uneducated the trainers are. They chew on the cement in the pool and that contributes to the holes in the teeth

So I mean
They live for 100+ years in wild and 20+30 years in captivity and i hope they have more fish before they upset her because if she does do what they want she doesn’t get to eat which proved wrong for dawn with Tilikum. Which isn’t dawn fault because Tilly as abused and deprived from food and why bullied none stop so he was always on edge. he should have been let go. He was stolen from the wild away from his mother and sat in a small concrete pool which should be called a chamber not a pool because it wasn’t even that and he was not there for recuse. Also they have a different language for each family and this is in the family yes maybe that’s her children so they understand her but the ones that aren’t family don’t understand each other because they all have a very Individual language for each pod they use in the wild so when you put a orcas that aren’t family together they can’t talk to each other which means they’re being deprived of their social relationships. Fuck sea world free the animals and especially the orcas. Telecom in the died in captivity he never got to leave when he should have been so stop going to sea world so that those animals can be set free which even if we stop going I’m sure they’ll just sell they can to other people which means all the animals will be so not go in the wild because they’re too selfish to think that those animals ever would deserve to be in a ocean instead of a pool. Tilly has killed three people. And in the wild there’s only been one case of a killer whale hurting a human. He killed because he was frustrated and probably in his psychosis from being isolated and yeah probably for his safety because the others weren’t his family so they were abusing him so he spent time in isolation he was food deprived and that probably put him in psychosis because he was so frustrated and so just unhappy and sad. After dawns death he was left in a jail you could say and never really got any attention except for at the end of the show to make a bow.

Max is 13 years? Ulises is 44, Katina is 46, and Corky is 57. Orkid, the oldest captive born orca, is 33.
