Can you believe that every member had to record their audio and video at home. The production on these quarantine videos from HF is insane.
I love the way they did Quarantine. Very clever with that video.
I love how Adam became a set of human castanets, kept the beat and had waves cresting. 🥰
A day without listening to Home Free just isnt right.
This masterpiece was made during quarantine.
Three words for a presentation with mutiple songs: Medley = multiple songs strung together, Mash-up = multiple songs sung over top of each other, Remix = multiple songs with words from one worked into another. As opposed to Melody = One song or the main tune for a song.
The Sea Shanty dance on TikTok features the first part of the audio in the over 370 thousand versions which is Adam Chance's voice. Chance's part of this song has been heard over 1 billion times on TikTok.
Thanks Callie! I knew Home Free’s sound went viral on Tiktok, but didn’t know what the numbers were.
Home Free does this as their encore at their live shows, if you think this is epic, seeing it live is freaking amazing, you definitely can't sit still!!! Another awesome reaction to our HF guys. 🍟❤️
How good are these guys? The fun & energy in this is infectious. This was done during quarantine so none of the guys were even together. The editing of this was great & was done in the Tik Tok style. Love all the guys parts, with Tim's rumbling bass underlying it all. And Adam's beatboxing is phenomenal as always including sea swells & castanets. Amazing how he increased the tempo from one song to another.
Did you hear the flare of castanets in Santiana? Adam Rupp is freaking nature. We never know how he made that sound.
There is a story here too. Chance brought this to the other guys and they were rather lukewarm to it, but he pushed for it. They finally did it, and now, it's their most popular video on RUclips with almost 29 million views. Just in ad revenue alone, this made them each a lot of loot, and it was all because of Chance !!
A great idea from Chance who likes a lot of those Sea shanty songs and in my opinion really has the voice and appearance for them. It is made in quarantine period. Besides each having their great part in this medley, I really love the beatboxing with castanets sound! It was done in the TikTok style, which is why I regularly see / hear come by at the TikTok videos
I have a few Clipper glasses.
Never knew I liked sea shanties till I heard the guys do this. 😆 Thanks Spencer and Daniel - thoroughly enjoying your Home Free journey. 🍟
So much fun! They did this during Covid so they weren’t even together. Chance, the first singer, was a fan of shanties on TikTok so he brought the idea to the boys. They did it in the TikTok style too. If you love bass, try Brothers in Arms, I Can’t Outrun You, Hillbilly Bone. If you love silly you’d love Brother, Butts Medley, Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. So many fun and goofy songs. Have a good day! 😍
There's a longer version on the album Sounds Of Lockdown. But I prefer this one. You have so many to watch and I'm here for it xx
Love how they concluded the medley by listing off the songs with the last chorus incorporating them as the conclusion. They are so detailed with every aspect of the performance from their apparel to small intricate details with their actions they don't miss a beat with every nuance. Their interpretations musically emphasises their strengths providing the best clarity and artistic value. They evoke emotionally through their performances at a very intense level that draws you in. Furthermore they can replicate this live with no dropoff. ❣
My favorite part of this is Adam doing castanets. Really? Really? He amazes me every time. I don't think they've done any Irish things. But Austin did Danny Boy. The video is on his channel. Happy listening!
Adam’s castanets is THE BEST PART of this piece. 💃🏻
Home Free brought your video into my recommended, but your MD flag brought me into your video. 💛🖤🤍❤ Great reaction! I agree that this medley wasn't long enough. I would happily listen to an entire album of full-length sea shanties from them.
Who doesn't like a good ole pirate sea shanty.
Love that last song when it sounded like Adam playing the castanets … it was amazing! Loved the harmonies and Adams beatboxing! Great reaction 🎉 I love Home Free😊
This was so awesome! There is nothing they can't do! Love your reaction!
This was just genius! 👍😁 Chance was in his element here! Loved this medley...so catchy and fun!
You can just tell that Austin (orange bandana and red shirt) was absolutely fuming he didn’t get the Jack Sparrow costume that Tim is wearing 😂
This is one of the videos they recorded separately during the Covid lockdowns. Others include: "When A Man Loves A Woman", "Diamond Dreams", "Meet in the Middle", "Down to the Honkytonk" and "Moonshine". A collaboration with Peter Hollens on his channel "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" - Keep on falling down that rabbit hole - you've still got a long fall ahead!
P.S. - The beatboxer (Adam Rupp) threw in something new - castanets!
Adam's castanets are killer! Great reaction boys❤❤
Brilliant 👌🏽
🤠☠️🤠
Loving your reactions to our favorite group of guys.
Hi guys i found your channel when you reacted to Miriam Margolyes but i subbed for Home Free . Much love from Denmark
Miriam is something else!! Haha She never fails to crack me up! 😂
@@leslieoneal4464 I just love her 🥰😜
Just discovered your channel and I'm really loving your Home Free reactions! To add to the suggestions, try their Christmas songs. I saw that you've already done one of the classics they covered, but also check out "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer" and "Full of Cheer," but don't miss "Children Go Where I Send Thee" WITH Kenny Rogers! Their songs done during quarantine are great, especially "Quarantine" and "Never Gonna Give You Up." Seriously, you won't mind being Rickrolled. A couple more of my favorites: "Honey I'm Good" (a Groundhog Day sendup), "Brother," and "Everybody Walkin' This Land." Can you tell I'm a Home Fry? :D Can't wait to see more reactions!
They just never miss
The Fisherman's Friends are a group of fishermen that have been releasing albums of these songs for years
You guys are lots of fun.
I really enjoy watching and listening to you two. Especially with Home Free videos. My absolute favorite group. You need to react to Dreamer. They do it once with just them and another time with Texas Hill. Keep up the good work.
If you like sea shanties definitely check out Fisherman's Friends & The Longest Johns, also The Young'Uns (they don't just do shanties). Shanties were working songs that's why they tend to be repetitive and so easy to pick up and join in with. I ❤️ folk music 🎻
Absolutely great!! Ireally enjoy these!
I second your motion that they do a medley of traditional Irish songs. I was imagining that even before I saw the sea shanty medley.
Loved this one Home Free did this during quarantine
Such creativity during quarantine 🎶❤️👏
this one is amazing did you hear the castanets? All done with voice ❤🏴
Most Pirates came from the south west of England. The stereo typical pirate accent is in fact the accent of people born in Devon, Cornwall, or Bristol.
Trying to remember back from the 70s UK folk music era, there was somebody who split the audience into male and female halves. Then he had all the men sing the verses and all the women sing the chorus, "Weigh, Hey and up She Rises". The women did get rather over enthusiastic. Does anyone remember who did this?
Give a listen to AUSTIN BROWN (red shirt) singing a very short DANNY BOY on his channel. Beautiful.
You have to watch Hi Ren - left speechless by it
Why do so many people think "sea shanty" automatically means pirates? There were sailors back then, too, you know.😀
I would love to hear them do Fields of Athenry. It's such a beautiful, yet sorrowful song ☘
Outstanding, or Upstanding like Spencer chest hair!
Tim was standing in his front yard in his Jack Sparrow costume while he recorded this. wouldn’t you have loved to be one of his neighbors?!
Assasins creed black flag has the best sound track / shanties period, well worth a listen in your own time guys you can find it here on RUclips.
There is an extended version of this that they have also put out
Should def look at The Longest Johns videos, pretty much any of them but Moby Duck, Icy Acres, Wayfaring Stranger, Bones In The Ocean (& their version of Drunken Sailor)
Traditional British folk music. Check out Nathan Evans.
I personally love the wellerman song he does..
If you guys like this, you'll enjoy Port Isaac's Fisherman's Friends. They're so good, a movie was made about them.
Austin Brown does a beautiful Danny Boy.
shame no Basses deep voice solo, beause that would have been the icing on the cake! But this was Brill!
For the ultimate deep basso profundo, look on RUclips for "We Praise Thee" by Chesnokov. Russian things may not be flavour of the month right now, but this is from a different era and is pretty impressive. You'll need very good headphones or a good hifi with a decent woofer!
You guys really need to check out the great British ukulele orchestra doing pinball wizard as a sea shanty, they also do a great version of teenage dirt bag check them out
Arrrrrrghh
There is a video on RUclips. It's 5am at an Irish wedding...The Rattlin Bog. Its fantastic, check it out.
Army version...
What shall we do with the drunken soldier
Take him to the nearest brothel
What shall he do when he's in that brothel
Hoorah and up he rises...
Gingertails did the best version of wellerman I have heard
All got their testosterone fix and you two bobbing heads was adorable
I live on the east cost of England, and every year we have shanties bands singing on the quay. We also have Viking celebrations where they walk through the streets with a boat and burn it on the beach. We are known as the Angles or Anglo Saxons. Your wrong this is not Irish but Cornwall up to the east coast who traditionally
sailors would sing there shanties.
Am o the only one who noticed that they went from black and white to color and then back to black and white?
You should listen Fisherman's Friends singing these.
Good shout! The Longest Johns would be another good choice for sea shanties
Nobody like Home Free!!
☠❤☠
Austin Brown does a stunning rendition of Danny Boy on his solo you tube channel. You should check it out if you want to hear something Irish 😀
Spencer needs an eye patch lol
It sounds a bit strange to hear our sea shanties sung with American accents, and while the harmonisation was generally good, the bass sounded very gravelly, as though the singer is producing the noise from his throat instead of his diaphram.
you should hear black and white town by doves
