Great material as always. One thing, the Snap Mount loses some functionality when the GoPro is in the media mod. The mount does not provide enough clearance to fold to the back of the GoPro with the media mod is installed.
I purchased the Snapmount system a while ago and want to bring up one issue. I have a Hero 9 Black with the Media Mod Kit. When you have your Hero 9 in the media mod kit, the Snap mount will not really attach properly. I had to buy a mount extension in order for it to attach and then the opening is off on the back when you want to touch the screen. Also, I'm going to thru hike the AT beginning in March 2021 and thought this would work for me but once I received and weighed it, I feel it is too much additional weight to take. John from MI
@@SNAPMounts Thank you! If you want me to do some testing, let me know. Everest 16 times! Thanks! John from MI
I've told literally 10 friends about Snap Mounts and 8 of them bought already! I love mine and have them on almost all my mounts...like a dozen or so I think.
@@SNAPMounts LOL yeah I use them hanggliding, paragliding, Paramotoring, ultralight flying, motorcycle riding, car shots and angles, skydiving, surfing and scuba underwater stuff. Thank you for the video. I dove in deep on the Manfrotto Quick Release systems on all my cameras and gear however this seems pretty sweet for the GoPro's I own. Thanks for sharing Shawn!
@@SNAPMounts yep but last time I shipped something to the UK it still has yet to arrive... we are now at 8 months and counting... thankfully credit card meant I haven’t lost out but I’d rather not do that again
How the SNAP performe with GoPro MMAAAAAXX 360 ?? 🤔 You have it there and didn't mention!!! 😖 placing both the plates at 180º degres wides the snap mount?
Hey? Would this work to keep a go pro mounted to the inside of my rear window since the defroster lines would probably cause the suction cup to lose suction.
I think go pro fell short with the media mod. Takes too much time to take the GoPro out and swap batteries or sd cards. Not sure if this would be secure enough for me or not
Excellent video. Subbed. Yours is better than Snap Mount video. Just received mine. Quick question. The lanyard is making me feel really dumb. Without tying a knot in it behind neck, there is no way I can discern to raise and lowe camera. The sliding button only makes the loop around neck bigger or smaller. Does not raise it up. What am I missing?
I’d like to mount my go pro on a Jeep when we go exploring the forest service roads but do you have any recommendations on how to stabilize it more? And are the connectors for the car easy on and off without damage and the camera don’t fall off even with a lot of shaking? Cause the roads we go down are pretty ruff...
It is very secure. It has a strong, magnetic connection. It should not fall off in those scenarios. It comes with a thin rubber pad to prevent scratching or damage to the vehicle. As for stabilization, I am not sure I would just make sure you have stabilization enabled on your GoPro. You do want a little bit of movement as it will add more excitement and feel to the video.
I’m not too sure about that. The magnets are incredibly strong. I guess the best way is just to test it out. Do some yank tests on it to see how well it holds.
The pattern looks great. But you spent all that time making a patterned end grain board to then go and slap a side grain border on it? Expansion and contraction will tear that apart over time.
Our current mount does not have the ability to lay flush when a casing is utilized. We are about to release a SNAP Media Mod Mount that will allow for fitting in the Media Mod as it will have an extended neck. We will be testing as well with other cases.
What your favorite GoPro so far that you own I have 3 to 8 but the 9 will be coming to me from Santa my favorite GoPro is the 8 so what GoPro is yours and also what's your favorite GoPro accessory ???????
I hate when I am out freediving or spearfishing and using my camera on a headstrap and then get unsure if it's filming or not. Would this be a nice accesory to be able to popp the camera off my head and check it and the popp it back on the strap? If anyone got a solution to this problem please tell me. It's annoying as F.
There are a couple of benefits. The main one being file size. If you were going to record 30 minute hike and you want to condense that down to a 40 second hyperlapse. If you just record it you now have 30 minutes worth of footage which can be cumbersome to store and transfer.
Can we use this Mount if we have a car which is without sunroof. Basically what i want to ask is, can this be used as an alternative to the suction cups that can be mounted to the cars that have sunroof, instead of the suction Mount we can use the magnet to Mount a go pro upside down
Not sure you would be able to have conneciton through the hood of your vehicle, it may be too thick, but you can utilitze via your front window or side window as well.
Hey Shawn, I’ve got this snap mount & the Nu Grip selfi stick. But it doesn’t seem like snap mount is compatible with the Nu Grip. Have you tried the 2 together?
Also curious how it went! Love these videos an considering buying the Nu Grip and also these snap mounts :D also on the head straps to go between them easily.
There is no issue with our magnets and SD Cards. Unlike spinning hard drives and magnetic media of the past, modern SD cards are not impacted by magnetic fields.
@@AirPhotography that is something I'm starting to really appreciate in life generally now a days. kinda related but I've just got a new hiking back pack. Didn't go for a big one with everything on it, just went for a small 8 litre Montane trail blazer and it feels amazing compared to my old one. I think I may end up buying an iPad.
Seems like a good setup, however; I nearly lost my hero 9 using this. The magnets do not hold strongly enough through a tshirt, and when the camera is bumped into, it can be knocked apart from the other magnets, causing the camera to fall and be lost forever. I wouldn’t recommend.
That is super excellent! Might even work with the metal in my head.👍
