When do these salaries price out the fans? Ticket prices, food and drinks, souvenirs, whatever, keep going up.

I agree it wasn't a big deal, but this was still lighter than I thought. It seems like this is building up to the league eliminating the tampering period before next off-season

Actually what Kirk should not have said was that he talked to the head athletic trainer and other people in the organization . Kirk left Monday to drive down to Georgia for a pre-planned family trip and was calling people. I knew this was gonna be a nothing burger. The NFL rule on tampering is about contract negotiations which did not happen in this case.
It was all related to travel / logistical matters, like Kirk talking with the head athletic trainer about continuity in his rehab treatment before he was supposed to which is why the punishment is less. And the other two were talking about travel plans.
Von Miller actively recruited Kirk in 2018 to join the Broncos. It was all over social media and several articles were written about it. The Broncos never got punished…..because players can talk to each other.

Sure, the Vikings aren't paying much for McCarthy but then you are assuming that he is gonna be great and win a bunch of games. If he stinks, then you really haven't gained anything. Besides that, teams that have continuity and stability at quarterback for multiple years, have winning seasons, make the playoffs and get to Super Bowls on a regular basis.
In the last 30+ years, the Vikings have started 28 different quarterbacks. That it isn’t a blueprint for sustained success. It's probably why they haven't been to a Super Bowl for a very long time. Tarkenton was here for 6 years and then left. Makes you wonder if had he stayed, the Vikings would have won a Super Bowl. Same thing goes for Kirk. The last time the Vikings had a quarterback start for more than 5 seasons was….Fran Tarkenton in 1978. That’s pretty bad. It was pretty obvious last season how a lot of teams lost plenty of games because their QB wasn't very good.
And what happens in a few years....McCarthy is good and wants to get paid? Adofo-Mensah will probably get rid of him so he can have a quarterback on a rookie deal.
And how are other teams paying their franchise quarterback 50+ million, paying everyone else and are still competitive? And yet....the Vikings can't seem to figure that out.

This is a thing - Falcons should have paid for Kurt's idiocrasy! Lord knows we have paid more! I'm with Zimmer - never wanted him, glad to see him go! And, most fans would not have thought if the Vikings did it we would want a free pass. Put up a poll, same offence, Viking player, and the 1st poll should Vikings be penalized for tampering 2nd poll what penalty would Goodell give the Vikings. Truth.

@@PurpleInsider Check out Purple FTW and probably Purple Daily (I can't find anything from them but...they have never been fans of Kirk so I highly doubt there would not be a podcast on it), the Daily Norseman and pretty much every comment by a Viking fan on any article or podcast about the subject matter. In fact, Purple FTW is calling Kirk "Kurt" now to be disrespectful. It's quite ridiculous. If a person didn't know anything about the Vikings or Kirk, they'd think he was the worst quarterback the Vikings ever had...smh
