Yet another praise for the movie is that Metroman's weakness was never copper. He didn't have one. However, he saw an opportunity to fake his death, rightly assumed the material of the dome imprisoning him and made a rapid claim (though false): "My weakness is copper". Yeah i realized why tighten escaped from that trap when i saw metroman alive Still it surprises me that megamind actually thought of that in the first place as a backup plan, or maybe he just planned to use it for another time once he escaped jail after their first encounter?
He wouldn't even have "rightly assumed" the dome was lined or made of copper tbh. He'd just look with his eyes, that can see, right through leeeaaaaad, to know what the dome was made of before he said the line.
What’s especially noticeable is how Hal and Metro Man use their powers. Metro was much like superman and was careful not to break anything if he could help it and even added a stylish flare or two. Hal on the other hand cares not for any restraint and rips everything apart just because.
Especially considering that Metro Man is practically infinitely stronger than Hal. Metro Man can take a casual jaunt around the city playing with kites, reading books, having an existential crisis, and get back to where he was fast enough for the camera to barely even register he was gone at all. And for all the power that comes from that speed (and also durability) he's about as gentle as a superhero can be. Hal doesn't have even a fraction of the ability that Metro Man does, and all he uses it for is destruction.
Originally Roxy was going receive the powers for the finale, but they changed their mind on that as they wanted Megamind sitll be the hero of his own story and not be rescued by someone else. The irony is had Megamind just used the power booster on her she'd probably kicked his butt in the way he was missing. She would have happily taken up Metroman's crusade in his absence and let him resume his previous lifestyle while learning nothing.
@@YourFriendlyShapeShifterFriend I agree it probably would been a much weaker ending. It's for the best they cast it aside and went with a different direction.
Tighten is a good villain, because he highlights how an underdog with superpowers could realistically go wrong with them. It would be tempting to use superpowers for one’s own gain which is a flaw that someone with powers can overcome or give in to. Hal cared about having powers for the sake of getting what he wanted, rather than helping others.
I'd abuse superpowers, that being living in the most beautiful parts of the world humanity hasn't screwed up yet. Each day could be a different part of the world, only thing I'd probably steal is food. I really enjoyed that Megamind using the outcome were someone getting powers, not everyone is a good person that follows "with great power comes..." you know the rest
@@alchemistofsteel8099 Yes I think that's why the writers had Uncle Ben's death happen in the first place; precisely because of what OP said, about that temptation being there. But because of his uncle's death, that temptation instead was replaced with the motivation to prevent further crime. Because if he'd stopped the criminal his uncle would be alive.
His "You should stop comparing me to Metroman!" seems like a boast at the time when in reality it's more born out of insecurity than anything as when he thinks he has to fight the real Metroman he freaks out and lose the will to fight immediately. He's kind of like the animated version of Homelander in a way. A super powered bully who abuses his power to do as he pleases and cowers at the thought of picking on someone his own size.
I still prefer: "This town isn't big enough for two supervillains" "You may be a villain alright, but you're not a supervillain" "Oh yeah, what's the difference?" "PRESENTATION!"
Easily one of the best scenes in animation history. Right up there with the sunrising to that African chant in the original Lion King if you ask me. Though the latter is obviously number one, this is in the top ten for sure.
He may be a fool, but he's a nigh indestructible fool fuelled by obsession and blind, petty rage. The more I think about it, I realize that past some of his funny lines, he's a pretty dark villain for a PG film. He's a lustful, obsessive maniac that's willing to brutally murder to get his way. He was fully willing to liquefy Megamind's face, not because Megamind is a bad guy, but for the purely petty and selfish reason that Megamind "stole his girl" when said girl was never his to begin with. I'd hardly be surprised if he had an off screen body count.
Incels have always scared me more than average. Because there have been times that I’ve realized that I have a similarities to them outside their toxic attitudes. Makes me wonder just how close have I gotten to become one of those guys.
Hal was right though she had never tried to get to know him outside of work even to just be a friend Hal lived in a shitty little apartment and was treated like crap his entire life and the first time she bothered to even try to be friendly it was just before he was going to destroy a city. His actions weren't right but they weren't unfounded
@@PlagueRunner Honestly from the scenes they had at the start his casual creepiness is probably why she never tried to be friends with him.I wouldn’t wanna be any closer to someone I didn’t actually like especially when they have an obvious crush on me.
I still remember this scene for the line “this isn’t how you play the game.” Because it just subtly but impactfully shows megaminds actual view of things and how his motives are only for enjoyment, and it’s this fact which is why he can be a hero, because his motives are not evil, it’s just mislead actions that are.
He is playing a role, a role he was forced into since childhood. He is the bad guy. That's what he does. He goes out and does some cartoonish hijinks and Metro Man stops him and sends him back to jail, which was the only home he's ever known ever since he was a baby. That was the play. A play Tighten was not interested in being a part of.
@@ridjenite It's very obvious none but regular citizens were even worried at the kidnapping scene in the beginning of the movie; Metroman was bantering with Megamind instead of trying to escape or save Roxanne and Roxanne clearly didn't think for a moment that she was in any real danger. And when Metroman "died" she was just let go. Because without the superhero to taunt, Megamind had no interest in hurting or even threatening her.
@@Sigart And therein lies the beauty of the film. Megamind was never interested in hurting people, only putting on a show. It's precisely why he tells Tighten that he would never be a supervillain: Hal had no spectacle.
"You don't have to be a gun. You are what you choose to be. You choose." Both Megamind and the Iron Giant are such good movies and share that same message of choosing your own destiny. It doesn't matter your past or what you were "supposed" to be; fundamentally you choose your path in life.
Shrek 3 too The villains also said that it's hard to be a good guy when everyone else expects you to be evil, kind of like shrek also said in the 1st movie when people judged him just for being an ogre
yup, metro man even strigt up says this to megamind "in the endi knew youd have a better life without me." While he didnt hate megamind he realized that fate had put them at odds and Megamind could never move on and be the true hero he was meant to be while Metroman was there, so he removed himself so megamind could ralizise his true potantial. As other have pointed out Metro man was a gentle hero if at any point he fet titan was a real threat he would have stpped in, hell we see him in the crown at the end when the city cebrates megamind so yea he was probably in the city with the titan fight but trusted Megamind
“What’s your name, new hero?” You just saw him destroy everything in his path, INCLUDING cars filled with *living people* in them, and your first reaction was “new hero” after he failed to even catch the bad guy. Really shows how desperate the people were for a new Metroman.
True, but this is the first time Megamind has actually run away. Metro Man would at least capture him. And if he runs away, he is now no longer a lingering "threat" to them.
@@ridjenite yeah, would even dangle him in front of the camera, meaning despite being defeated megamind knows metroman wouldn't harm him after their little game ends
The part where Hal says "this is for stealing my girlfriend!" also shows how entitled he actually is. Roxanne never gave a hint that she liked Hal as more than a friend. But in his head, Hal assumed they were dating because of how "nice" he was to her and even because he has powers now. He can't understand that she doesn't love him. I think that's an interesting contrast to Megamind, who just wanted to be accepted and never expected to get Roxanne in the first place.
I like to think that Metro Man figured Megamind out a long time ago and was only going along with it just because, for a while, it brought some semblance of purpose and enjoyment to the both of them, not just Megamind, and it's because he knew Megamind really wasn't as big a monster and villain that he plays himself up as that Metro Man felt he could risk faking his death so that he could pursue something else that would make him happy. And, along the way more or less force Megamind to realize that, in as much as he loved playing the villain, he's really a much more heroic person than he thinks he is, and up until the point of MM faking his death that, that entire time, it was more of just a game between the two of them.
@@329link it does but its subtle, he says to mengaman he knew he could do it, echoes it at the end while hiding in the crowd, and we know he has the spoeed since he was at the celbration of megamind in the end we can presume he was watching all the fights, but never sptems in because as he says to megasmind "i know you got this"
@@329link nah bruh, anyone over 30 can tell you that if you’ve been in service of others for a long time and not necessarily by choice (as MetroMan states), you burn out. MetroMan’s abandonment of his duties is very relatable. Ask any nurse, teacher, service worker, caretaker, firefighter, etc. Aka jobs that we often refer to as heroes of our society. These are incredibly demanding jobs that are always short staffed for a reason. Self-sacrifice for the greater good is altruistic and all, but failure to draw the right boundaries leads to depression and other mental and often physical health problems. Making selfish choices every now and then is genuinely important to becoming a better person.
@@329link It wasn't exactly selfish, because there was no initial threat at all. Megamind just wanted a rival like metro man but never wanted to put anyone in danger, which was why roxanne wasn't scared at all. The entire city just never knew the escalating rivalry between megamind and metro man, and just regarded him as a hero, when he never was one.
That does make sense too. For me, I feel that most of his realization comes from the scene where he’s using his super speed. He knows that Megamind isn’t dangerous for sure, but he definitely was caught up in the role he was in and the admiration. From a child to an adult, he can be a little smug at times, and he didn’t think much outside of his role for a while until he really reflected on it. It’s not unreasonable that he decides to become Music Man, and luckily, things turn out fine because Megamind is good at heart. Definitely a big jump to just fake his death and scare everyone though, but while his plan is a bit flawed, it gives Megamind a chance to reflect and do the right thing.
Yeah, I think if we replace Homelander with him there'd be almost no difference, except for all the scenes where Homelander gets weird around any quantity of milk for some reason.
@@shiori00 sadly not really due to the power diffance and the whole tighten throwing a skyscraper thing puts his power above homelander also being faster then homelander who had trouble with the wealer queen mave
Describing Hal as just a sad loser reject minimizes how dangerous he truly is. He’s believes he’s nice guy type. He has predatory behavior and he shows small signs in the beginning. Nice guys, underdogs or guys genuinely believe they deserve a reward after checking a few boxes. When faced with rejection or opposition they react with explosive and or violent behavior that’s truly horrifying to see. That’s another layer I felt was down played because there are still people we all know that is like that and it’s adds more
We need a society ruled by chads, jocks, and bros, and subjugating the nerds, dweebs, and dorks. For every Brock Turner there are about ten Elliot Rodgers. Nerds are honestly terrifying. When's the last time a frat boy or football player did a mass shooting? It's always the nerds who do them.
@@ashkitt7719 You mean, like... a reason like the fact that the world _is_ ruled by jocks, bros and chads? Personally, I would prefer a world ruled by normal people who aren't caught up in those kinds of labels.
@@Sigart I think if anything, the world is now ruled by nerds, folks like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. Gamergate, which led to Trump, which led to Charlottesville, which led to J6, that was a campaign by and for nerds. Nerds on 4chan got Trump elected through memetic warfare. Incels are largely nerds, not bros. They hate bros.
I just realized that despite Tighten fighting to kill, for the majority of the fight, he's losing to a guy WHO THINKS IT'S A GAME. Megamind is just goofing off and yet he's keeping up with the most violent and dangerous threat he's ever faced
To be fair, Megamind has fought Metro Man god only knows how many times. He's used to the skill set. Granted, Hal is actually trying to kill Megamind here, whereas Metro Man never was, but I'm sure it's still just another day in the office for Megamind. Meanwhile this is Hal's first proper go at "stopping the bad guy"
@@ScofieldStudios oh. ...so what I said is invalid because they're going to milk the story too ☹️? Or we should wait to see and judge? I don't know 100% what to think about this, but...maybe is the second one? Wait and see and then judge?
It didn't predict it if those things already existed, which they did. Edit: Buddy in the Incredibles is essentially an animated version of the Bjork stalker. "If I can't be with you, I'll try to kill you and everybody around you".
Megamind vs Titan is the perfect example of Chaotic Neutral vs Chaotic Evil. Megamind just wants to have fun, but he doesn't actually *want* to specifically hurt people.* Titan looks forward to sadistically hurting people. *Not that it doesn't happen on accident, mind you
It’s crazy how i watched it as a kid and thought “wow, this movie fucks”. Turns out it wasnt just my easy-to-amuse kid brain, it is genuinely a fantastic flick
The part where Tighten takes Roxanne on a date has to be one of the most chilling and terrifying scenes ever in children's media. I felt it in my GUTS, man.
As a girl, that scene with Roxie backing away to the edge of the tower while tighten just menaces her, camera over his shoulder so you feel how small and helpless she is... yeah, made my palms sweaty.
I like that fact that you pointed out, about their relative experience. Megamind so outclasses Tighten in terms of experience that despite the massive power difference, Megamind can basically pretty easily handle his murderous rampage, at least until he gets thrown off his game. It really goes to show how long Megamind has been playing this Hero vs Villain game.
I like how the scene of Megamind swordfighting Tighten implies that he has done this before with Metroman and had it not before for Tighten sweeping him on his robot legs he would have probably kept up with the swordfight. It's things like these that also cements the relations of Megamind and Metroman aside from the opening scene and Metroman's death.
One of my favorite scenes in this movie is that brief moment where Roxanne looks at megamind in disbelief after he says "granted you have talent" to metroman. I just love how you can clearly see her reaction but then she immediately switches back to being annoyed at metroman for leaving and starts hitting him over the head with stuff
This movie works so God damn well because of the perfect character development. Not a single character misses a beat on their path. It all makes sense, it all flows so well. And it's so much fun to watch and listen to. The dialogue almost always hits, the music feels so on point, the camera shots are fantastic and the action is breath taking. Megamind is, and always will be, one of my favourite movies of all time.
See this really defines and cements that megamind and metroman weren't true enemies at the core, more like playful competitors, As even when him and metroman reunite and megamind tries to get him to help...Metroman talks to him like you would to a brother or old rival. Because thats all they were, rivals pitted against each other by a judgmental society. Titan is angry, deceitful and possessive, he had been since his first scene though his weak demeanor/physique made us unbothered by him. The minute he finds out megamind was the man Roxanne was with, He only sees red, He does not see any true consequences or morality, just anger and resentment.
This movie is honestly very great! The “there is no queen of England” line hits different now. Titan was a great and funny villain and you can’t tell me differently! Ok, bye
I went to see this in 3d in theaters with my dad and it was such a good experience. We still greet each other with ‘ollo to this day. I’m very glad that it has come back in cult popularity.
Yeah, Hal Jordan, the one most people think of when they hear Green Lantern (AKA the one Ryan Reynolds played), and John Stewart, the black Green Lantern that I lovingly remember from Justice League Unlimited. I always loved being one of the few who got that relatively obscure reference.
The fact that the Titan there's no line honestly makes Megamind more of a cult classic and maybe makes it a God in film form and it's probably secretly made by Wizards
@@geox8485 It's like saying "President of Florida". Sure, the people of Florida are ultimately governed by the US President. But it doesn't really make sense to call him the President of Florida, President of California, President of New York, etc.
I loved this line in part because it shows that Megamind is generous, kind, courteous and well-mannered, not what you'd expect from someone raised in a prison. He also expects Tighten to do the same, which reflects how he must have been treated by most people in his life, despite where he grew up. It's also a good sign that he plays by the rules, which indicates someone who has a sense of honor and integrity when it comes to having a code to live his life by. It shows loyalty. All good qualitites.
Titan is very much of an ahead of his time character. 1. He predates the incel movement and increasing awareness of "nice guy" entitlement. 2. He is a Homelander before Homelander: or how terrible superpowers can be when the wrong person has them.
Megamind is a movie about how Predatory men react to power, about how self-grandiose edgy teens react to growing up, about how people react to manipulators, and about how Metromans reacts to copper
Appreciate that you pointed out 10:05! Even though Hal is a dick, I thought it was interesting how for once he actually showed concern for a person other than himself. Wonder what Minion did in his disguise that had such an impression on Hal lmao Random thought: Might be reading too much into things, but maybe this is a subtle jab at how people who act this way usually have a strange relationship with their mother, or lack/desire some kind of nurturing figure (which is why they seek maternal qualities in a partner)? Whether it was intended or not bravo.
@@sangheiliwarrior86 Seriously? Roxanne is literally just some lady how is she morally grey or any worse than minion I can’t think of a thing she’s done that makes her not a decent person.
without being a professional you can probably see as a result of unconditional love of a parent. people who feel entitled to everything around them often have very obliging parents. parents that will either give them whatever they ask for or show them such great love that they can never even really discipline their child. that means these entitled people do in fact have very genuine affection for their parents. of course they do. they have never hurt them and always make them feel better.
@@sangheiliwarrior86 Nah Roxanne Richie is definitely Lawful good. She always does the right thing she never quit trying foil Megamind even when Metroman was gone. She confronts Hal even without any powers because she sees the good in everyone....even when it doesn't exist as Hal himself says.
It's funny, the part where titan picks up the ball of copper and says "stop comparing me to metro man" looks like the pose the metro man museum statue is on, accompanied with him holding the ball(which in the statue is the globe I think)
Metroman also comes out looking like a bit of a grey character as well really. Titan clearly doesn't know he has super speed yet so it would only really take metroman a meer moment to use megamind's extractor to depower Titan and he wouldn't even have had to reveal himself. Titan was clearly a danger that could kill people and certainly did kill many people when he threw that building.
One thing that my nephew and I always have a debate on is pronunciations of words (mostly how to pronounce Hydrocity from Sonic 3) Once Megamind was mispronouncing his words, we got a kick out of it. But once the scene appeared when Megamind disguised himself to be Metro Man and scare off Titan then Titan comes back because Megamind accidentally said "Metrocity" instead of Metro City, I had to pause the film because I was laughing for 3 minutes straight. It was such a genius scene that had me nearly dying from laughter xD
I always like those scenes where the character is going so fast they world slows down, but if you really think about it a bit, that means their perception of time is really "slow", so a simple conversation is actually like an eternity. Unless their power is to control their bodies perception of time, so they can run on normal speed, and then hit the turbo button.
could be more like reactions. if you've ever caught something falling or narrowly dodged a soccer ball to the face or something, you may have experience something similar. I certainly have before. it's like the adrenalin pumps and you're so much more aware and in that moment the world slows down.
@@TGPDrunknHick Compare that to Red Rush from Invincible. The world is constantly in slow motion for him because he's so fast. He even says that mere conversation is excruciating because for his perception, people talk very slowly. I also realized that it creates a small plot hole. Red Rush should be very much faster than Omni-Man and yet Nolan caught him easily. It made much more sense in the comics when Nolan ambushed the entire team and murdered them all in the blink of an eye before any of them realized it.
@@AdderTude true as well. I believe Marvels Quicksilver has a similar thing and that's actually one of the reasons he's a dick. he's so irritable because of his perception. also yeah plot holes are unfortunately a thing when you adapt things. what works on page doesn't always work properly in animation and that can cause story problems. Same for the reverse.
It was just so nice to have peaks into the realistic psychological features about good and evil. That megamind didn’t actually like winning and missed having something to try and accomplish every day. Metroman grew tired and run down from constantly saving the city and felt trapped to the point of escape. Hal was very human and morally corrupt yet endowed with powers he abused when he didn’t get his way. Mega and metro knowing each other from babies and their good/evil dynamic just being how they spent time together and were good friends in the end is so wholesome.
I think a really underrated line is when megamind says "I made you a hero, YOU did the FOOL thing ALL by yourself!" Theres not much to talk about, megamind is not trying to survive the situation by saying this, he is simply reminding hal of his mistake while also answering his accusation of "This is the last time you make a fool out of me!"
what I find funny is how Megamind likely should have been able to realize that it wasn't Metroman's real corpse, since the jaw of the corpse was much smaller than Metroman's jaw
Genius movie, the thought of an angry incel getting superman's powers is scary, and this movie was before online incels gained national media attention, not to mention how genuinly surprising it was for me at least that Hal would become the villain. I'm glad this movie is getting more recognition now, it's so much more creative than most other superhero garbage movies that has been coming out in recent years
I love how this movie is no longer such an undiscovered gem and i would hazard to say no longer underrated. Mainly because of the cult following it's garnered as of late. I'm willing to bet that most the people who came here had already seen the movie, and already were of the opinion of it's greatness in character development and storytelling and just wanted to see how someone else would also contribute to the dialogue. 10/10 breakdown of this scene and one of the movie's themes.
This certainly subverts the Superman trope better than Brightburn and The Boys did. Though I do compare Snotty Kid to Homelander myself, at least Homelander had some control over his emotions, even if it's to subtly make those closest to him suffer on a deep level. Despite Hal's curly hair and muscular double chin, it's his expressions that brilliantly bring across his unbridled fury.
Please do a video on Kung Fu Panda. Doesn’t have to be apart of the scene series, but I’d specifically like you to cover the Tai Lung vs Shifu battle. For me, that is my favourite scene. It’s an incredibly underrated fight. It has amazing choreography, incredible acting, an amazing score, powerful emotional moments and it actually develops the characters and furthers the plot in an extremely effective way.
"ARE YOU PROUD OF ME NOW?!!!" -Tai Lung (while pouncing with his paws on fire)... You just feel the rage and resentment at his mentor/father figure boiling inside. Tai Lung is the character Kylo Ren wishes he was.
I didn't notice this detail until seeing it in this video. The Magazine being held up for comparison doesn't fit Titan. But it fits perfectly with Megamind.
I really wanna know who the heck was the man Megamind used to become the space dad. Like, as far as i'm concerned, he only could use the cubes for the hollograms so. . . Who even was that man?
The watch scans people, he doesn’t need to dehydrate them. You can see this when he escapes prison towards the beginning, he projects the likeness of the warden without needing the gun.
I know this movie needed a limited ammount of characters, but there's like, a milion people in Metrocity that Megamind could've chosen, and he just happens to land on a megalomaniac simp
Titan really reminds me of Wheatley from Portal 2, because basically it shows what happens when you give power to a moron, they get corrupted by it, thinking it's all they need to be good.
Imo, the scene that really flips the movie is actually the 'scene' before this, and I would call it "Roxanne's Date". She's working late, and suddenly realizes that Megamind is working on a project called Titan, only for Titan Hal to show up at her door. You get to see the gears in her head start to turn, and we already know that she knows this won't end well, even before she knows it's Hal. Unfortunately for the meathead, her warning about the danger he's in goes unheard, so she turns to the only other person we've seen in her life, 'Bernard'. Even Megamind was too focused on the girl to listen to her warning (about Hal not being the greatest person) and to be fair she becomes very distracted and fails to explain herself once she finds out who exactly she's been dating. Roxanne becomes the linch-pin to the climax of the film, because at this point she's the only character who has all the pieces, just like the audience, so there's literally no way things could've gone any differently than they did because of "Roxanne's Date" scene. It's only fitting then that she plays a critical role in helping Megamind eventually defeat Hal.

So true. I originally thought sense Hall got his powers second hand, he didn’t receive his weakness. But I like what they did with the story more.
Yeah i realized why tighten escaped from that trap when i saw metroman alive
Still it surprises me that megamind actually thought of that in the first place as a backup plan, or maybe he just planned to use it for another time once he escaped jail after their first encounter?
He wouldn't even have "rightly assumed" the dome was lined or made of copper tbh. He'd just look with his eyes, that can see, right through leeeaaaaad, to know what the dome was made of before he said the line.
I always thought this was really obvious honestly lol

It reminds me of how Spiderman would just devolve into a self centered jerk if his uncle didn't die
I'd abuse superpowers, that being living in the most beautiful parts of the world humanity hasn't screwed up yet.
Thank you for saying his name right.
His "You should stop comparing me to Metroman!" seems like a boast at the time when in reality it's more born out of insecurity than anything as when he thinks he has to fight the real Metroman he freaks out and lose the will to fight immediately.

*WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE, WE'VE GOT FUN AND GAMES!* 🎸🎸
I’ve always felt this way about this scene.
Hal is absolutely terrifying as a superpowered incel.
@@Sigart
And therein lies the beauty of the film. Megamind was never interested in hurting people, only putting on a show. It's precisely why he tells Tighten that he would never be a supervillain: Hal had no spectacle.
“Game over”
"You don't have to be a gun. You are what you choose to be. You choose." Both Megamind and the Iron Giant are such good movies and share that same message of choosing your own destiny.

They both say the same message but with different results

Tighten is the dumbest villain ever to be honest lol which makes him entertaining to watch.
And also he did technically lie to minion.
“What’s your name, new hero?”
You just saw him destroy everything in his path, INCLUDING cars filled with *living people* in them, and your first reaction was “new hero” after he failed to even catch the bad guy.
I really wish the movie went into that. I felt Metro Man just abandoning his city for selfish reasons really killed his character.
@@329link
It wasn't exactly selfish, because there was no initial threat at all.

I always like those scenes where the character is going so fast they world slows down, but if you really think about it a bit, that means their perception of time is really "slow", so a simple conversation is actually like an eternity. Compare that to Red Rush from Invincible. The world is constantly in slow motion for him because he's so fast. He even says that mere conversation is excruciating because for his perception, people talk very slowly.

Titan is just so realistically evil it's terrifying 😬
"I thought you were dead"
"My Death was Greatly Exaggerated"
Genius movie, the thought of an angry incel getting superman's powers is scary, and this movie was before online incels gained national media attention, not to mention how genuinly surprising it was for me at least that Hal would become the villain. I'm glad this movie is getting more recognition now, it's so much more creative than most other superhero garbage movies that has been coming out in recent years
let's be real, Titan is honestly what would happen if an entitled perv got godlike powers.
I love this movie and I honestly prefer it over Despicable Me.
7:57 OMG! I never realized that Titan says "pavement"
Usually, in American animated movies, they say "sidewalk"
This movie is a masterpiece
It came from an era where people still said "two-thousand" instead of "20" when they said the year
Damn, this movie takes me back. Oh the nostalgia.
The mech was the best part of the movie.
Megamind is like Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, he only thinks he's evil.
".. and there is no queen of England"
To think we live in the time line without a Megamind 2
To be fair, Megamind was perfect as is.
“Always ahead of its time”
“There is no queen of England”
Truly

“All I ever did, I did to make you proud! Tell me how proud you are, Shifu! Tell me! TELL ME!”
And there is no queen of England 🥴
"what megamind wants, I'm hasn't had ever been living in a post Markiplier world" Markiplier I'm dead
Hal was really scary for me just that scene of him throwing Roxanne around the sky is too much. Shows how irresponsible and powerful he was 🙈🙈🙈
Titan is a Blizzard employee.
Megamind is shockingly underrated
I didn't notice this detail until seeing it in this video.
The Magazine being held up for comparison doesn't fit Titan. But it fits perfectly with Megamind.
I really wanna know who the heck was the man Megamind used to become the space dad. Like, as far as i'm concerned, he only could use the cubes for the hollograms so. . . Who even was that man?
The watch scans people, he doesn’t need to dehydrate them. You can see this when he escapes prison towards the beginning, he projects the likeness of the warden without needing the gun.
@@jakobr_ I totally forgot about the scan, thanks.
Although the question of who that man is stands, xD
Maybe he can design custom made characters as well, or perhaps he scanned a character in a movie

I thought you were going to talk about "There's is no Queen of England" since the Queen of England is dead.
"there is no Easter Bunny, there is no Tooth Fairy, and there is no Queen of England"
When Titan said he wasn't taking Megaman to jail and prepared to kill him I got major chills bro
I know this movie needed a limited ammount of characters, but there's like, a milion people in Metrocity that Megamind could've chosen, and he just happens to land on a megalomaniac simp
“There is no tooth fairy, there is no Easter bunny, and there is no queen of England”
That line hits different now.
nobody gonna mention that Titan definitely killed some people with that gasoline truck explosion he caused?
I wish there could have made megamind 2
Titan really reminds me of Wheatley from Portal 2, because basically it shows what happens when you give power to a moron, they get corrupted by it, thinking it's all they need to be good.
Ah, Megamind. The true predecessor of The Boys.
The Boys predates Megamind
Pikmin 4's properly announced!
8:09 “Not sure if there’s a gag here…”
The only gag in that scene is the chopstick up Hal’s nose that he snorts out.
Whose here after the sequels trailer?
Here
Havn’t seen the trailers or the movie but do I count?
