Checking out this monster, and wondering whether it's an alternative to importing my GT500 from the USA? The Sutton CS850GT is a beast with 850hp, huge modifications, and a crazy soundtrack, so let's take it for a drive including an epic tunnel run!
You need to keep your GT500. It's a special car to begin with, plus all of those memories! Maybe getting both? However, you have to weigh everything out based on how frequently you'll be in the US.
I was driving through the tunnel myself when you passed me in the Mustang. The sound was simply earth-shattering with my window slightly down. My 2 Chihuahuas literally scarpered in fright away from the window when you passed. It was quite hilarious as they were barking their heads off to all other cars until then.
Hmmm... Nice specs on the 850. Just feel like the GT500 would be a much more special asset in the UK. Import the 500 and let Sutton do their thing on that chassis.
Probably have them put carbon fiber on the exterior plastic pieces, as for handling I think is pretty good stock from Factory there's a video of a GT500 going pretty fast on the Nurburgring
Shelby has already done a tremendous job on the GT500 suspension. Im not saying nobody else does great, but Shelby has been doing mustangs since there have been mustangs.

Tim, while this is a gorgeous GT, it will always be a modified GT. From a business standpoint I would suggest you keep the shelby. It will have the greatest value in the years to come.
I don't think that future value comes into it if Tim decides to pull the plug on this beast. It's all about the sound, the fun, and the experience with this one. It's the sort of car that Tim can add to the garage without worrying too much about the financial aspect!

I like the idea of the Mustang being a permanent USA car, but the vision of the three Halo Fords sitting next to each other is what I actually want to see.
Personally i would still go for the GT500, and hey, if/when you import it over, why not let Sutton have a fiddle around with it. I mean hey, why not have the most powerful GT500 in the UK, let alone having one of the very few GT500's in the UK as it is. I think Sutton has a Blue GT500 in their inventory, non track pack if I'm not mistaken. But definitely keep your GT500!

Owning a manual makes you feel more badass because it’s YOU doing the work. You feel like you ARE the machine. I’ve only driven manual 1 time and that was my first time ever and I was learning on a WRX and it was the greatest hour ever.

I have a supercharged 2013 coyote that has 630 hp to the crank, 530 to the wheels still on the stock air intake and exhaust, except for GT500 axle-back mufflers. It would only need an open intake and tune to get it up over 700hp to the crank, which it would handle no problem because the engine is an aluminator (I broke a few small pieces off one piston of the original engine). But, one thing that you might find different with the coyote motor is fuel economy on the highway. I can get over 30 mpg on the highway at 120kph and just under at 130kph. Dial it back to 110kph, which I don’t do very much, and I can get mid 30’s, something unheard of in a 400+ hp car back in the muscle car era. Don’t know if that engine setup could do the same, but who knows unless you give it a try.
Picked up a Huracan STO and AMG GT Black Series in the same week, both custom paint jobs. Then gets to test drive the narliest Mustang in the UK. It's safe to say, Shmee is living a life better than most of our dreams.
In my mind I still think you need to import your GT500 because of all the memories you've had with it over in the US, but also having it imported into the UK makes it even more unique because it's a left-hand drive car. Also I adore the lime green paint on your GT500, it is the best colour ever put on a mustang.
Proper old school muscle car with current tech, which you can buy today, what's not to like? About importing, at the end of the day, what makes business sense. Memories you have, and videos, so not too sentimental about it. My vote would be for a new daily driver, hot hatch Focus. One you can truly go out and about in. With the Clive Sutton Options. Makes it bit more real. Attainable. A sprightly Errand Express for the Shmuseum. A whole essay! Thank you, as always, good fun :)
That one looks fantastic but it just doesn’t have the Shelby mystique. You definitely need to hold on to your GT500. I love the idea of getting the Sutton for when you are home and run the Shelby when you come here to the good old USA. The best of both worlds and you have so many great memories already with the GT500!
One is designed from the ground up by Ford's best engineers, another is a bunch of parts slapped on a Mustang GT with a huge markup. The importation fees of the GT500 will be huge but the cars aren't comparable really.
@@hyenaboy7504 obviously they upgrade the performance but at best this is an equivalent to the Shelby Super Snakes built by Shelby American based on a standard Mustang GT with upgrades vs the fully in house engineered Shelby GT500. The Super Snake boasts better hp figures, but the GT500 delivers much better performance.
Ultimately, the Sutton is a modified Mustang GT with a blower and bodywork while the GT500 is a special car with a huge focus on track capabilities. In fact, I'm curious if Sutton even added sufficient heat exchanges and transmission coolers to deal with the massive amount of heat that's generated on a long lap.
I love the fact that Shmee, even with the amazing cars he is always buying and diving, still isn't jaded. He was literally giggling filming this. I love that. A true car fan. He just loves what he does!!
I think nothing can compare GT500. It’s a limited edition car, track focus version of mustang, definitely your car collection was about, it’s gonna be complete unicorn in the UK, just bring GT500 to the UK like the original plan
Ships are sitting offshore waiting to unload. Might take 3 or 4 months to unload all of them. You might put your GT500 on a Cargo Plane if you want it anytime soon.
I don't think this quite makes the cut (cosmetic addons, like the fake vents, are an immediate no go for me, though). Then again, I also didn't agree with the solarbeam yellow until I saw it and now I love it, so.. whatever makes you happy!
Honestly Tim, I would rather you import the GT500. The fake vents are a NO GO in my opinion, it doesn't have the massive rotors (and therefore I would assume it has weaker braking power) that your GT500 does. Your GT500 is freaking perfect and modified GTs are a dime a dozen, even at this level of modification. Just my humble opinion. Epic video as always! Have an amazing day!
When you came to Sydney I was going to bring my old commodore 5.0ltre vt that only had a hotdog from xforce. 3.5 inch sports. It was so loud and sucked fuel so bad that it was too expensive to bring down. In retrospect I should’ve. Soo loud! I was actually around the corner from Tim when he went to the car museum in Gosford. And could’ve done the run from there to Sydney. Oh well. I now have a Fiesta which saves money but I miss that noise.
I'm glad the GT500 is still coming over. No disrespect meant to the modified Mustangs at all, but anyone can pick up a tuned RHD Mustang. To import a true GT500 - one you drove around the USA no less - is infinitely more special.
Nice to see an alternative to the Shelby GT500 in Europe. Too bad you can't get the Shelby Wide Body kit. It really makes the Super Snake Mustang. It's not available on the GT 500, you have to buy a Mustang GT, put a lot of cash in the trunk and give it to Shelby to be modified. IMHO makes the Mustang look even better.
I'm commenting at 2 minutes and then the interior and engine bay , its a no brainer this interior is nice and way better quality that the standard ford interior
Do a road trip with this mustang may to Germany .... For fun can check fuel efficiency ( which we know supercharged mustangs are not made for that but still give it a try 😂) and take it to the track , the Nurburgring. That would be a fun video 👍

Manual GT with 850 horses and an awesome exhaust - definitely a better choice than the GT500. Hope you get one for the UK.

Sutton also upgrades the performance of the cars, as well. So, in a sense, I'd say this is kind of the Mustang equivalent of a Brabus Mercedes.

This is an amazing mustang, but it doesn’t have the same prestige as a Shelby. Plus the Shelby has remote start.

The correct answer is to import the GT-500 and add the new Whipple 3.8l supercharger.
