Thank you so much for creating these videos. It is such a refreshing change to have some up to date content directly from Googlers, in plain language and who know what they are talking about. Please keep them coming!
In this tutorial, Matt Landers covers how to create audiences in Google Analytics. An audience groups users based on specific criteria, like having signed up for a newsletter. Landers demonstrates creating a custom audience, including users who have signed up for the newsletter and excluding those who haven’t. He explains that audiences can be used for detailed analysis and targeted advertising, such as in Google Ads campaigns. The tutorial also highlights that audiences take 24 to 48 hours to populate and can be used to track and optimize user interactions over time.
Thank you for the tutorial. One thing that confused me is about the membership duration feature. There is no difference on the user numbers no mater I set it to 7/14/30/max. I found out that if i want to set audiences like "add to cart in the last 7 days". I need to set the rule as "add to cart" + "event count > 0 in the past 7 day period". And in such case, I don't know should I set the membership duration to 7 or max or something else... Further clarification would be greatly appreciated.
You say that membership duration is ppl who have signed up for the newsletter in the last 30 days, could you, please, elaborate on it? Is not it the count of days users stay in the audience for retargeting purposes?
How do I setup tracking for signing up for our newsletter? I don't see that as an event, I assume because I don't have it setup as an event? Sorry for the noob question.

How do you add the "ALL Users" audience or segment to an explorer report? For example, I want to compare two segments together, one with specific criteria vs ALL Users. This segment is not available to bring into the segments section in explorer.
Items from Configure are now in the general "Admin" settings. Go to the Admin (gear icon) button in the bottom left of the screen, and you can find Audiences in the second column.
All users have the Viewer role for the Google Analytics Demo Account, so it's best for viewing data and adjusting reports. (Learn more about the Google Merch Store property here: support.google.com/analytics/answer/6367342 )
