This is so close to what I need. I don't think this keyboard can do what I need but it's SOOOO CLOSE. I want to record a whole song. Not just a 4 measure pattern that gets transposed. Like, I want to be able to lay down 180 measures of music on bass, then do the drums, then do the piano, then do whatever else, and play my guitar over it. I basically wanna make my own backing tracks. And I'd like to be able to save the songs without hooking my keyboard up to a computer.
Actually you can, it's a pain but you can individually record each segment in the recorder. You can check out what i did on my channel which is the Daggerfall songs.
For the price, this is amazing! I really wish keyboard manufacturers would sell the units without keybeds. Many musicians already have controllers that they're comfortable with and have the space for.
Hey Mike! How about producing a "How To" DVD for this board? Like others, I find trying to work with the manual confusing but when I actually see how it's done it makes things a lot easier & quicker to learn. Casio should should have you make one AND include it with the unit.
Me comprare uno de éstos ya que tengo. Uno baratito el wk500, definitely I'm going to get this one and with the tutorial is gonna be better, Casio is making it name on a higher reputation than before
I hear on the final demostration you use a combination of the grand piano with I don't know what other sound, I think is a synth, can you tell me what sound is??? what combination you use??? It sound bloody nice!!
I want to be able to copy my accompaniment patterns between Intro-Normal-Normal Fill In- Variation Fill-in, and Synchro Ending, but when I use the copy function in the Part Edit section, when I go back to see if the data is there, not only is not there, but the original is gone too! What the hell?
Mike I am trying to do this task and apply it to the CTK 6000 I am lost per manual because it bounces you around in so maay places. I would really appreciate some light and step by step in this catagory PLEASe. Thanks
Hello Mike, does these have balanced XLR mic inputs or TS? the website just says "std jack". Also, does the mic supply 48v phantom power to use a condenser mic? -Thanks PS:i halve expected you to break out singing a phil collins song or something. sounded great ! ! !
Mike, not sure if you're still monitoring this but curious if the patterns are sent out the MIDI port also for manipulation in a DAW like Cakewalk Sonar, or do they only drive the on-board sound engine? Also, just a product suggestion for your R&D department; no one has built a software package that does what your pattern sequencing functionality does as a .VST for a DAW. While I realize Casio sees it as a marketing tool for their keyboards, using it with any VST synth could be a big market.
Someone on the Casio list said if I mentioned specifics here, I might get a tutorial. My problem with the manual is a) it refers to buttons by number ("L4") and I have to go back and try to figure out which button that is; and b) it jumps around the book giving too many options for each step based on references all around the book. SAVING TO USER SELECTIONS : I can save a keyboard set up to one of the pre-set buttons... What's the quick 1-2-3 step process for doing that ???
Hi, Mike, I am from India. I have recently bought a CT-X9000IN (equivalent to CT-X5000). You are requested to show in detail how to create user rhythm along with other accompanying instruments and then save it. Since in India the said keyboard is marketed with Indian tones & rhythm, I request you to use any Indian rhythm instrument for explanation.
Hi Mike. Thank you ever so much for your VERY good video, I have been trying this and with success I have created part of a country rythm but just need to create the other half, fill ins, ending and intro which I expect works on the same recording principal. I was wonder if there is a way to lengthen the measure from 4 beats? Cheers again and best regards Rickie Chapple from the UK.
Hi Mike, great tutorial --- thank you for posting ----- question ,I tried to add a bongo sound to a rythym I started, and I tapped the key needed "x" amount of times for the measure,,, but it plays it back kinda syncopated,,, not straight like i touched the key. Any idea how to rectify that? Thanks
hi i have a problem with my casio wk 6500 sequencer. the measures do not stop counting, even if i update 4 measures. to make it cyclical. how to set the measures to have a loop of 4 measures please
Sir thank you for such a wonderful demo of pattern sequencing. Sir, Can we change metronome (eg; 6/8) in pattern sequencing ? It only gives 4/4 metronome Reply
Why is it that when I play back my song back, i can't play major chords? And all the chords are 3 keys higher. After I save my song in pattern sequence mode.
Journeytaker101 Ok now, if you want to change 4beat pre count to 3/4 this is how you do it,first Turn your keyboard on,2.press the User Rhythm,3.press the Patterns Sequencer.4. hold the fucntion button and press the Pattern Sequencer button,5 on your right handside of the keyboard, you will see this arrow pointing up and down left and right next to the enter and exit button,6 press right and press down to the ElementEdit and then press enter,so you can see it.after u finish setting your beat to 3/4 press exit 2x then press record, after pressing the record button, hold the fucntion button again and press store, after that set your Quantize to 16,and then press the arrow button to the right and set your Metronome to on by press the wheel button, after that press exit and you can record your own beat.
God Bless you all.... Casio All the Way
Great demo. Very clear presentation. I heve just bought a 7600 and am finding it rather too complex to operate. This has helped a lot - more please.
Really Amazing Arranger Workstation. I LOVE IT. I have a Casio CTK 7300IN but I found this one even better.
This is so close to what I need.

Still the best tutorial I have seen. 5 years and I am still watching this.
Thanks Mike for this tutorial. Good job. The user's manual pattern sequencing section was a bit overwhelming. Do more like this.

@goshmerlin - That is Warm Pad, I believe number 70 in the Synth category.
As long you got a Partterns Sequencer and User Rhythms on your keyboards then you can record your own beats an save them aswel
Me comprare uno de éstos ya que tengo. Uno baratito el wk500, definitely I'm going to get this one and with the tutorial is gonna be better, Casio is making it name on a higher reputation than before
Great tutorial! You blew away User Rhythm 006 though.
Great demo. He should demo all keyboards . Congrats
Please let us know as to how to add synchro fill-in in the pattern sequencer.
I hear on the final demostration you use a combination of the grand piano with I don't know what other sound, I think is a synth, can you tell me what sound is??? what combination you use??? It sound bloody nice!!
I need this just to record midi style. I like recording midi style. Every keyboard has its own personality
This was very helpfull, please do more videos!
Can you upload the patterns from the keyboard to the computer?
Can we use sliders for tone editing, like the knobs in yamaha..

The f al musica piece sequence at the end of this video is super cool! Is it a rhytm? Can you provide that pattern mike? I would love to use it sr.
no, only the 7000 and 7500. full Manual is available online at Casio.

The CTK-6000 doesn't have the pattern sequencer. This video applies to the CTK-7000 and WK-7500 only.
Where is the menu button
What is the purpoe of the system track...no one talks about this
