They're technically chaos undivided but mostly unpious, which means you can't even escape into the local cult-like becoming a slaneshii reveler that gets to enjoy the pain,or a khornate blood lust with the world eaters. Iron warriors will kill you trying to kill the leaders of your hive or just by fighting your pdf or support guardsmen and marines. They might not go out of their way to kill every civilian but they will kill whoever is in front of them for sure.
Death guard has to be the worst, not only will you have to fight against the most resiliant space marines, but you also have to survive the plauge turned to 11
My favorite part of the Red Corsairs attacking the White Scars is when a Marine asks Huron if Abbadon would get mad of them for not being on Cadia, Huron says "So what? If hes got a problem then i guess we cluld always have another Warmaster"
Its between the death guard and the emperors bastards. For Worldeaters at least theyll make it quick. And for 1000 sons at least you die trippin balls 😂😂😂

I completely agree. And lore wise I don’t even think it’s close. It’s like DG 10, and I wouldn’t really change much else. One deathguard squad will require an exterminatus and there is no other force mentioned on this list that can say the same.
It's an undisputable tie between the Death Guard and the Emperor's Children. An eternity of Slaaneshi or Nurglite damnation is beyond our comprehension. (You could argue "but you won't feel it that way" for both but please just don't we all know you don't want 500000 maggots running inside you as you become a tree made of sentient pus etc)
Death Guard. Emperors bastards are cleaner and much less belly wrenching to look at. And are more easy to kill. Plauge Marines just soak stuff and then they blow. You have to aim for the head if you want to finish 1 of them quickly. Not to mention, if by some chance you survive battle with them and end up on the winning side, you still have to clean the mess. 🫡 to heroic servitors, serfs and virtual probes that are condemned to dispose of DG legioners bodies.
you should probably do another video of which is the worst Chaos Space Marine legion to be "conquered by" as in: what would each Chaos space Marine Legion do if they invade you and win. I know the Emperor's Children would be #1 without competition (maybe some from the Night Lords) but it would be interesting to know what the other Legions do.
Especially because not only do you gotta deal with beefed up chaos marines that don't feel anything to hordes of demons but you also have to deal with biological warfare which is a hell of a thing to deal with as they can deny whole areas funneling you into kill zones however if you already know how to fight in a CBRN environment they are at least beatable if you prepare
From the perspective of a commander with a company of marines at my side, I would rather fight the World Eaters due to their overall lack of cohesion. A solid firing line can halt their progress. From the perspective of a citizen, the Emperor's Children would be the WORST. Oleander Koh turned a group of prisoners into a chair. A fucking CHAIR. (The prisoners were still alive after its construction).
The fact that the World Eaters are one of the better legions to be invaded by says a lot about chaos. If I were just a civilian on the world, the Nightlords or the Emperors Children would probably be the worst. If I were a basic soldier, Iron Warriors all the way!
As a Thousand Sons enjoyer I would say that this is somewhat correct. You can't really put a score on them because changing ways is kinda their thing, but 7 is good middleground. Death Guard on the other hand is in my opinion the deadliest of them all. Nurgle corruption is the one corruption that is not doable for imperium to purify, they are tanky beond natural means fighting near them gets you killed, they are experts in choking the life out of their enemies be it with artillery or just by forcing their way in, they will turn your human population in to poxwalkers and they very much have a goal to spread deseases and Nurgle does have the strongest motive to target citizens. And on top of that they are thriving and almost the only faction that enjoy their life in 41st milenia. Their enemies are riddled with deseases before they have even been seen and the combat with them is no joy. 10/10 danger level.
Iron Warriors. They made the Daemonculaba and all the industry of horrors. Being a survivor against them is a fate worse than death as they use your flesh and soul to fuel there horrofic industry. Emperors Children. They will make sport of everything and turn some survivors into drugs, though they will seek to exhault Slaanesh by making you experience the nost horrific death they can imagine. And they are incredibly imaginative. Night Lords. They arent cowards but they seek to instill such horror into the there enemies so they lose all will to fight and only to continue the torture until the planet runs red with rivers of flayed flesh. Death Guard. They will seek to spread the blessings of Nurgle and make as many people as possible experience the most exalted state of existence. That being an undying rottingass of flesh and your body becomes host to endless cycles pf death and rebirth, until you eventually are either devoured by the daemons or you embrace the madness and become a vessel of disease to spread the love of your Grandfather Nurgle. World Eaters. They seek to fight in straight combat as much as possible to exalt Khorne and earn his attention. Honestly the most straightforward and honest. Black Legion. They are home to every chaos faction and will use any and all tactics to achieve whatever goal they seek to achieve. Alpha Legion. They would strike as allies and as enemies to sow as much confusion as possible while using that discord to install themselves into the enemy command structure. They then wpuldneither allow them victory so they could spread agents further afield to cause greater damage to the command infrastructure. So they can win the war so fully they dont need to bleed at all to achieve victory. Word Bearers. They would likely strike the enemy to install horror and wonder of the Chaos Gods. After all the influence of these powers and incredibly subtle. They are also just as likely to defeat a system so they can take the billioms of mortal souls as sacrifices to use in either strengthening themselves or corrupt reality with the daemonic energies of the warp. They can do so much that the number of strategies they can deploy is horrific. Thousand Sons. They are slaves to the changer of ways and will enact Tzeentchs change through conventional warfare and more subtle plots and sorcery. They can and have done such insane feats as to reformat a planet or throw it into eitger warp or outer orbit. There powers and armies are terrifying to behold. Whatever patron power a chaos force seeks to exalt largely determines how they will engage in battle or espionage. However this isnt a given, as each chaos god has overlap and a Khornate could seek exaltation through scheming just as much as he could for Tzeentch, Nurgle or Slaanesh. As Khorne seeks the blood to flow in combat and schemong to achieve combat in his way would gain his interest. Just so for Nurgle, it could be the corruption of medical supplies by a twisted doctor seeking to free his charges of the mortal prison and free them in open decay. Slaanesh would seek for its followers to find ways to bring peeks in emotional spectrum, any emotional high or low could be done to seek the Prince of Pleasures attention. Tzeentch would allow you to inspire hope for change in enacting its cause. The powers of Chaos are myriad and they are so more complex and subtle that exterminatus is liberation from corruption.
There would be magnitudes of suffering to be had from any Chaos Legion, but I do believe the Emperor's Children would be the worst. They aren't just there to kill you.
Either Death Guard, Night Lords, or Emperors Children. Personally, I think it’s probably Night Lords. Outside of Drukari (though that’s a whole different level) they are probably going to cause the most indirect pain. Imagine listening to the screaming sounds of women and children being flayed alive. Knowing the last thing a 5-10 year old child ever experienced was unknowable pain and suffering. Sure Drukari does that turned to 11 (or like 1000) but we’re talking about Chaos legions.
I think it's a little silly to put the night lords at a higher rating than the world eaters considering how often angron manifests onto the battlefield
Death guard bring some of the greatest fear and suffering. The black legion and iron warriors are by far the most deadly chaos marines and it’s not debatable. I’d say DG is 3 BL is 2 and IW are 1 for me.
I would give the Alpha Legion a 9.5, since if they did their job, you wouldn't even know they were involved in the first place. Which is pretty damn terrifying if you think about it... Also, I am Alpharius.
I'd take dealing with the Night Lords invading my world instead of the Death Guard. I've thought about what a Death Guard invasion would be like and it's nothing I'd ever want to deal with.
As a cohesive effective fighting force with maximum consistent magnitudes of damage for both long & short periods of time and able to orchestrate plans and adaptability in engagements goes to both the Iron Warriors & Death Guard. Though the Iron Warriors are bit more tactically adaptable to certain field situations and normally have a better grand battle plan that can shift depending on the situation. The Iron Warriors nearly have the same traits and doctrines of toughness and coordination almost like the Cabal forces in Destiny have. Though the Cabal have their stubborn no retreat policy involved which is quite a downing penalty. A fight between Cabal and Iron Warriors would be pretty intriguing. I wonder how the Death Guard would fair against something like the Hive of Destiny and if their plauges could affect those xenos. If not they are kind of screwed as they lose the effectiveness their most powerful attribute normally provided for them in planetary wars against their adversities. Alpha Legion they are good at their infiltrations and orchestrating a whole bunch of organizational subvertion, conspiracies, and undermining communities and infrastructure. They are a good supportive role. By the way nice to see the Red Corsairs make it here. They are quite ignored most of the time as their ambitions are more localized.
This isn't even a question it's clearly death guard because dying slowly to indiscribable illnesses or quickly to having chemicals melting our skin is horrifying and then maybe emperors children because.... sadism.
I really enjoyed this video. Knowing that my homebrew chapter would get stomped on my iron warriors but also annihilate world eaters is very useful information
The alpha legion never broke or fled into the eye in addition to this they had numbers upwards of what say the ultramarines had they are no joke dispite being a meme
Biased but i think AL would be the worst to be invaded by. Not only does it come, seemingly, out of nowhere. You'll be attacked on multiple fronts, have mass panic and confusion as communications are knocked out or compromised, leaders are assassnated, supplies and weapons sabatoged or destroyed and friends and comrades are turning on eachother and that's before the actual astartes reveal themselves.
Word Bearers are nightmare fuel. Kor Phaeron said something along the lines of "No warrior strikes with the conviction of a crusader" or something like that. On a marine level the Word Bearers are fanatics and I love how in 9th ed it reflected in their Legion trait too. They're in many ways a dark mirror of the Black Templars in how they weaponise their faith.
Feath guard for me 9.5 nurgle spoils the death guard by huge spread of diseases that could do anything to everyone on world, while the world itself gets sicker making more demons show up fighting the defenders as well. All without the death guard lifting a finger. Thanks for the videos🎉
as much as iron warriors are my favorite, the death guard are like an 11/10, you just cant win. (would still keep iron warriors a 10/10 as they will most likely win unless you get a significant reinforcement from one of the stronger loyalist chapters)
I agree, I would also say Iron Warriors are the most dangerous chaos legion. I personally collect Black Legion, and I would say that the thing that you said they are vanilla is the strong thing is true because they did destroy Cadia which would be most significant thing chaos forces done in 10 Millenia.
As an iron warrior simp, I completely agree with them being the worst to be invaded by. How ever the red corsairs I would out in par with the iron lads. As you have so many renegade chapters who have fallen into the ranks of the red corsairs means that they bring variety and a level of unpredictability to the battle field. Also not forgetting hurin would have rebuilt his tyrant guard whom were a formidable fighting force during the war for badab. Annnd they would be able to call on support from the other traitor legions if there goals align.
compare to each others I'm raking Emperor's children: 6 (few, disorganized, no warp, no artillery, weak among astartes) Iron warriors: 10 Night lords: 7 (tricky enough) World eaters: 8 (EFFECTIVE in all caps) Death guard: 9 (you're fighting the marine, the demon AND the virus) Thousand sons: 8.5 (if enough of them want you gone, you're gone.) Black legion: 8 (good track record) Word bearers: 9 Alpha legion: 9.5 Red corsair: 9
I would absolutely not rank Alpha Legion and Red Corsairs higher than Iron Warriors and Black Legion. The Alpha Legion is a hit and run army that usually pursues more limited goals than violent expansion, which is why they're so hard to pin down but also why they pose less of a threat all on their own and the Red Corsairs are a bunch of upstart pirates and bandits. I'd rank the Iron Warriors as the most dangerous legion because they always commit themselves 100% to whatever they want to achieve and always take the most efficient path to accomplishing this without any irrelevant distractions that the Word Bearers or any of the monogod aligned legions would be subjected to. The Black Legion I rank high because they represent the most persistent threat out of any of the traitor legions and are the only ones that have the numbers and organisation to challenge the Imperium head-on and have basically all tools Chaos can offer on call. Word Beares I'd rank behind them simply because these guys waste so much time on their preaching and petty religious squabbles.
hmmm i would put it a bit diffrently. nr 1: word bearers for the unlimitted fuckerry they do afterwards. nr2: Emperors children... you know why. nr3: Black legion. They are not the worst in the range of sheer madness and what not. But they do tend to fill their ranks quicker than most. Wich they can use this is dangerous. nr4: Deathguard! yeah erhm do i have to explain it? they are worse than red corsairs cause of their foul taint that stays and does alot og damage... nr5: Night lords... they are a bit more than your avarage torture chamber... but still mild what compares to the 1-3 spots. nr6: thousand sons... they need sacrifice for the powers they deploy sooo yeah... nr7: Iron warriors ehh nothing special tbh just a bit of siege and bla bla bla BOOOORING!! nr8: Khorne and Red corsairs shares this spot where i actually would put them both lower... just because they just slaughter eavrything so ehhh... Atleast it is quick and violent.
Iron warriors most efficient for sure... I sure as shit woulf not want to live on the planet getting invaded by Night lords. Bombed with psychedelic drugs tripping balls while I hear the screams of people getting tortured, no sleep, no rest and the fear of getting caught by them... F that.
Night Lords and Emperors Children. Because of how they treat prisoners. World Eaters and Iron Warriors. Because of how brutally and successfully they achieve victory on the battlefield.
Before watching I beat as follow 1 Death Guard 2 Iron Warriors 3 Alpha Legion. I'm pretty happy with that while finishing video :) P.S Stinky Boys are defo at least 9.5 ....
Worst one is probably be the iron warriors or the word bearers because with the former you’ll be worked to death without the benefit of your mind being shattered; and with the latter, you will be at the mercy of a demon for eternity right from the get go. World eater would be the best (arguably) as your suffering (assuming you don’t end up a demons plaything) could be measured in hours/ days at minimum or days/months/years if you are good at killing.
I think you are vastly underestimating the emperors children. While they are pleasure seekers, delayed gratification is a part of hedonism. And they might find pleasure in a well executed plan. They also haven't forgotten what strategy is.
I would give Death Guard a total 10! I would rather be killed by Iron Warriors than slowly rot and decay alive! You can't win against Death Guard unless you're some kind of a god!
Alpha Legion: your world has already fallen, you just don't know it yet. Should be a 10, they do what they want and the planet just has to go along, it can be as savage or bloodless as alpha chooses.
It was very awesome to see, chaos marines are cool as hell and while i agree with most, i disagree on the death guard part. I feel like getting attacked by them is far more horrifying and a bad time than the iron warriors, i get the iron warriors getting a 10 but i feel like the death guard deserves a 10 too.
DG. Definetely I'd rather face Angrons axe or Perturabos iron fist than smell Mortarion. You smell those guys, you are 1 foot in your grave. And worse.

They got framed by the Lion.
Death guard should probably be at a 9. They’re super underrated and probably are a top 3 chaos legion imo
The night lords held off the dark angles during the heresy you gotta give em more credit
During the heresy tho so its at there peak
Would have to say emps children or night lords, i quite like my skin and would like to keep it attached to my musculature
Worst would be Night Lords, Emperors Children and the Death Guard.
100 percent Death Guard would be the worst
I feel like there's honestly some loyalist legions (Iron Hands, Space Wolves) that would be worse to be invaded by than the Thousand Sons
Feath guard for me 9.5 nurgle spoils the death guard by huge spread of diseases that could do anything to everyone on world, while the world itself gets sicker making more demons show up fighting the defenders as well. All without the death guard lifting a finger. Thanks for the videos🎉
Iron warriors would suck, but they wouldn’t cause nearly the amount of suffering that the Emperor’s Children or Death Guard would.
Death Guard, hands down. Emperor's Children might be nearly as bad.
I'll take the Emperor 's Children if they have sick riffs 🤘🤘🤘
as much as iron warriors are my favorite, the death guard are like an 11/10, you just cant win. (would still keep iron warriors a 10/10 as they will most likely win unless you get a significant reinforcement from one of the stronger loyalist chapters)
If you’ve listened to All the Gods are Dead by Vox in the Void then you’ll know that a Slanneshi invasion is the most terrifying by far.
This. I think it's safe to say that they may want you to live through the worst bodily experience of your life before you die.
Forces of Khorne propably, Nurgle seems like the best option from all of them
Any Nurgle.
"Only in death does duty end." Unless you are brought back from the dead
Night Lords, 110%. They do unspeakable things just to do them and you have no chance
This
Fulgrims bunch the Emperor's Children is my own worst nightmare
Night Lords hands down. Terror is their strategy.
I agree, I would also say Iron Warriors are the most dangerous chaos legion. I personally collect Black Legion, and I would say that the thing that you said they are vanilla is the strong thing is true because they did destroy Cadia which would be most significant thing chaos forces done in 10 Millenia.
Concise & well thought out, good job! Although my thoughts on the matter may stem from us having fairly similar views on the subject...
Emperor's Children. Full stop. 😨
Annnd they would be able to call on support from the other traitor legions if there goals align.
love the description and argumentations, hate the ratings
compare to each others I'm raking
Emperor's children: 6 (few, disorganized, no warp, no artillery, weak among astartes)
Iron warriors: 10
Night lords: 7 (tricky enough)
World eaters: 8 (EFFECTIVE in all caps)
Death guard: 9 (you're fighting the marine, the demon AND the virus)
Thousand sons: 8.5 (if enough of them want you gone, you're gone.)
Black legion: 8 (good track record)
Word bearers: 9
Alpha legion: 9.5
Red corsair: 9
Who’s that handsome sounding shark you found?
Hands down anything with nurgle. 2nd would be slanesh.
Death guard should have been a 9!
Nurgle. Always Nurgle.
Iron warriors most efficient for sure...
I sure as shit woulf not want to live on the planet getting invaded by Night lords. Bombed with psychedelic drugs tripping balls while I hear the screams of people getting tortured, no sleep, no rest and the fear of getting caught by them... F that.
A grinding hammer? That's not how hammers work...
Death guard or night lords.
Night Lords and Emperors Children. Because of how they treat prisoners.
World Eaters and Iron Warriors. Because of how brutally and successfully they achieve victory on the battlefield.
If the iron warriors are led by honsou you should probably go out on your own terms
Before watching I beat as follow 1 Death Guard 2 Iron Warriors 3 Alpha Legion. I'm pretty happy with that while finishing video :) P.S Stinky Boys are defo at least 9.5 ....
My ears were invaded by that thicc fockin' accent LOL love the video
Thank you sir!
Very nice!
Good video, though I would recommend a ranked order next time... Everyone got kinda the same rating which made it all bled together kinda
I would give Death Guard a total 10! I would rather be killed by Iron Warriors than slowly rot and decay alive! You can't win against Death Guard unless you're some kind of a god!
Death guard by a mile
GREATLY Explained!!
Alpha Legion armor is so badazzzz
Alpha Legion: your world has already fallen, you just don't know it yet.
Should be a 10, they do what they want and the planet just has to go along, it can be as savage or bloodless as alpha chooses.
Nightords and emperors children
It was very awesome to see, chaos marines are cool as hell and while i agree with most, i disagree on the death guard part. I feel like getting attacked by them is far more horrifying and a bad time than the iron warriors, i get the iron warriors getting a 10 but i feel like the death guard deserves a 10 too.
Slaneesh or word bearers
Word Bearers
Emperor's Children now doubt
emperors children
DG. Definetely I'd rather face Angrons axe or Perturabos iron fist than smell Mortarion. You smell those guys, you are 1 foot in your grave. And worse.
Sons of Malice - KEK
If i was fighting Iron Warriors I hope Im a Tallarn Desert Raider
DG rated too low imo. But most of these probably depend a lot on daemon support barring maybe Alpha legion cause they’re so damn sneaky.
I’d say the Emperors Children or Night Lords
