Back in the 70's. I remember this song. My Dad would sing it to my mom. He has a Great singing voice. He never had time He always worked 7 days a week. He own 4 Restaurants. When he had time off him and my mom would listen to old country songs. He would dance with me and mom. He has Parkingson Diease and his mind is going. So I play all the songs him and my mom listen to. We lost my mom in 2008 she and my Dad were married 50 years. I want never forget this song.
My father loved this song. I remember my parents dancing to this when it was on Hee Haw. They just stood up and danced. Such rich memories of childhood. Thank you God for my parents. Peace.
One of mom's favorites. She would open the windows on the nice days and turn the volume up just a little bit... She loved to sing along as she did housework or whatever. ✌
I've never been a huge country music fan but always loved that man Charlie Rich...his voice together with his piano was pure magic....Rest In Peace Silver Fox ~ ❤️: ((((((((
Same here I love them, you don’t mind me sharing some few sing with you dear, I’m Dani by name from Chicago illnois been here over 40 years . Hope you don’t mind we be friends
My mom loved Charlie Rich!! This song brings back a lot of memories of my childhood. My mom would play it every time she would clean the house. May God rest her soul ❤️
Such a true story!!! I was a teen when this came out, but I could close my eyes & imagine behind those doors. Now I know, the song means so much more to me. What a greatttt songgggg🥰🥰🥰🥰💗💗💗💗💗
This was my favorite song at the ripe age of 10 years old when it came out. It ruled the airwaves and I would sing along word for word. That piano adds immensely to his great voice! One of my favorite songs of all time!
Like me, you had a refined taste for music as a preteen. When Beatles came in, and I was 13, I thought " What the heck is all this yelling and screaming about? " I had a polished sense of what I thought good music was like, such as country, classical, musicals ,and other music that many 30 to 40 year olds and older liked.
There is nothing like old country music. Growing up with this. We had an Am radio with the Big D dejay on 1600 am. My mother played that station all the time. I listened to it all day long while she went about cleaning, cooking and taking care of us. When i was five, I won a radio at my school. And my mother put it in the living room. It was Big Dino Day, all day long.! Such great memories. When I was five, I was taken to the rodeo in our town. I went to the bathroom. My mother stood outside. While I was in there, I ran into Loretta Lynn. She looked at me and said, how ya doing darlin? I was in total awe. She had on this big purple, sparkled, long gown. That is a memory I will never forget!
My dad loved this song. He and my mom danced to it in the kitchen and he sang it to her. Behind closed doors has been one of my faves since I was a kid! On all of my play lists.
Rich released this song in April of 73. It was his second big hit. His formula was a crossover from country to easy listening pop. A long time county star, he made it big with this and The Most Beautiful Girl in the World. The way he brings it up a key in mid song is tasteful!
I was 6 years old when this was big and it has stuck with me all these years. This song and album doesn't sound country. This is one album I can listen to from start to finish. A monumental masterpiece. It's better than some rock albums
Brings back such fond memories!!! How a person you can go back in time and still have the love ones you lost with you. R.I.P. my darlings. Miss you so very much.
Every time I hear this song it brings right back to the seventies and sailing on San Francisco Bay on my Dad's sailboat with my Mom and siblings, the radio was always on. Happy memories!
This song brings back wonderful childhood memories. When my parents danced to this song, you could feel the love ❤️. This was my dads song, in regards to my mom. May you all rest in peace.
From the time I could realize the identity of things I loved this song . I used to mix up the names of the singers ( Charlie Pride or Charlie Rich ) until I recognise that one was white and the other black . What great singers are they ! Their music is so touching and heartwarming .May they rest in peace .
My Gentle Pitt Bull the silver fox also got his songs played on pop radio as well. I know that and hw was WAYYYYYYY before my time. So he was insanely talented but not real country. Real country wouldn't be played on pop radio dumb shit. That is why today's country is more country
George Jones is one of my father's favs and in turn, mine. :) However, without these greats we wouldn't have the best country music around cause like I said, today's country just isn't the same at all!
Well, this was more of a smooth "adult contemporary," but good music knows no bounds. Today's "country" is neither "country" nor good music most of the time, alas.
Tammy J You are so right and so is fullervision, when ever I happen to be listening to country on the radio and some of that new crud comes on I have to change it. Where did it go all wrong??
I remember as a teenager a friend made me listen to Alabama and said how great they are and this is the future of country music and I was thinking this is crap. Then few years later another friend made me watch 2 hours of Garth Brooks on video. Sheesh I blame them, Just My opinion.
Reminds me of my dad too. He forced us to listen to country music all the way to Mississippi and, at the time, it wasn’t so great but in hindsight, I love this music it brings back so many wonderful memories. That will last a lifetime I love you dad. ❤️ 👼

Amazing talent. Thank you for sharing. A rare fact concerning Charlie Rich. Elvis enjoyed his music and had gone to see him play wearing a disguise. He had his albums up until his death in August of 1977. At the tarmac, in the mid 1970s, Elvis and Charlie crossed paths. The wind was blowing both of their hair around and Charlie asked for his autograph. As soon as Elvis tried it blew away. Finally, Elvis said "this ain't working" and then leaned on his stretched Mercedes Benz limo and gave his autograph. When he was going to hand it to him he said "there is a condition" and Charlie said "what"? Elvis said "mine for yours". Charlie was awestruck and they exchanged autographs. Elvis was not one to ask for an autograph....ever. I have a few photographs of their meeting and besides the wind whipping their hair they both are smiling...ear to ear. Great storyteller/singer. Reminds me of the 70s, my parents, grandparents playing cards listening to CR. Us kids had memorized every word by the end of the night.
Met my husband in 1968 and this became our song and we would dance every time this was played by the band where we hung out and in our home over the years. Today this is still our special love song and smile every time we hear it. However it was song by Charlie Pride when we heard it. 48 yrs later!
We had the same ritual at our house. For Mom it was Dean Martin, Eddy Arnold and Jim Reeves. For us kids it was Hermans Hermits, and Sonny & Cher. I can still remember the words to many of those songs. I'm blessed to still have my precious Mom.
Reminds me of when my mother and I lived in Texas in the 70’s. This song used to be on the radio all the time and I sang along with it. Just a teenager but I loved it! Reminds me of my mother and the good times and feelings we had in those days. When country music touched your heart.
You can’t modify the word unique. The definition of unique is “one of a kind”. It nonsensical to say things like “very unique” or “so unique”. Just as a heads up.
coockiestv This song reminds me of my great-grandmother. She loved the song and the man, lol. I lost her too many years ago to count, but she raised me and we did our tv watching together. This song makes me cry bc it reminds me of her and I watching this on tv when it originally aired. Sorry, if my comment seems all over the place, but I'm crying right now and listening to the song at the same time, so I may not make sense. Thanks for the upload and the memories.

I like country mostly because it tells a true story about happiness or sadness what ever the writer is feeling at the time. I grew up on this kind of music.
How are you doing today Patsy Trejo? Its really nice having you on here .. I saw your profile on here and i think we definitely are on the same page on many levels. Trust, communication, loving, honoring, understanding, patience and respecting your partner. So crucial to provide balance. This is what creates such great chemistry between two people that are committed to one another.
Charlie Rich. 1973-5 were his years. The great 'cross over' artist. Very versatile performer. Some could also say someone like Ricky Martin is a cross over artist, which is true- in more ways than one!
Back in the 70's. I remember this song. My Dad would sing it to my mom. He has a Great singing voice. He never had time He always worked 7 days a week. He own 4 Restaurants. THIS is why I love country music! Today's country music is NOT country!
Tammy J I agree. Mr Rich is the original. He's the greatest. Right up there next to Elvis.

In my humble opinion this is one of the best Country songs of all time.....
The Silver Fox, great songs.
What a voice.
Oh yeah, don't people love to talk???
Love the piano on this great song with Mr. Charlie Rich, one of his best songs! Turn it up!!

Hello beautiful
Wow, what a simple and genius song.
Absolutely amazing.
(: Yes ... True ... 🎶☺
Charlie Rich. 1973-5 were his years. The great 'cross over' artist. Very versatile performer. Some could also say someone like Ricky Martin is a cross over artist, which is true- in more ways than one!
Me too...me too. My folks always played this record as well. Now I have the original copy of theirs on vinyl. I will cherish it.
Hello friend, how are you doing today? ?
Brilliant memories of a bygone era. Growing up in the South, we always listened to these tunes @ home. Reminds me of my Daddy playing his old vinyls.
My fondest memories of this song are my mom and dad dancing in the living room, and then running off to the bedroom❤
OUTSTANDING SONG BY AN OUTSTANDING ARTIST !!
