Great Video, no fancy production BS, this is how it goes, I'm 62 and have had my share of heartbreaks. Look man be proud and congrats to a great buck and story. Also thanks for representing us Hunters with dignity and respect, getting the landowners permission was the way to go. Those Yotes ate him long before you got there, it was not wasted. Now time for some off season Yote hunting :)

Great hunt amazing deer the way he was acting. He was hurt pretty bad. The only thing I would’ve done different and look hindsight always 2020 but I would’ve went to try to speak to someone that evening because probability of them getting up and being at work, the next morning was pretty high that you would miss them…Lord knows I wish I could walk back a few decisions in my life. I’m going to be 60 and I’m still learning.

Those are bittersweet hunts, especially when they jump over to private property and you’re at the mercy of waiting for permission. My daughter arrowed a buck that jumped onto neighboring property. We called the Game Warden and he was able to contact the landowner to help us get permission to search. It was several hours later and we found him. The birds had eaten part of a hand quarter but fortunately we were able to salvage most of the meat. Learn from it and move on. Thanks for sharing it so maybe we can learn from your experience.

Here’s a confident rewrite of the text:
    27:28, 30:00, 32:53, 33:21, 34:36, 35:38,
There are clear reasons to avoid marginal shots. You found yourself tangled up in the tree, shooting through branches and close to a private line. This can happen to any hunter, but it's our responsibility to minimize those risks. Next time, take a moment to let down and wait for a higher percentage shot-for the sake of the animal. The harsh reality is, even if the coyotes hadn't gotten to him, that meat would have spoiled. So yes, it's easy to point fingers at the coyotes, but the accountability starts with us.

Congrats on a true giant! He’s a stud! I hit my PB public land buck back in the liver and gut in Ohio this year. Took me almost 48 hrs to find him! I walked within 50 yards of him that morning after I shot him! Kills me I missed him! Nothing touched the deer but the meat spoiled from the hot temps and gut shot. Was in the 70s during the days. Cape is at the taxidermist they believe it will be ok but can’t know for sure till it goes out to be tanned. 🤞🏻 cause I like to use the actual cape if possible! He had some cool battle wounds. A shredded hanging limp ear. Just a great old public land buck I’m proud of! Hate when it doesn’t all go perfect but that’s hunting! Stuff happens!
