  • I serviced this watch from a friend who’s brother found two of these at a garage sale. This watch looks like it was bought though the military as it is stamped and dated U.S 1982. The watch has no name on the dial but, on further inspection the case back and movement are marked Hamilton watch company and the movement is a manual wind ETA 2750. A very nice and robust Swiss made movement to work on. Virtually no problems with this servicing the watch movement just needed a good cleaning to remove the old built up oil, re assembled, re oiled and re regulated. The crystal advisory had to be replaced as well as the case back gasket and the hands needed to be reshaped and repainted. This overhaul is very straight forward but the function and life of the watch is now completely restored. This is a very simple video if your getting into the process of repairing watches that are not too complicated but, need some extra attention. Thank you all for watching and I hope you enjoy this episode of Times radical. #watchrepair, #diywatch, #watchmaintenance

That barrel arbor removal trick is a good idea. 👍

I always learn something. It never even crossed my mind to flip the barrel over on a block and punch the arbor out into a hole. Pretty lame, but I honestly can't wait to try it, lol. No voiceover. No voice at all. Very ASMR. I was so relaxed that I forgot I could pause the video and pee. A half-hour of squirming cuz I didn't want to miss a trick. I think that's half the entertainment. I know how good a watchmaker you are so I sit straining my eyes knowing I could see something new and clever in the span of one second.

Awesome Chris! So glad you liked the video. And, happy with the no talking. I hardly know what to say anymore. This was a great watch to work in for me too. To spend the day quietly in the office. Was thinking to do a voice over but, the editing was already taking me countless hours. Love these strong straight forward manual wind watches!

@@Timesradical I love them too. Don't worry about whether or not you do the voiceover or not. It's good to see the content however you put it together. You are getting better all the time and more comfortable with this new skill.

Thanks for sharing some of your skills mate, checking the barrel for free spin is a new one on me as I’m still learning but it makes good sense for squeezing out as much amp you can on vintage movements, thanks buddy 👍😉👏👏🙏

I was surprised how well the movement ran after the service. The first time I’ve seen one of these. I guess they were always a high preforming work horse 🐎

@@Timesradical ETA is about as good as they get and before Rolex made their own movements in-house they often used ETA parts in some of their early watches so they must have what it takes for quality and tight tolerances, this is my kind of fodder I tend to play with and theirs not much else that I prefer to source when I buy second hand watches if it’s ETA it’s in my basket that’s for sure. FHF is another good movement to watch out for pardon the pun mate they also were top dog in the day thanks for the feedback too mate I appreciate your time and I’m on a mission to get your channel moving I’ll comment we’re ever I can and share the hell out of your content so expect to see those numbers moving up soon. Have a great new day what ever you are upto man. 😉🙏👍🍻
